Ron Pope is the chosen artist for a slide share post about analyzing song lyrics and planning a music video. Originally, the music video was going to be based on a past relationship of 1.5 years, but after the relationship ended the plan is to base it on the breakup's aftermath of hope/dreams and anger/sadness. While motivation dropped after the breakup, creativity continued through poetry and planning. Shots for the "A Drop in the Ocean" music video were initially chosen to fit lyrics and convey a scene, but the video also aims to have surreal, Michel Gondry-like elements not exactly matching the lyrics.

I broke down the lyrics to different ideas and shots per line or paragraphs, these
ideas were my first response ideas after hearing the song over a few times. Since
then, some of my ideas have changed (as they would!.)
'YOURFIRST IDEAS DO'NTTENDTOBEYOURLAST'
I was going to base my music video on a relationship that I was in for a year and a
half but since the relationship has come to an end, I would like to base the music
video on this breakup and how the effects always have an aftermath of hope and
dreams or anger and sadness, whilst in deep thought. I lost motivation for a bit after
the final breakup however I kept to my creativity, with poetry writing and planning.
'A drop in the ocean' is a song with a sweet lovers meaning, the shots I have chosen
(to begin with) have been broken down to fit around the lyrics along with the mese-
en-scene of the music video.
I do not want to keep the lyrics completely in line with the visuals, I would like to have
a Gondry effect, creating things and being different in my video.
