relating to community-based tourism
To government:
Fully implement …. The Policy on Community Involvement in Tourism
Further encourage the participation of, consultation with and the inclusion of local
communities in tourism development
To companies in the tourism sector: Ensure the participation of communities in tourism
development
To civil society organisations: Conduct capacity building activities with civil society,
workers and communities
To tourists: Respect local Myanmar culture and traditions, the environment, and
women’s and children’s rights
To all: establish a platform for multistakeholder dialogue

entering the tourism business
Implications of constitutional amendments to
Schedule 2 and 5 for tourism management by
states/regions
Cross cutting responsible business issues e.g.
childrens rights, discrimination, indigenous peoples
