1. The BACKSPACE key is used to delete characters. You should key the
BACKSPACE key with your right little finger. Keep your index finger
anchored to the J key as you tap BACKSPACE. Tap the BACKSPACE key
once for each letter to be deleted. Then return the finger to the ; key.
When you hold down the BACKSPACE key, letters to the left of the
insertion point will be deleted until the BACKSPACE key is released
The TAB key is used to move the insertion point a specific location on
the line. For example, TAB can be used to indent the first line of a
paragraph. Word processing software has preset tabs called default
tabs. Usually, the first default tab is set 0.5” to the right of the left
margin. This tab is used to indent paragraphs as shown below.
The tab key is used to indent blocks of copy such as these.
It should also be used for tables to arrange data quickly and neatly
into columns.
