2. The Classroom Performance System
I used the CPS clickers to have a
geometry review with my students.
The whole week we worked on
polygons, angles, etc. and after we
did a picture scavenger hunt of
shapes around the school, I made a
review game using this technology.
3. Learning Objective
Standard 3: Students will describe and analyze attributes of
two-dimensional shapes.
Objective 1: Describe and compare attributes of two-
dimensional shapes.
Indicators a-d:
Identify, describe, and classify polygons (e.g., pentagons, hexagons,
octagons).
Identify attributes for classifying triangles (e.g., two equal sides for the
isosceles triangle, three equal sides for the equilateral triangle, right
angle for the right triangle).
Identify attributes for classifying quadrilaterals (e.g., parallel sides for
the parallelogram, right angles for the rectangle, equal sides and right
angles for the square).
Identify right angles in geometric figures, or in appropriate objects, and
determine whether other angles are greater or less than a right angle.
4. GEOMETRY
The students were actually pretty excited to learn
about geometry. We thought that it would be good to
let them experience some hands on activities while
exploring these new ideas.

Review for assessment
6. Reflection
CPS clickers are a change of pace for students
Something new to use
No management problems
7. Student use of technology
Every student had their own clicker.
Active participation.
Class Discussion on correct answers.
8. Technology use is essential
Add-on to the real learning activity, assessment.
Convenient
Fun
Motivational
Solidifies learning
9. Focus on learning task
Review geometry
Know who was struggling with each type of
shape/angle
Efficient
10. Added value
This type of review would be harder without
technology…you have to resort to
paper/pencil…that’s no fun!
Added value is that it is something new and that gets
the students excited about learning
I was able to see which types of questions/the
content that was harder for the majority of students
and focus on those specifics
