for the Boer war,
he was awarded
the medal twice.
The others are for
WW1 for his
efforts at Gallipoli.
5. At first daylight on May 30, 1915
Major Elmsile lead an attack which
dislodged a party of Turkish troops
from the trenches.
At this time Captain Hardham VC
was severely wounded.
Lt McDonald bravely went out to
attend to him and was shot in the
stomach. He died a week later
aboard HMHS Gascon.
