2. This is how the first draft of the front cover of my magazine
started my picture had already been edited as I used photo
aviary to change the brightness and the contrast. After I cut
out the image of my male model I created a shadow by
using the settings when you double click on a layer. I think
this was affective because it makes them look as if they’re in
the same location.
From this I then decided that the font was too dark in
contrast with the background so I decided to change to
colour to make it more eye-catching. I used red because it
doesn’t clash with other colours but Is also eye catching.
This is how it turned out:
From this you can see that the font
makes the magazine a lot more eye-
catching and also gives the magazine an
identify as the colour scheme is very
clear, and doesn’t make the magazine
more feminine than masculine.
3. I then cut out the model from this picture and
placed it on my contents page. I did this
because it makes the reader focus more on
the model. This is important because my
model set the main theme of my magazine, I
also wanted her to be portrayed as an idyllic
teenager to inspire my target audience. This is
what it looked like when it was on the
contents page:
I believe my contents page was interesting because of the
way I had used the layers. It made the model look 3rd
dimensional because of the way I had her place over the
lines which separated the contents column. I also think the
contrast between a black and white picture and the rest in
colour also helped her stand out and keep the serious
mood of the magazine, it helped show the amount of
editing I did.
4. • I then decided to make another cut out of a different picture of the
same model. I believed it was important to make her look serious
because he article was a serious manner which I felt needed to be
reflected through the main image. At first I was going to do a column
with no background although it was difficult to read the writing
because of the images on the background so I decided to write 2
columns on word and then print screen and save them as pictures to
help them stand out and look professional.
5. I then placed the picture of the model central on
the page and put the to columns underneath to
again give the magazine a more dimensional
look.
