Experis @ WIBADD – Business Analyst Development Day May
2012
Over the course of the past year, Experis has been strengthening http://wisconsin.theiiba.org/index.php/home
our relationship with local professional groups across IT and
Engineering. Most recently, we attended the IIBA (International
Institute of Business Analysts) Annual Development Day in
Madison, WI. Over 450 Business Analysts from small to global
companies across Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay areas
were represented!
We asked Cindy, a former consultant of ours, to represent
Experis Milwaukee at the event. Here’s her recap!
The WI BADD sessions offered a variety of topics for all different
skill levels and the flexibility to pick-and-choose sessions that
were of interest to me, whether it was new information or
helping to provide more detail on a topic that I was not familiar
with. I enjoyed networking with IIBA Chapter members and
building on those relationships, as well as meeting new people
and sharing information on products and training available in
my field. The ability to discuss topics with peers from other
companies helps to provide a new prospective and recharges
me as a Business Analyst!
Key Takeaways:
Increased familiarity with the 7 Lean Software Principles - Use Cases can be part of the lean documentation of
agile development and how it can improve communication and help in estimating project complexity.
Improved understanding of Data Modeling in gathering business requirements.
Reaffirmed the importance of identifying and using core business processes to create value and better solutions.
Cindy’s story:
Experis allowed me the flexibility when I needed it most. In 2006 I came across some changes in my life and career plan,
and immediately began consulting as it fit my needs/schedule. When my needs changed back, I immediately went to
work full-time within the same IT department. Overall I have been with the same company for 24 years - Experis was
instrumental in helping me to continue learning and working so that I could easily transition.
