Traditional Polish dishes include dumplings made from flour, water, salt and oil and stuffed with sauerkraut and mushrooms, boiled until cooked. Chicken soup is made by simmering chicken, parsley root, celery root, carrots, leek, onion, garlic, bay leaves and allspice in water and seasoning with salt and pepper. Bigos, a hunter's stew, contains beef, pork, apples, carrots, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, garlic, prunes, dried mushrooms and sausage.
