ROLE PLAY Nº 5
• Give your opinion about dropping out of school to start working at a bar.
Student A. You have decided to give up your studies and start working as a
waiter/waitress. You tell your best friend how excited you are about it, but he/she
doesn’t seem to agree with you. Explain your point of view. Try to convince him/her
about the advantages of giving up school and taking that job.
ROLE PLAY Nº 5
• Give your opinion about dropping out of school to start working as a barman.
Student B. Your best friend wants to give up his/her studies and start working as a
waiter/waitress. You completely disagree with him/her. Try to convince him/her not to
do it. Make sure you mention the advantages of continuing to study, as well as the
disadvantages of taking that job in particular.

• Requests and permission
Student A. You’re in your friend’s apartment and are forced to stay there for a week.
Ask your friend politely for permission to used different facilities and things around the
house.

permission to use different things & facilities around the house. For each one of them,
decide if you’ll give him/her permission or not. Explain why, always trying to be polite.
