Paint is any liquid, liquefiable, or mastic composition that,
after application to a substrate in a thin layer, converts to
a solid film. It is most commonly used to protect, color, or
provide texture to objects. Paint can be made or purchased
in many colors—and in many different types, such as
watercolor, synthetic, etc. Paint is typically stored, sold, and
applied as a liquid, but most types dry into a solid.

3. Eligibility
Minimum requirement for a candidate to get admission
for B.Tech in Paint Technology is 10+2 or its equivalent
with science. You can opt for M.Tech after B.Tech. Paint
technology courses are also offered as a subject/ paper in
chemical engineering by most institutes.

4. Job Prospects
Paint industry is mainly dependent on automobile and real
estate industry. Since these sectors are in boom there is
some scope for paint technology as a career avenue. A Paint
Technologist is required in different departments of the paint
industry. They can find work in any of the following
departments of paint manufacturing companies: research
and development, quality assurance, production, marketing
and as technical assistants/ executives who work on clients

5. One will get a starting salary ranging between 1,25,000 to
1,65,000 per annum as a Paint Technologist, Chemist or
Officer in a paint manufacturing industry. In some
industries, however, the starting salary is over 2,50,000
per annum which goes to show that salary packages are
