2. I took inspiration from NME’s Double Page Spread for my Double Page
Spread as we have the same primary audience (male and females aged
16-25), also I like their layout and house style as it’s recognisable and
simple to follow. Some idea’s of theirs I uses was the image and text
being distinctively separate (the image doesn’t overlap onto the left
page). As well as this, I have used their idea of a Drop Cap to begin my
article, however, I have only used it once whereas NME have used it at
least twice. I tried to be orignal and use my own ideas as I didn’t want to
apprear too similar to NME, however, they are a popular magazine and
their audience like their style and layout, so I know that making my
magazine similar will make it appeal more to my audience.
3. Audience Feedback
“ I think that Reverb is an original magazine, that will stand out on the shelves
due to it’s informative front cover, that uses a variety of fonts and colours –
again making it stand out. Also, the colour scheme continues throughout the
magazine, familiarising the audience with the style of the magazine. I liked
the layout as it was simple to follow and had a lot of different features that
kept me entertained. However, as I am more of a Pop fan than an Indie Rock
fan, so I would put myself in the Secondary audience, I feel as if I’d prefer it if
the magazine contained more colour and the images were brighter and stood
out more. Some of the bands and artists within the magazine wouldn’t
interested me usually but I wasn’t put off by this. “

4. Audience Feedback
“ The variety of fonts and colours within the magazine is good and appealing.
This magazine is very suited to my musical preferences and I feel as if I am a
part of this magazine by the use of words such as “You” and “We”. The
content is good and I enjoy the different features. I find the magazine, as a
whole, easy to read and follow. One thing I would criticize would be the
images used. I think they could make the magazine look more professional if
they were edited in a different way or the lighting was better. “
