are a lot of extraordinary places and monuments. Look
at them. They are incredible!
4. The Angel of the North
The Angel of the North is a very large
metal sculpture of an angel with its wings
held wide open. It stands very close to the
A 1 road at Gateshead, in northeast
England. It’s the country’s largest
sculpture: it is 20 metres high and its wings
are 54 metres wide. It was created by the
sculptor Anthony Gormley.The Angel of the
North can be clearly seen by people who
are travelling through the area by car or
train. It’s one of the most viewed pieces of
art in the world – about 90,000 people see
it every day!
5. TRee Lights
The famous tree-lights is next to
Canary Wharf. Tree has three pieces,
two of which are quite real, the third is
the construction of a pair of tens of
working traffic lights. The sparkling
lights of the tree symbolize the rapid
London life and cheer pedestrians and
passing motorists.
6. VROOM-VROOM
Lorenzo Quinn’ sculpture is called Vroom Vroom. It is set in the heart of
London. He converted his first car in a sculpture and put it on public display.
The sculpture represents four-meter children's arm that holds the car, as if a
giant child plays with a toy car.
7. London Metal Citizens
Outside of the Tate Modern there is a
sculpture of a giant spider.It has a
height of 9 meters and is made of
bronze, stainless steel and marble.
It is called Mum or Maman. It is a
monument made by French-born
American sculptor Louise
Bourgeois, known worldwide for its
sculptures of spiders.

nearby Church of Saint Pankratios. It was
built in 1868, it is one of the brightest
examples of English neo-Gothic architecture

Paddington Bear is a fictional
character in children’s literature. The
polite immigrant bear from Darkest

suitcase and marmalade
sandwiches has become a classic
English children’s literature icon.
Paddington station is a very
important place for Paddington Bear.
It is where he was first found by Mr
and Mrs Brown when he arrived in
London. It is also a reason why he
got his name. The sculptor is
Michael Bond.
