I have had the pleasure of working with Eileen DeStefano for the past three months here at the
Restoration Sciences Academy. I am the Education Manager and Eileen was one of two primary
administrative support employees I have. I worked with her daily during this time as she helped
ensure all of our customers had a great experience in their courses with us.
I was immediately impressed with Eileen when she arrived here, starting with her attention to
detail. She has received several compliments from our off campus instructors about the
completeness of her work. She has had the responsibility of shipping between 8 and 12 supply
boxes per week to off campus courses during her tenure. Each of these unique boxes is critical
to the success of that instructor’s course – and she has done it virtually perfectly.
Eileen is not afraid to do something difficult. In November of 2013 we discovered an accounting
error which necessitated calling customers from early in 2013 and asking them for past due
payments. Eileen stepped up and made many of those difficult calls, resulting in a 95%
collection rate on these old debts.
Eileen organized all the accommodations for a class of executive level customers we had on
campus in January and the event went off without a hitch. She organized hotel, transportation,
food and all the behind the scenes needs for the course. The instructor was very impressed.
I have also appreciated Eileen’s ability to quickly see elements of the organization which need
more focus and propose solutions. In my case, she noted that a Customer Relations Management
software program would help us track our customers better. Instead of just suggesting we get
one, she researched three options and presented a report to assist the decision. She also
completed a research project analyzing our position versus our competition.
My greatest regret with Eileen is that we are losing her to a long time employee returning from
maternity leave. If there was any way possible, she would be staying at her current position, and
I wouldn’t be writing this letter.
Do yourself a favor. Give Eileen DeStefano a chance to show you what she can do.
Sincerely,
Kevin Fisher
