Overview of the game: As a fertilised queen wasp, you’ve just emerged from hibernation. It’s
Spring, and it’s time to go out in search of a new nesting site. After this you must lay your eggs,
search for food and make-do until your colony is a bit more self-sufficient. At this stage it’s all about
management and making the right decisions. Think of it as kind of like running a business- how much
labour should be dedicated to finding food, building or defending the nest? To what ratio should the
different type of workers/breeders be produced? It’s all about finding the right balance and
managing this alongside random scenarios using the best strategies. But not only this, in Sting, you
are able to move from wasp to wasp, and experience the duties and lives of these insects from a first
hand perspective point of view, simulating and providing a real insight into these creatures’ lifecycle.
Player motivation: The aim of the game is to be the dominant wasp’s nest- Survive the year, and
take over all surrounding territories to win.

Target customer: The kind of person interested in this game would be interested in animals and
creatures, or even have a particular fascination with the insect world. Players would need to know
how to work a mouse and basic hotkeys, but control is not overly complex and is easily learnt. Age

Competition: SimANT, an old DOS game, was very popular and successful in it’s time, but it has
since become abandonware and is very out-dated in terms of both graphics and actual game play
content, and as such, is not a major competitor.
Unique selling points: There are no other games that use insects, or even more specifically wasps as
the main playable characters. It’s a fresh new outlook on the management genre front, bringing
something really new and fresh to the market.
