2. INT. LECTURE HALL DAY
The lecturer, DAN, is standing up at the front of the hall
shutting everything down and packing up. He just finished
his final lecture and is looking to go home.
In walks Jimmy, a student from his last course.
DAN
Yes? Need something?
JIMMY
I was hoping I could talk to you
about our first assessment.
DAN
The one due this friday?
JIMMY
Yeah.
DAN
Sure, do you want me to have a look
at your?
JIMMY
No, I didn’t bring mine. Well, it’s
just that, I wanted to know if
maybe you’d consider making it 2000

Dan looks down his noes at Jimmy. Normally, Jimmy is one of

5000 words for your course, surely
cutting a few won’t matter, and
it’d really help us out.
At this point Dan is becoming noticeably disappointed at
Jimmy.
DAN
Look. You signed up for this
course. You knew the requirements
to pass. And you’ve had weeks to
finish mine and Michelle’s
assessments. I’m not about to
change my course just because my
students can’t be bothered to do
some actual work once in awhile. If
this is too much for you, perhaps
you should look at other modules.
I’ll see you Friday.
Dan moves past Jimmy leaving him standing there, mouth
hanging open.
