How to protect
the environment
Group 2
Recycling
 One of the most popular forms of caring for the environment
is waste recycling. Recycling aims primarily in avoiding
excessive exploitation of natural deposits, as well as reducing
production of waste. The whole point of recycling is to take
advantage of those materials that are still useful for
something. That is why waste segregation in households is
so important. Individual types of waste should be segregated
in special containers, marked with different colors: glass -
green, plastic - yellow, paper - blue, metals - red or orange. In
this inconspicuous way, which does not require much work,
you can take responsibility for the state of the environment on
your own shoulders.
Saving water
Another way in which each of us can take care of the natural
environment is the economic and wise use of water. Fresh
water resources are very limited (making up only 3 percent of all
water resources on Earth - and most of it is accumulated in
glaciers), reasonable water management is important for all of
us. There are several ways to save water - from simply turning
off the tap in the bathroom while brushing your teeth, to boiling a
measured amount of water for tea. Using rainwater in the
garden to water the plants is also a method. In this way, we do
not have to use tap water. So, in its own way, it's natural
recycling.
Saving energy
We can save energy in many different ways, for example:
- Turning electronic devices off when we don’t use them
- Turning the lights off when we leave the room
- Using renewable sources of energy
- Using energy-saving light bulbs instead of normal ones
- Buying energy-saving and eco-friendly devices
Using renewable sources of
energy
Another thing you can do to care about the natural environment and
especially the quality of the air we breathe, is to use the power of
renewable energy sources. The production of electricity for own use with
the use of micro-installations is gaining importance also in Poland -
especially when it comes to photovoltaic micro-installations, which in
recent years are being built more and more. Electricity produced thanks
to solar panels is completely ecological. Its excess can be returned to
the network and we can receive electricity when the sun is hidden
behind the clouds. Additionally, the panels work effectively for at least 25
years, and the cost of the investment returns after a few years, so this
solution is not only environmentally friendly, but also helps save the
home budget. In a word: pleasant and useful.
