What do you think is the most important function of the nervous system and why? Please type the answer in about a paragraph long. No copying has to be in own words. Solution In a case of human, we have both nervous and endocrine system; which work in co-ordinated way that\'s why our control system is called as the neuro-endocrine system. As we are having the nervous system, it controls all the activities which may be voluntary action or involuntary action. That\'s why our nervous system is divided into two parts i.e. CNS and PNS. CNS (central nervous system) which controls by cranial nerves (12 pairs) and the PNS (peripheral nervous system) controls by spinal nerves (31 pairs). The nervous system controls all the activities whatever happening in our body that may be voluntarily or involuntarily. But when it comes to the most important function of the nervous system that must be the involuntary actions, like if we talk about a patient who is in a COMA, his/her voluntary functions are not working but he/she is still breathing, respiring and excreting. So these all activity comes under involuntary actions which are controlled by Medulla oblangata. If we talk about voluntary actions, these are not working still that patient in living, but when any kind of accident occurs in medulla region a person dies due to breakage of the brain stem. So, as a conclusion, a person without nervous system can\'t live..
