MINUTES OF FIRST RKS MEETING

FIRST RKS MEETING WAS HELD ON 18 OCTOBER 2011 AT NTPHC ASHTANGOO UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP
OF BLOCK MEDICAL OFFICER BANDIPORA.
The following officers/officials attended the meeting.

RKS meeting was held on 18 of October 2011 at NTPHC Ashtangoo under the chairmanship of Block Medical
Officer Bandipora and was attended by all the members of RKS committee except JE PDD; BDO Bandipora was
in Jaipore for training. All staff members of NTPHC and respectable citizens of Ashtangoo were also present in
the meeting.
The following members have skipped the meeting despite timely official letter with proper receipt as well as

telephonic reminder on the 18 of Oct 2011 at 11:15 am. It was agreed that BMO Bandipora will write to these
officers and will sought reasons for their absence from the meeting.
1. JE R&B absent for two RKS meetings year 2010-11 and year 2011-12.
2. JE PDD absent for this year’s RKS meeting.
Meeting got under way with a welcome address by Medical officer NTPHC Ashtangoo at around 2PM in the
meeting hall of NTPHC Ashtingoo. It was followed by Power point presentation on previous years RKS
expenditure and improvement of services thereof.
Current issues faced by NTPHC were discussed, work for current year was prioritized and fund distribution was
made. All members agreed on the following points.
1. Construction of waste pits for safe disposal of sharps/general waste and waste of Human origin.
Member Secretary suggested that construction of waste pits will be carried out by Sarpanch and
other respectable citizens jointly. This suggestion was appreciated by all members and agreed
upon. Pit will be 15 feet long by 5 feet broad and 5 feet deep double brick lining with plaster,
covering of top and with overhead roof. Money will be released on installment basis by Member
secretary RKS based on progress of work.
This will serve four purposes:
2. i. Joint venture to improve patient care.
ii. Effective community involvement.
iii. Sharing responsibility.
iv. Role reversal; Member secretary/MO will form a team that will audit community
work.
2. Waste management dustbins for segregation of waste at source (three buckets each) for General
ward, day care ward, MOT, Lab section and Labor Room.
3. Various lab items for effective functioning of laboratory, list already provided by lab in charge.
4. Four stetho’s, four digital thermometers and four tongue depressors.
5. Examination Tables four in number/ optional if available at Block store.
6. Flooring of various sections and ward.
7. Office items like office stationery and three in one printer.
8. Furniture (Tables and chairs) for various sections like AYUSH Section, OBS OPD, Data centre, CHO
office and Meeting Hall.
9. For erratic power supply MO NTPHC Ashtangoo gave a suggestion of repairing the Genset offered
by the then BMO which was not accepted instead it was decided to pursue for the availability of
same from DDC Bandipora under tribal plan else wait for next year RKS funds.
10. Aqua-guard for patients if funds permit.
RKS Chairman (BMO Bandipora) appreciated active involvement of community and stressed on finding better
ways of improving patient care.
The meeting ended with the vote of thanks to the chair.
