Abraham Lincoln was an American lawyer and politician born in 1809 in Kentucky who served as the 16th President of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. He was married to Mary Todd and had four sons, the oldest being Robert and the youngest being Tad. Lincoln led the country during the American Civil War and worked to abolish slavery.
