Selected Industrial Engineering Highlights
§ Led Quality Improvement Project at the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2017 based on knowledge of Rail Wheel
Factory (RWF) facility and production capability; followed Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle through various total quality
management techniques, such as the 5 Whys, root cause analysis, flow chart creation, Ishikawa diagram creation, and Pareto
analysis; completed project over two-month period.
§ Accomplished Conveyor Belt Project in December 2017 within two years and under a budget of $1.6M; produced a computer-
controlled conveyor belt that moved and positioned items within sub-millimeters; discussed the project scope statement,
deliverables, technical requirements, and milestones; developed work breakdown structure and network diagram for activities
while assigning resources, budget reserves, and management reserves to work packages; made recommendations to ensure that
project key performance indicators were on track; identified all conflicts during each of the four phases of project life cycle in
quarterly status reports presented to Vice President of Operations.

Led team of four in performing experimentation and analysis during project aimed at improving fuel consumption of rotary hearth furnace.
§ Generated annual savings of $233K+ by optimizing furnace’s fuel oil consumption; observed and pinpointed critical points in
processes; compiled and analyzed experimental data, based on which recommendations were made; implemented proposed
configuration.
§ Increased productivity 5% over course of a month; initially, excessive scaling occurred on heated billets when they exited furnace
and entered radial forging machine; redistributed soaking time and decreased air flow in soaking area, thus reducing oxidation;
achieved better forgings due to non-inclusion of scales, which resulted in fewer rejections.
