Selected Industrial Engineering Highlights
§ Led Quality Improvement Project at the University of Texas at Arlington in December 2017 based on knowledge of Rail Wheel
Factory (RWF) facility and production capability; followed Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle through various total quality
management techniques, such as the 5 Whys, root cause analysis, flow chart creation, Ishikawa diagram creation, and Pareto
analysis; completed project over two-month period.
§ Accomplished Conveyor Belt Project in December 2017 within two years and under a budget of $1.6M; produced a computer-
controlled conveyor belt that moved and positioned items within sub-millimeters; discussed the project scope statement,
deliverables, technical requirements, and milestones; developed work breakdown structure and network diagram for activities
while assigning resources, budget reserves, and management reserves to work packages; made recommendations to ensure that
project key performance indicators were on track; identified all conflicts during each of the four phases of project life cycle in
quarterly status reports presented to Vice President of Operations.
Professional Experience
RWF – Production Unit under Ministry of Railways, Government of India| Bangalore, India | 12/14-5/15
Project Leader (Bachelor of Engineering Final-Year Project)
Led team of four in performing experimentation and analysis during project aimed at improving fuel consumption of rotary hearth furnace.
§ Generated annual savings of $233K+ by optimizing furnace’s fuel oil consumption; observed and pinpointed critical points in
processes; compiled and analyzed experimental data, based on which recommendations were made; implemented proposed
configuration.
§ Increased productivity 5% over course of a month; initially, excessive scaling occurred on heated billets when they exited furnace
and entered radial forging machine; redistributed soaking time and decreased air flow in soaking area, thus reducing oxidation;
achieved better forgings due to non-inclusion of scales, which resulted in fewer rejections.
RWF – Production Unit under Ministry of Railways, Government of India| Bangalore, India | 1/14
Officer Intern
Trained on disassembly and assembly of four-stroke diesel engines in motor shop.
§ Mastered manufacturing processes associated with steel making, pressurized bottom pouring technique, and heat treatment of
cast wheels.
§ Studied radial forging for manufacturing railway axles, heat treatment of axles, machining, inspection, and wheel set assembly.

Academic Projects
University of Texas at Arlington| Arlington, TX | 12/16
Facility Planning Project
Led project on basics of facility planning, overseeing four other team members.
§ Planned and constructed basic facility model for firewall construction company.
§ Determined who at the company would perform each essential function, including site engineering, projectmanagement, planning
engineering, mechanical engineering, and directing.
University of Texas at Arlington| Arlington, TX | 05/17
Simulation Study Project
Developed discrete event simulation model. Achieved required results within the established margin of error.
§ Implemented theory of constraints to build silicon wafer production facility while identifying bottlenecks in system and to estimate
production output for first month.
§ Added multiple improvements in various scenarios and with different equipment to obtain desired output by year-end.
University of Texas at Arlington| Arlington, TX | 10/16
Human Factors Engineering Project
Studied the basics of human factors engineering, focusing on how employees interact with their work environments. Supervised group of
four other team members.
§ Examined the various factors that affect workers’ performance (e.g., work posture, work environment, stress and strain) and how
they hinder the overall performance of a company’s work system.
§ Explored the various techniques used to counter the factors’ effects on the work system (e.g., task design, equipment design).
Subway| Arlington, TX | 9/16
Direct Time Study
Performed study to determine the standard time it took an employee to make a sandwich.
§ Conducted analysis of various foreign elements (e.g., machine failures, customer argument, transaction problems) that affected
the time and performance of employees by using snapback and continuous methods.
§ Suggested ways in which to improve and counter foreign elements, based on results.
