Joey doesn’t share food, and nor do we! Food is not just a necessity of life. For foodies, it goes beyond just a way to sustain life. We maintain a lavish and extravagant affair with our food, and do not want to share the last slice of cake, or the last sip of coffee.

Coffee and Croissants: A
French Experience!

our food, and do not want to share the last slice of cake, or the

pizza, a hot chocolate brownie or a creamy cup of espresso- just
thinking about these is making my mouth water! With our
growing and diverse tastes and preferences, the cafe culture in
India has also taken new dimensions.

When Cafe Coffee Day came to India in 1996, it triggered a
revolution and ever since coffee shops started flourishing
everywhere. The fuel which drove this revolution in the food
and cafe culture in India is primarily the status quo. People
want an exclusive experience along with a cosy vibe. The
growing middle class, brand awareness and creative ads are all
push factors in deciding our food behaviour. Not to forget, we
want Instagram-worthy food and cafes which would leave
everyone in awe. Compared to earlier generations, who would
look out for cafes to relax or have conversations, the 21st
century millennials are driven more towards diversity of food,
ambience and decor. To match up to the expectations of their
consumers, new-age cafes have also adapted very well, giving a
state-of-the-art experience for people walking in.
With a shift in consumer preferences serving as a great impetus
for cafes in India, it was about time that newer cuisines were
introduced, offering more options to choose from. I think this
led to the opening of this brand new French pastry shop near
me, in the heart of Delhi, also known as Connaught Place.
Bustling with more than 100 cafes, CP is the most popular spot
for people from all age groups. Hence it was quite natural for
Brioche Doree, an urban bakery offering a menu full of French
food by culinary experts, to open their first ever Indian outlet in

CP. This boulangerie is spread over two spacious and luminous
floors in CP’s M Block, and has been captivating its audience
ever since it opened. A sweet paradise for dessert lovers who
are looking for a Parisian experience, this place was the best
French pastry shop I could find near me!
Brioche Doree was initially opened in 1976, in Brest, France.
Founded by Louis Le Duff who’s now the president of Groupe
Le Duff, this chain is now the second largest bakery in the world
and serves more than 200,000 customers every day. This famed
French bakery now serves authentic French delicacies across 50
countries, and has made it to India finally in a vegetarian
avatar. The whole ambience of this place is alluring and the
cosy vibe it exudes is irresistible. Their ground floor is adorned
with choicest pastries, flaky croissants and other French
desserts, which will leave you craving for more!
I discovered this cafe just a few days back, as I looked up in the
internet for french pastry shops near me, and this cafe popped
up. I went through their website and was delighted to see the
variety of food they were offering. I also figured out that they
offer 25% discount on all cakes and pastries when you walk-in
between 8-11pm. So I immediately made a plan with my friend,
who’s a foodie like me and loves to explore new places. We
ordered their famous French baguette with brie, almond

croissants and a cup of cappuccino. We loved the croissant,
they preserved the French taste very well. The soft and cream
filled croissants definitely brightened up my mood and I had a
great time with my friend. The friendly staff and the lovely
ambience of the place added to its overall charm. Definitely
going back to this place, for more savoury delights!
