Gloria Play Analysis
The play that was chosen to be adapted to film was, "Gloria." "Gloria", is written by Branden
Jacobs–Jenkins. The play was first performed in the theater on May 28, 2015 and has only
remained on the stage. "Gloria", is definitely a cinematic piece of work, which means it has
qualities that will adapt well into a film. What qualities in the play make it cinematic? First, the
dialogue in the play will certainly adapt well when creating a film. The structure of the play is
another cinematic quality as well as the jump cuts throughout the course of the performance.
"Gloria", is a two act play. When adapting this play to film, one important aspect is the different
shots that are being filmed. Whose face do you want showing? What angle is the camera? Do
you want the character being filmed to look superior or weak? Also, how the locations are going
to come into play for the making of the film. The climactic scene is when Gloria opens fire in the
office and kills almost everyone including herself. This scene is at the end of Act 1 on pages mid
29–30. I would choose for the killing scene to not be shown but mainly heard. Running and
reactions are the only parts of people that I want seen in the film. In the play, there...show more

Dean's character is in his late 20's and is a white male. Dean is a nice business man but can also be
rude and two–faced, like when he talks about Gloria's party behind her back right before he told her
how nice it was. To play Dean's character I would choose, Lucas Till who starred in, "The Hannah
Montana Movie." I chose Lucas because he is now in his late 20's but also attractive and I think he
could play the part very well, especially with his quirky smile. For the character of Devin, Dean's
look alike, I would choose Jeremy Irvine from, "War Horse." Jeremy does not have blonde hair like
Lucas but for the film it could be

Still unable to comprehend what was conveyed, Ostara decided to get out of her bed and make an
offering at her personal altar. Making the offerings cleared her mind a bit, but it was not enough
to get an idea as to what the entity wanted to know about. When she was finished, she began to get
dressed and make herself ready to meet with these contacts who wanted to find a lead. Not too
long after, Ostara eventually left her personal living quarters, and was already on her way back to
the surface. As she was walking to meet these contacts, she tried to come up with a false lead to
divert the nosy contacts, thereby keeping the secrecy of Blood Moon intact. In turn, she eventually
did, in the form of concocting a simple, yet believable lie involving...show more content...

Paper Moon Sparknotes
Paper Moon is 1973 comedy–drama written and directed by an American film maker Peter
Bogdanovich and was released by Paramount Pictures. The movie talks about the depression and
poverty among the American people. Peter Bogdanovich uses a little girl Tatum O, Neal as his
main character to reflect on the poverty of Kansas and Missouri in the year 1936. It is a joyful
movie from the beginning to the end as it is considered the most charming movie. It is a significant
movie because it touches on the real life situations.
The setting of the play starts with Con man Moses Pray (Ryan O'Neal) who meets a 9–year–old
Addie Loggins (Tatum O'Neal). The action of the movie takes place in Addie'smother graveside.
However, the neighbor's suspect that the graveside is Addie's father's grave. Con Man denies the
allegations and agrees to deliver Tatum O'Neal whom she believes is an orphaned. At the local
maize grain miller, Moses convinces the brother of the man whom he believes accidentally killed
Addie's mother to provide two hundred dollars to Addie (Brown, 2003). Addie however, hears the
conversation and agrees to travel with Moses to raise the 200 dollars instead of depending on the
man. Both Moses and O'Neal traveled to a recently widowed woman. After arriving at the woman's
home, Moses pretends that he has sold a personalized Bible to...show more content...
It portrays that Kansas and Missouri are faced with poverty as most of the people are portrayed to
be poor. Tatum O' Neal as a character is used to portray the state of poverty in Kansas. Moses is
also another character that the producer uses to portray the state of poverty in Kansas. Moses is
seen using O'Neal as a vessel to advance some money for himself due to his poverty. He travels
with her to raise the two hundred dollars. Furthermore, we also see Moze and Addie stealing
whiskey in a Kansas hotel, and their situations also show that they are being faced by

Ruby Morris Essay
"H20" Character Personality by Matthew Duran
Ruby Morris, protagonist and titular character of a popular novel written by Virginia Bergin titled
"H20", is a fifteen–year–old high schooler with a very interesting personality that changes for the
better throughout the novel. In the beginning of the book, Ruby was a very self–centered, rude,
selfish and ignorant girl. She only cared about herself as well as her popularity; she had a stepdad
named Simon which she hated with a passion she never enjoyed talking to him no matter how hard
he tried to bond with her. When it began to rain acid she was concerned about her boyfriend Caspar
but didn't do anything to stop him from getting himself in danger. When Zak's parents were

After Ruby's mom and step brother pass away, she relies on Simon and they finally get the
bonding experience he always wanted. Simon does eventually pass away, nevertheless they had a
good time together and Ruby learned valuable lessons. Ruby goes to find refuge and find a fellow
nerd, which also so happens to be her classmate, Darius Spratt at first Ruby hated him, but it was
required that Darius and her got along so that Ruby could complete her journey of finding her real
dad. After a few days they split and Ruby becomes very sad, she realizes the importance of a
friend, but she becomes very determined, she would go anywhere to reunite with her dad, it was her
last hope. After a few days she finally found him and she burst with excitement and now understood
that life was more than makeup and her phone, it was about family and relations with them, it was
about others who mattered and Ruby now understood that. The reader could now infer that Ruby has
completely changed into a brand new person for the better and that her life will forever be changed

The Escape
The Escape
– Millie Murray
Plot
Story of an abusive husband and how his oppressed wife makes her journey to independence.
Alton had refused to allow Patsy from visiting her sick and ailing motherin Jamaica, even though
Patsy was pining away for her mother and homeland.
Miz Ruby, Patsy's friend, provided both emotional and monetary support to encourage Patsy to
escape. She thought of the plan for Patsy 's successful escape.
Alton, who had always underestimated Patsy's intelligence, could not believe that his wife had
outsmarted him and escaped. In Patsy 's absence, Alton vents his frustration and hurt on his children,
beating and abusing them both physically and emotionally.
When Patsy finally returned, Alton was...show more content...
Themes:
Love and Friendship.
Alton treats Patsy as his slave, and not his wife.
Alton abused his children and wife, even though he must love them underneath that facade.
Miz Ruby went out of her way to help her good friend, Patsy, to regain her freedom and escape from
home.
The Manifestation of Frustration and Self–pity.
Alton must have felt quite sore about not being able to practise teaching in Britain; thus he practised
on his children and vented his frustrations on them.
Did not bring home a substantial income, thus took it out on wife and reluctantly gave her the
house–keeping money only after she had to resort to desperate means.
Womaniser; feelings of unfulfillment in life, and uncontentment with his family lead him to vent his
anger on his children in the form of slaps and whips.
The Importance of having a Supportive Friend Through Life 's Ordeals.
Patsy was able to regain her freedom and assert herself with the help and encouragement of Miz
Ruby, her good friend and confidante.
Style
Story is told from the back, to the beginning to the end of the story again.
Dialect – brings out West Jamaican influence on the characters.
Interesting Points
Why is Alton so adamant about not allowing Patsy to visit her sick ailing mother? Does he feel that
it would undermine his control on her, and that she would not return home once allowed to leave?
Why does Patsy stick with such a violent and abusive husband for

Moon Monologue
Sometimes people come in our lives like a storm, totally unexpected and unabashed. They blow
you away and wash you clean. You weren't even prepared or wishing for their arrival and it's so
sudden that you don't even get the time to think things through. It's like some magician hypnotised
you, making you dance to his own tune. You start talking of them like they put the stars in the sky
and light in the world or maybe they become your whole damn sky with shining stars in a world so
lit up. The sun, the moon, your home, friends, family, all remain the same but something inside you
changes and that changes your whole world. The moon is no longer just a rock to you and the sun
no longer just a star. Somehow everything becomes meaningful and more beautiful to you. That's
what they do to you, they put so much love inside you that you have no option but to reflect this
love on the outside. They fill all your missing gaps and give you a new rose–tinted glass to view the
world. In such tiny–huge moments, they revolutionise your whole world in a way that you realise
that you weren't really living until you met them. Call them a messenger of God or a guardian
angel, but they really touch you in ways that no one ever has or ever can. It feels like they upgrade
you to a whole new version of yourself that you didn't even know existed. Each time you're stuck up
in a situation, you imagine what would they have done and you do exactly the same. Maybe they're
your light at the end of the tunnel or the passport to your future, but they make you feel...show more

Those are exactly the kind of relationships that tear you into pieces when they fall apart. They walk
out as easily and unexpectedly as they walked in but this time, they prick into your body, pull your
heart from the chest and shock you to bits, leaving you miserable, bleeding, broken and crushed.
They turn your entire world upside down when they leave, creating a fog on the same rose–tinted
