1. Guidelines for writing Declaration of Independence:
 Preamble: Discuss the reasons why you the people wrote this Declaration. What
reasons do you believe New Granada people should declare their independence?
 Declaration of People Rights: Explain what you believe, at least 3 ideals and
values that you support. What beliefs do you think New Granada people should
have in the past?
 List of Complaints/Grievances: List the person/persons to whom the characters
are addressing the complaints, and what they specifically are complaining about.
 Statements of prior attempts to have the independence: List the ways (historical
events) in which New Granada people had already tried to have the independence.
(at least 5)
 Declaration of Independence: Describe how people wanted things to change as a
result of the Declaration. How would do you think people wanted things to change
if they became independent?
 Signatures: Write names and lastnames of at least 5 important characters in the
independence process, no matter if they did not participate directly or died before
independence.
