- 65% of startup teams fail due to unresolved founder conflicts according to Harvard research.
- The company proposes an AI toolkit called SPATZ to monitor and help resolve disputes, spats, and conflicts within startup teams in real-time.
- By tracking resolved vs. unresolved issues, the system would generate predictive data to help investors assess a team's chances of success before investing.

SpatzAI Toolkit to Resolve Founder Conflict
1. “65% of startup teams
fail due to
founder conflict”
Harvard Professor, Noam Wasserman
THE FOUNDER’S DILEMMAS
We don’t think “founder conflict” is actually causing the failure but the
UNRESOLVED FOUNDER CONFLICT!
We think investors and accelerators should be testing this.
2. OUR MISSION
Is to resolve founder conflict, and
increase startup teams’ cohesion
and decision-making skills
ie. psychological safety.
To create an AI toolkit that helps resolve
and monitor a team’s spats, disputes and
founder conflict in real-time. Helping
startup accelerators and investors
predict, and increase the probability
of a startup team’s success.
OUR VISION
4. When founders disagree we can get
defensive of our precious ideas, and poor
behavior will occur, on occasion. We think
that with little or no recourse to resolve
these spats, disputes and founder conflict,
they can remain unresolved and fester.
This can cause a loss of team cohesion,
resulting in poor decision-making, and
possibly causing most startups to fail.
NINE OUT OF TEN
startups are failing!

OUR HYPOTHESIS
5. OUR PROPOSAL
During a team’s difficult decision-making debates, we use the SPATZ APP to
caution poor behavior, in real-time. Behavior like overly dogmatic language,
getting personal or just getting angry. If acknowledged/resolved, we can
move on. But if the caution is challenged it gets escalated and can
eventually be reviewed by the Spatz AI & Startup Network, to help resolve.
6. By using the Spatz app we can build the data from the resolved and
unresolved results of team’s spats, disputes or founder conflicts, to
help investors predict and increase the probability of a team’s success.
MONITORING TEAMS’ RESOLVED & UNRESOLVED SPATZ STATUS
SPATZ AI & ML DATA
124 SPATS IN TOTAL - EXAMPLE ONLY
1) 75 (60.5%) SPATS - RESOLVED
2) 35 (28.2%) DISPUTES - RESOLVED *Escalated from Spats
3) 10 (8.1% ) CONFLICTS - RESOLVED *Escalated from Disputes
4) 3 (2.4% ) VOTES BY NETWORK – RESOLVED *Escalated from Conflicts
5) 1 (0.8% ) UNRESOLVED - RECOMMENDATION MADE BY NETWORK
PREDICTED SPATZ DATA BASELINE
7. Our initial focus is experimenting on startup accelerators and
incubators, supplying their batch of startup teams with the toolkit.
• Use the opportunity to start to gain data from the teams
• And generally study the toolkits effects and usage
