To Whom It May Concern;
It is my pleasure to personally recommend Nathan Dennis for a position within your organization.
Nathan possesses a strong work ethic and character that is fully capable of working well individually as
well as within a team structure. Having worked for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)
for over 24 years and hiring over 40 people, I express with confidence Nathan Dennis retains all the best
attributes an employee can have.
Nathan is very professional in both conduct and appearance. When work was assigned to him he
took notes, asked questions to ensure he had a full understanding of the project and met the very tight
deadlines this department often has. I found Nathan to be very driven and highly motivated. He pursued
every task with a sense of readiness, and was committed to meeting goals he set for himself. Nathan not
only impressed me as his supervisor, but also the managing staff. Those whom worked with
expressed how much they enjoyed working with him, and the successful implementation of his portion
assigned.
Nathan was a Financial Analyst intern under the Pathways Program for the Pension Benefit
Guaranty Corporation. During his tenure in the Corporate Finance and Restructuring Department
(CFRD), he was frequently requested by staff members and assisted in the development and maintenance
of several projects. He analyzed incoming reportable events to insure the accuracy of the financial and
actuarial information reported. This project enabled management and myself to assign cases in the most
efficient and effective manner. He also worked on PBGC's penalty assessment program. His assistance
helped us to determine when a penalty should be assessed, waived or reviewed and categorized for other
types of consideration. With the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation serving as a Federal Agency with
the responsibility of protecting more than 40 million American workers and Defined Benefit Pension
Plans, one is able to see how important these projects were.
On both of these projects, Nathan had to, and proved to be, a self -starter. He took it upon himself to learn
more about PBGC's vast programs as well as our role as the CFRD department. Most importantly he
2. researched and asked questions to fully grasp how financial and penalty considerations are determined.
These projects were detrimental to PBGC's penalty program and are a vital tool for ensuring that sponsors
of pension plans administer their plans as outlined by law.
As Deputy Director of CFRD, I was very pleased with Nathan and happy to hear accolades of his
strong work ethics and attention on the tasks assigned (even the menial ones). Nathan is organized and
diligent, clearly a top-performing individual. He has my highest recommendation, and I am happy to
furnish more details if you would like additional information.
With Regards,
Robert Bacon
