I am writing this letter in support of Maribel Rice. Mrs. Rice served in the capacity of Secretary to
the Superintendent/Registrar of Richland School District 88A from October 2007 to June 2013. As the
Superintendent, I was her direct supervisor.
In her tenure at Richland Mrs. Rice served a number of roles, executive secretary, registrar, and
recording secretary to the Board of Education In these role she has demonstrated the ability to register
several hundred students each year, ran the Office of the Superintendent, managed the minutes and records
of the Board of Education and the clerical duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Given my observation,
I found Mrs. Rice to be very organized and skilled in meeting the demands of her job. Further, Mrs. Rice
is detail oriented and was very efficient in completing tasks assigned to her. Specific examples of her
knowledge and skill level include her proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
as well as her ability to problem solve through researching challenges she was unfamiliar with.
I found Mrs. Rice highly competent in fulfilling the duties of her job. She worked well with faculty
and staff and maintained a very friendly demeanor when working with parents and/or members of the
community. To that end, I recommend her for any clerical position in an organization that is fortunate to
secure her professional services.
