A humble attempt to help YW quiz trainees!!
1.
2. As this is the first year with senior and junior
levels of YW, I don’t think any patterns which
the QM followed in previous years might be
kept. This is just a humble attempt to help
students preparing for YoungWorld Quiz.
Ready? Go blast the quiz!!!
3. 1.The QM always starts the prelims with an
ode to the date or the venue. So, note that.
Eg: In ‘11 the first q was about WWI.
‘What ended on 11-11 at 11 pm???’
( the quiz was on 11-11-2011)
4. 2.Pay attention to chart-topping Music, artists
and not to leave out, cartoons, especially those
in Cartoon network. Do a thorough research on
Tom and Jerry.
Q(‘12): What has an active mode, Time-out
mode, capture mode and self-destruct
mode???
=> OMNITRIX (ben 10)
6. Do a good research about eminent
personalities recently dead. (not VR Krishna
Iyer) but like U Srinivas.
P.S: listen to audio clippings of music
instruments and celebrities speaking about
other celebs.
7. Don’t forget to focus on mythology. Especially
The Mahabharata.
We got a question (that decided our fate as
well)
What was Vyasa’s condition on Ganesha being
his scribe AND what did Ganesha put as
another condition???
8. In the finals, He puts a very famous personality
behind the matrix.
If you qualify, make sure you leave no q
unanswered or else, it will become tougher to
guess this celeb.
For this year(jr.) he might put NaMo or Amit
Shah or Snowden or even
Zuckerberg.(exactly, IDK.)
9. The question which
broke my heart:
ID the painter and the
person
commemorated.
( MF Hussain did this in
memory of Lokmanya
Tilak. I got this wrong
and got -15. Don’t
repeat my mistake,
people. Don’t jump
into conclusions at
the first sight, but be
quick, or else….
10. The QM might also ask nursery rhyme
questions like what happened to little Miss
Muffet or to spell a word. He once asked to
spell Mozambique.
Also, pay attention to Indian politics. In ‘12, he
asked ,’which party had the symbol of the
biggest terrestrial animal?’
=>BSP
11. Keep your eyes open for what’s the question.
They are often, very tricky.
The question for us (or rather, answer) was:
‘Ashi Jestun Pema’.
The question to it was, ‘Who is the current
queen of Bhutan?’
12. GOOD NEWS, BOYS!!!
Research on car logos. The QM put up this
logo and asked us to ID. Thanks to Anant, we
got this. (the answer is Bentley)
13. Above all this, pray to lord
Almighty to give you what
you deserve and what he
desires. Let his will be
done.
14. I expect each one of
you to return from
AJ hall with the
much-coveted Yw
trophy and other
goodies, just like
this one sitting in my
mantelpiece.
Best of luck, people!
