This is the first verse of Jason Mraz I’m Yours. From these lyrics we can break
down that he has met a girl and he can’t keep his cool around her and he breaks
down in her presence. And as he has fallen for this girl based on the opening
lyrics we know that he has falling for her pretty hard and he is trying to get his
life back on track.
“Before the cool done run out I'll be giving it my bestest, (0:30-0:35)
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention, (0:35-0:37)
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some” (0:37-0:44)
From this next verse it could be suggesting that he is going to do his best to win
this girl over and nothing is going to get in his way. From the lyric “divine
intervention” this shows how passionate he is about this female as he is basically
saying that it is going to take a miracle to stop him in his path.
“But I won't hesitate no more, no more (0:44-0:50)
It cannot wait, I'm yours”(0:50-0:58)
From this very short verse it could be suggesting that he isn’t going to hesitate no
more and he is going to give it everything he has got as he feels he cannot wait no
more as he feels he is hers.
“Well open up your mind and see like me, (1:10-1:13)
Open up your plans and damn you're free, (1:13-1:16_
Look into your heart and you'll find love love love love” (1:16-1:22)
From this verse we can see that he is trying to tell her that she needs to open her
mind and view the world how he says the world along with telling her if she
opens her plans then she is free to do what she wants. Then it ends with him
asking her to look into her heart so that she can find love, judging by the song we
know that he is in love with this girl and he is asking her to give him a chance.

In this verse he us stating that everyone is friendly and like family which is why
people are dancing and singing to the music. He is also stating strongly that
everyone has a right to be loved, which is emphasised with “loved” x5.

Once again he is suggesting that he cannot wait any longer as he is deeply in love
with this woman. He is saying this doesn’t need to be complicated as he feels
their time is short and it is fate that they get together as he is hers.
“D-d-do do you, but do you, d-d-do, (2:03-2:07)
But do you want to come on, (2:07-2:09)
Scooch on over closer dear, (2:09-2:12)
And I will nibble your ear” (2:12-2:15)
This verse is very flirtatious as he is asking her to come over to him and get
really close to him whilst he nibbles her ear. This to me suggests that he is very
flirtatious and wants to show her this.
“I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror, (2:28-2:32)
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer, (2:32-2:35)
But my breath fogged up the glass, (2:35-2:38)
And so I drew a new face and I laughed” (2:38-2:41)
For me this verse is suggesting that he at first is trying to take his appearance to
seriously but after time he realises he is being silly which is shown when he fogs
up the glass and draws a new face on the glass which makes him laugh.
“I guess what I be saying is there ain't no better reason, (2:41-2:45)
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons, (2:45-2:48)
It's what we aim to do, our name is our virtue” (2:48-2:54)
This is saying that for him there isn’t any better reason for them to give it a try
and all that she has to do is open up her options to more people and go along
with what she wants to do. He also mentions that it is of good nature to do what
they aim to do.

It cannot wait, I'm yours” (3.01-3:08)
Once again this is showing that he isn’t going to hesitate no more and he is going
to give it everything he has got as he feels he cannot wait no more as he feels he
is hers.

From this verse we get the understanding that he wants her to open up her mind
and view the world in the way that he sees it. He then tells her to always keep
her plans open and she will be free to do whatever. Finally he tells her that if she
looks into her heart then the sky will be hers.

In this verse he is saying once again that they don’t need to hesitate about giving
