दाक्ष्यं शौचभमतत ज्ञेयं वैद्ये गुणचतुष्टयम ् ||

Caraka also mentioned about physician as
pranabhisara, royal physician and Dr-pt relationship.

8. IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICIAN
कारणं षोडशगुणं भसद्धौ पादचतुष्टयम ् |
ववज्ञाता शाभसता योक्द्ता प्रधानं भिषगर तु ||
(च .सू .9 /10)
Though quadruped of therapeutics in all, equipped
with 16 qualities are responsible for success in
treatment yet the physician, by virtue of his knowledge ,
administrative position and by prescribing capacity,
occupies the most important position among them.

9. Doctor patient relation
मैरी कारुण्यमातेषु शक्द्ये प्रीततरुपेक्षणम् |
प्रकृ ततस्थेषु िूतेषु वैद्यवृवत्तश्चतुववयधेतत ||
• Doctor should be sympathetic and kind to all patients
•Concerned with those who are likely to be cured
•Feel detached with those who are towards death.
ववद्या ववतको ववज्ञानं स्मृततस्तत्परता क्रिया |
यस्यैते षड्गुणास्तस्य न साध्यमततवत्तयते ||
Knowledge, critical approach, insight into other allied science,
good memory, promptness and perseverance.

तस्माच्छास्रेऽथयववज्ञाने प्रवृत्तौ कमयदशयने |
