Plot 4.3 Scotland’s Housing Expo
This project is for three affordable housing units
within a site of over twenty plots, all exemplifying
the cutting edge of affordable and sustainable
design in Scotland. Since winning our plot in an
open design competition we have been working
with Albyn Housing Association and William Gray
Construction to realise the project on site and the
housing fair is due to open in August 2010.
Our design was based on the view that
contemporary housing, whilst being
technologically advanced in use of materials,
design techniques and passive systems, should
be simple in use. We avoided mechanical
and user intensive devices to create a restful,
versatile and instinctive environment to promote
micro-community and personal well being. The
advanced features of our houses will be built in,
not bolted on.
