2. Goodwin thought about the relationship between the lyrics and the visuals in
the music video. The images shown shows a literal representation of what the
narrative is about and how it links to the lyrics of the song. For example when
certain images are played along certain lyrics it emphasises the meaning of
what is going on in the narrative. For example Ed Sheeran’s song A team the
video is what identifies the song is about a drug problem.

3. Archer said that there is a need for a strong coherent relationship between a
narrative and a performance. So not all the video will be narrative or
performance it will be a mix of both performance and narrative. The narrative
shows what the song is about whilst the performance shows the connection to
the music

4. Levi Straus argued that in Narative’s binary opposites where always portrayed
to show where the narrative is going and it gives the audience the chance to
pick a side in the narrative. Normally the binary opposites are good and bad
or love and heart break in the indie genre for example in Olly Murs video for
Dear Darlin. The image shows both love and heart break.
