Forward Unto Dawn

1. The Video logo is the first shot of the movie and comes accompanied with the iconic Microsoft
studio’s backing music/sound.

2. The second Video logo then comes after showing another company which worked with Microsoft.
No visuals are yet present.
First visual appears. The visual consists of a wide panning shot over the debris of a ship. The sound
has a low echoing bass and what sounds like a woman sending a radio transmission which for fan’s
of the series gets you drawn straight in as it is the voice of one of the iconic characters “cortana”
First ‘opening credit’ is visible. The main star of the film is the first to appear. Now the visuals show
the inside of the ship with the transmission signal now becoming clearer to hear and now being
possible to understand all that has been said. A blue light is visible showing that there must be some
source of power or life on the ship. This takes the fan’s of the series back to where the series ended
at the end of “halo 3” The atmosphere has become tense due to the floating debis and the low bass

3. still resonationg in your ears. Wide shot of the inside of the ship.
The visuals cut to what appears to be some sort of control panel which has been frosted over. For
fans of the series this adds to the idea that the ship which was left floating inspace has been there
for a long time but that “cortana” is still present. The dialogue is now clear and appears to be a
distress call. Another main star is shown in the credits and the low bass becomes more distorted.
Making the viewers heart beat start to increase due to the pace of the film increasing. Close up on
the control panel.

4. Another control panel is visible and the scenario is much similar to before with a mid shot of the
control panel.
Extreme close up on the same control panel as before now making the text on it visible. This shot
gets the fans of the series excited . the distress call previously said that there was survivors and now
this shot is present the atmosphere changes from tense to excitement as the fans all know who the
one survivor is. The low bass again continues and the dialogue continues .
close up from the side of a helmet. This for all the fans gets the viewer excited as this is the main
character of the series. The dialogue remains and is still in the form of a distress call. The low bass
has now been joined by what sounds like Decompression. This all adds to the atmosphere of the
scene and more instruments start to be added to the music at the end fastening the pace of the
movie and drawing you further in.

5. Extreme close up of the front visor of “master Cheif” the main character. A violin now is apparent on
the background music along with the bass and the dialogue still continues becoming clearer.
