1. Process Journal #4
February/28th/2011/Monday
Shaping and Sanding the Doorstop
What I did
Today, I finished shaping it and I started to sand the doorstop. I used a flat file, a file card, gents saw, a vice, a sand disk, and a pedestal drill. I finished shaping the doorstop. I putted a whole to look like a key. I used a gents saw to make the grip of the key. It almost looked like a real key. Except it was too big.
Diagram
This part is when I was cleaning of the file with a file card. This part is when a drilling a whole in my doorstop using the pedestal drill. This part is when I was sand disking my round part with a sand disk. This part is when I was getting rid of my sharp places with a flat file.
The next day, I am going to finish sanding and start to paint my doorstop.
Emotion
Today, I was not really happy because I got to little wounds in my hand. However, I enjoyed making a doorstop.
Learner Profile
I was a risk taker and I was a thinker. I was a risk taker because I was using the sand disk and the whole puncher the first time today. I was a thinker because I was thinking, “How will I finish my project with not hearting my self.”
AOI
The AOI was a human ingenuity because I hearted my self and I made my doorstop physically.
