2. Survey Compact-Ques. 1 Did you live in this area before the shopping center was constructed? Many people did not live in the area because the mall is over 40 years old.
3. Ques. 2 If so, what was the area like before the shopping center was built? For the people who lived in the area before the mall was constructed, they said the area was less populated, peaceful, and had less noise.
4. Ques. 3 What problems do you notice that are associated with the shopping center (noise, traffic, etc.)? The most common problem was traffic, but some of the minor problems were noise pollution, drama, accidents, and strict security.
5. Ques. 4 Is the shopping center’s interior aesthetically pleasing to you? Most people said yes because they usually like to go to the shoe stores, food court, etc. For the people that said no, they just didn’t like what the mall had to offer. 11. Percentage of Parking Lot The percentage of the parking lot is covered in 90% of cars.
12. Water Flow All the water in the front and back parking lot flows into the sewage drains that are in the parking lot.
13. View The area is not aesthetically pleasing to me because the mall is old and it doesn’t have much of a good view.
14. Problems Most of the respondents were concerned about the noise pollution, accidents, and traffic because these thingsjust bring in police and more security. I noticed that some of the problems were heavy pollution from the exhausts of cars and noise pollution from the same cars.
15. Solutions These problems can be solved by having a policy of no loud music and putting a limit of cars in the parking lot.
16. Stores Small shopping centers are better than the large ones because, they have the things most people want. Ex. Footaction, Footlocker, etc.
17. Conclusion In conclusion, South DeKalb Mall is an old but unique shopping center. All the trees that are in the parking lot are slightly new, but the trees outside the parking lot are historically old.
