Absolutely!
S = Specific
                               The goal is well defined

                               M = Measurable
The goal is obtainable and standards are made to know how far away before completion

                                A = Attainable
   The goal should challenge you to do your best, but they need also be achievable

                                  R = Realistic
          Is the goal within the availability of resources, knowledge and time

                              T = Time Bound
                  There should be enough time to achieve the goal.
              Be careful, too much time can affect project performance.
Create Objectives!
Goal                                 Objective
 I want to lose 10 pounds by January 1st. I will jog the neighborhood daily for 1
                                                  hour.

 I want to pass my History class with an „A‟ I will study for 2 hours each night.
    by the end of the semester.

 I want an organized closet by the start Within the next 2 weeks, I will donate
    of Winter. all clothes unworn within the last year.

 I want to start my own catering business by I will create a business plan within the
    January 1st.                                  next 6-months.
“It’s time to join
      forces!”
7 things you can do to help
     manage stress while
      achieving goals…
 Make a weekly written chronological list of
    what is important starting with “TODAY!”

 Update your To-Do-List when necessary.

     This helps with removing unnecessary
              clutter in the mind.
   Watching television
   Waiting in long lines
   Waiting in doctor‟s office
 Anything you are doing that is unproductive

    This helps with completing small tasks, and allows you
       to check-off your To-Do-List throughout the day.
        This also creates feelings of accomplishment!
 Utilize your support systems to ask for help

 Accept help when help is offered

             This helps with goal achievement
    while managing stress. Even better -this also helps with
     networking. No one knows what you are working on
                 unless you communicate it!
 Document daily thoughts, feelings, processes, defeats and
    accomplishments.

   Read past journal entries.

         Journaling allows yourself to recap past thoughts,
          feelings and achievements in efforts for you to
             re-pat yourself on the back for continued
                  motivation and encouragement.
 Take a moment throughout your day for yourself.

 “Me-Time” is only used for the things you want
    to do.

 Enjoy the small steps of achievements -in efforts for you
    to have the strength to endure the BIGGER steps.

         This helps with revitalization!
 Do something productive on a daily basis to
    help satisfy an objective or goal.

 Again, update your To-Do-List if necessary.

            This helps eliminate set-backs
             and falling behind on tasks.
When it‟s all said and done, you can only do so
   much. When you feel yourself becoming
   over-exerted, take time to relax, and allow
            yourself to re-group your
 thoughts, goals, objectives and what your next
                 step should be.

 Remember, not all goals are written in stone.
  Redefining them may mean the difference
      between a happy life and misery.
 Increased   Motivation & Encouragement

 Effective   Decision-Making

 Better   Project Performance

 Interpersonal   Balance

 Enhanced     Quality of Life
