1. Character Profiles

Kalin Murr, age 24.
Tall, scrawny male. Long Dark hair, emerald green eyes and strong
facial features. Recognisable by a birthmark covering most of
his left hand. Outside he typically wears a formal red jacket,
a black or white under shirt (depending on his current
intentions), jeans and black boots. When working in his home he
will typically wear a white lab coat, black pants and formal shoes,
his black under shirt will sometimes be visible.
Kalin has a calm outlook on life and shows respect to all that
he meets. He (apparently) will never resort to violence due to
being a pacifist but will always defend his privacy and work and
will often snap at those who pry to much into his personal research
or affairs.
To the people of his town Kalin is the respectable doctor who
is trusted unconditionally by his patients, to the rest of the
world he is a famous pharmacist who has cured several huge viral
outbreaks worldwide. To the hero of the story he is begins as
an idol, later a friend, and finally an nemesis.
Kalin plays the main antagonist and a partial protagonist role
as a pharmacist and doctor who vowed to cure his younger sisters
cancer by any means.
He spent many years researching cancers and their cures but could
never complete a universal cure.
Money soon became an issue, this kind of research became very
expensive to fund. Kalin began concocting a deadly virus and
spreading it around the town and in densely populated areas such
as airports. Once this virus (Toxin K-36 or Nauseact) was
widespread enough, Kalin released a vaccine which he has prepared
at the same time as the virus. Kalin was once again hailed as
a hero and given enough funding to last a lifetime, although many
people were killed by this virus - including the hero’s sister.
A few years pass and after realising that no drug can permanently
prevent the cell destruction brought upon by stronger cancers,
such as his sisters case, he sought out alternative measures.
He later discovers that the healing properties of Cephalopods
allow them to heal by replacing and regenerating lost cells to
2. replace lost limbs.
He is one day approached by a young man, the hero of the story
who had been trying to track him down since the Toxin K-36 outbreak
which Kalin had secretly caused and had killed the hero’s sister.
The hero had even studied medicine in the hopes that he could
one day work along side the man who cured the world, and killed
his sister. Reluctantly, Kalin allows the hero to work briefly
in his surgery but is surprised and moved at his determination
during this time and allows him to stay but refuses to let him
near his research
With time running out for his sister, Kalin needed to speed up
the research and had to skip the animal testing stages and moving
straight onto human testing an act that is very illegal. No sane
person would dare volunteer for such dangerous experimentation
ans so Kalin enlisted the help of a group of hitmen to kidnap
subjects for testing. Soon the kidnappings become countrywide
news and a plague for the town, people were afraid to go out at
night and locked themselves away, the once fishing town was
slowly turning into a ghost town.
After 2 of the hero’s friends go missing, the hero begins hunting
for the the kidnappers to protect his new love interest and find
his friends, after a long hunt the hero is finally captured and
brought back to his place of work.
Kalin, upon seeing the hero dosent suspect him of being a subject
and instead commends him for working to such a late hour but orders
him to go home - leaving the main character suspicious.
Kalin continues his research unaware that the hero is gradually
discovering his dark past.
With the deadline approaching, the hero finally confronts Kalin
in Kalin’s rented apartment . Kalin admits creating Toxin K-36
and kidnapping his friends to save his own sister. The “hero”
then attacks Kalin in a fit of pure primal rage and destroys every
bit of this cursed research, only stopping when he notices a
smashed framed picture which contains a picture of Kalin and his
younger sister, his new love interest, whom he had prayed for
before coming to avenge is own sibling. Kalin, unable to move,
asks as his dying wish for the hero to deliver the completed cure
to his sister and finally dies.
