Essay Proposal For Teenage Pregnancy
A Modest Proposal to a Tragic End to Teen Pregnancy With One Little Needle See a young mother
the age of sixteen; with her baby living off welfare and begging for more assistants. Teen
pregnancy overall is a raped on going occurrences in our society. Teen girls cannot just rely on
themselves, these girls rely on their parents and/or the state. Having a child just brings more
complication into their lives. To help stop this ongoing occurrences by law, the state should have to
sew up the vagina of all young girls from the age twelve to twenty–five and married. My mom
learned the hard way with having a baby while still in school, she told me how stressful it was to
do her school work, raise a child and work full time without even having the baby's dad to help or
her parents. The show "Teen Mom" shows the struggle of having to grow and give up on
opportunities because of one mistake. Not only does this affect the mother but it also affects the
child that will have to grow up with one parent or hardly getting by or watching the stress eat way at
their parents. Firstly, the pregnancy rate is outrageous and...show more content...

the decisions not only what they want for themselves but also the life of their child. I go to school
with many teen moms and let me tell you they are the best people you could meet. In my votech
class there is a student having her second child (didn't learn from the first one), but she is so ahead
instead of waiting the last minute she has finish almost everything. So therefore not all teen moms

During the teenage years, there are raging hormones, social acceptance conflicts, developing
feelings for the opposite sex, the list can go on for days! The older population tends to have
opinions about MTV's hit show, 16 and pregnant. Some critics say it promotes unprotected sex and
has girls thinking it is acceptable to be pregnant young. 16 and pregnant has its flaws, but overall it
shows the important message that pregnancy is hard, no matter the age but especially so young.
These mothers suffer from depression, social unacceptance, and often times bullying. The t.v show
proves how difficult it is to have a child so young, and overall tends to discourage it.
There are campaigns out there to prevent teen pregnancy and overall demote it. Some would like to

Financially, emotionally and physically, it is tiring. For example, Kailyn Lowry, shown on 16 and
pregnant and teen mom, was exhausted and stressed throughout the show. From fighting with her
son's father constantly because they were both extremely immature, to being married and with a
second child, not much has changed. She still gets stressed, and financially can support them, but
she cannot afford daycare to pursue her dreams and getting a higher education degree. The show
also shows whether you are 16, or 25, you are not always going to be prepared for motherhood.
With all that being said, motherhood is difficult, and protection should always be used unless you
are 100% ready. With watching the show, and working with children daily, It has personally
helped me make better choices and not do what everyone else does. Teen mom provides such a
realistic view of what motherhood so young can be like. Decreasing birth rates in the United States
is a plus, as well as preventing this with campaigns. Hopefully one day I can participate in a
campaign like that to provide

Dilemma Of Teenage Pregnancy Essay
The Dilemma of a Pregnant Teenage
In the world of today, one of the most predominant controversies, we have been facing for decades
is 'Teenage Pregnancy'. Teenage pregnancy, affects different aspects of life, the newborn, mother
and family of the teenagers involved. Few people believe that the society should be reprimanded.
But I believe the society, should not take all the blame. In spite of societal blames, teens having
unprotected/protected sex and getting pregnant are personal decisions. There is just a little that any
society can do to avert such activities. In today's world teenage pregnancy could be precluded and
reduced by giving them the appropriate education on sex, why it is important for them to refrain
from any sexual...show more content...
In Western countries, their society has less restriction; a girl of fifteen years can have a boyfriend
and more liberation; a girl and boy can go on dates. On the contrary, some if not all the Third World
countries, have lots of restraints in their society; no boyfriends allowed until school (high school,
college, and university) is completed and there is much less liberation; no going to the movies with
boys or partying with boys. However, there are few concepts that keep increasing the rate of teen
pregnancy such as too little or too much, rules, constraints on movements, keeps making things
worse for any change towards teen pregnancy around the world.
A number of Western nations are still going through an increase rate of teenage pregnancies. This
tends to have a disadvantageous result on both mother and child, likewise their physical and
emotional welfare. These young teen parents face adulthood at a tender age, by quitting school to
nurse the baby and then if no support from their parents, they would have to join the work force, so
they can provide for their child. Some teenagers have a good support system from their families and
the government, which is good but it defeats the point of them understanding that what they did was
inappropriate for their age. Jennifer Gaudie et al (2010), say that Australia rank eleven, out of the 30

Teen Pregnancy has been a controversial topic long since before the 1960's. Some may believe it's
a sin against God because you're pregnant out of wedlock, while others may believe you put yourself
in the situation, so now you can deal with the consequences. The decrease in teen pregnancies,
causes the belief, that the access to contraceptives is lowering teen pregnancy rates. People and
places are trying to lower the rate of teen pregnancy, which include the history, causes, effects,
prevention and the current situation. Teen pregnancy has hit a historical low state, Roberts "Less

That brings us into our next discussion, about the healthcare industry. Kristof points out, "In
Texas, a mother is ten times more likely to die compared to a woman in Spain" (Kristof 1). This

living opposed to giving birth in the United States. The insanity of the situation is mind blowing,
because many childern growing up in the US were lead to believe through news and people around
them, that the United States' health care was amazing and so helpful. Though, the more they grow

Teen pregnancy is a problem in the United States. Bringing a child into the world while you are 15
to 17 years old is not the brightest idea. Everyone with an education developmentation should not
have a child at a young age. Maybe you should stay in school and wait until you are out of school to
have sexual intercourse and have a child. When you are 15–16 having sex is illegal.
Studies show that 229,715 babies are born from women aged 15 to 19, for birth rate of 22.3 per
1,000 women in that age group. The teen rates have decreased from 2014 to 2015 for all races
including Hispanics. 15 to 19 for birth rates have decreased examples are: 10% Asian and Pacific
Landers, 9% for blacks, 8% for Hispanics. In 2010, teen pregnancy and childbirth accounted for at
least 9.4 billion cost for the U.S. Taxpayers increased for health care and Foster cares.
Ladies ask yourselves some questions: Do you want to put your education on hold? How will
you make enough money for you and your kids health? Is it worth it to have sex rather than to
have you education? How will you get a good job to support yourself and your kid? Taking care of
a child is hard work not everyone can be a perfect or at least average parent. Help yourself because
when you are 15 to 17 you are still a child until 18 years old. All the money that you spend on to
take care of a child can be spent for your health care and can be saved for your needs. When you
are in that age group you are probably uneducated or unemployed. Also just because someone is a
teen mom doesn't mean you should judge them it means you should help around, I know that I will
never understand the precautions of being a teen mom but I will always know that helping makes it
way better than it is. Don't shame teen moms. Some are raped and don't believe in abortion.
It is not their fault. Personally, I know that I don't like abortion. If you have been raped or sexually
harassed, then you should talk to a trusted friend or family member and get some professional
counseling. Not all teen moms are immature, crude, unemployed, and uneducated. I don't even
understand why it is legal to have sex while you are 16 years old. I don't think we are mature
enough to do things like that

We live in an age where teenage pregnancy appears to be glorified by the media. Shows like, Teen
Mom, 16 and Pregnant, and The Secret Life of an American Teenager sugarcoat the bitter reality that
is life for young girls who have unexpectedly found themselves with child. In the real world, teen
moms don't get million dollar deals or public displays of empathy, they receive ostracization,
criticism, and a child who more often than not is born into unfavorable circumstances. Getting
pregnant as a teenager is beyond easy. Raging hormones, the complete and utter lack of proper sexual
education, in conjunction with the rising difficulties of obtaining birth control provides an
environment which allows teenage pregnancy to thrive. Although getting pregnant as a teenager is
easy, being a pregnant teenager is not. If more teenagers genuinely understood the difficulties
accompanied with having unprotected sex and ending up as a pregnant teenager, they might be
more inclined to seek some form of birth control. Getting pregnant as a teenager has a tendency to

What is Teen Pregnancy? Teenage pregnancy is pregnancy in human females under the age of 20.
A girl can become pregnant from sexual intercourse after she has begun to ovulate which can be
before her first menstrual period, but usually occurs after the onset of her periods. In well–nourished
girls, menarche usually takes place around the age of 12 or 13. Most teenage girls don 't plan to get
pregnant, but many do. Teen pregnancies carry extra health risks to both the mother and the baby.
Often, teens don 't get prenatal care soon enough, which can lead to problems later on. They have a
higher risk for pregnancy–related high blood pressure and its complications. Risks for the baby
include premature birth and a low birth weight. The numbers of teenage pregnancy are very high
but when you think about the numbers most could have been prevented with the use of protection.
Some people may not afford condoms but if you cannot afford a condom you cannot afford a baby.
Children from homes ran by teenage mothers go through a hard time in life. Teenage mothers have
no time for other things, because they are busy taking care of their baby. Most teen mothers end up
dropping out of high school, because they do not have time for school anymore. Research shows
that reducing the number of births to teens and increasing the age at which a women gives birth
yields significant cost savings for the public sector. Efforts to reduce teen pregnancy are mainly

Persuasive Essay About Teen Pregnancy
Teen pregnancy......what comes in mind when you hear the words "Teen Pregnancy"? Well, teen
pregnancy are young female girls that become pregnant under the age of 20. A female can become
pregnant from having sexual intercourse and after she have started to ovulate. Young female girls
will become pregnant without even thinking about the consequences and the type of environment
the baby will be in. Not because the young mother is poor or rich, but because they're not ready to
take care of another human being. Not to mention, pregnant teens are young themselves, so their also
growing. There are plenty of problems that are the cause of teen pregnancy, and many of those
problems can be solved.
One reason for teen pregnancy is the lack of information that is given to students in middle and high
school about sex and how to prevent it from happening. Also, the lack amount of talks from parents
that they can give to their teen. I wouldn't say there isn't any education given out to students about
sex, but there isn't ENOUGH to make pre–teens and teens to fully understand and have the right
mind set about sex. Many schools won't really focus on the topic about teen pregnancy because it
really doesn't have much about academics and that's really understandable, but at the end of the day
teens are also human and do make mistakes. I believe schools should give education about teen
pregnancy as much as the other subjects. The topic of teen pregnancy shouldn't be left out because
talking to your teen about sex can definitely influence their lifestyle. Many teens would learn about
sex in the streets which it totally horrible because 9/10, the streets will educate them to have sex
rather than not to. The solution to this problem is that parents and schools should educate their teens
/students with more education about teen pregnancy, so that the number pregnant teens can decrease
in near future.
Another reason for teen pregnancy is social media. Social media can have a huge impact on how
teens can view their lives by influencing them with a different kind of lifestyle. Not to mention,
teens can easily be brainwashed by what they see on there and think what they see on social media
is good, is actually wrong. Social media will have

Although the teen pregnancy rate has declined some, it remains a major problem in the state of
Arkansas. It is a social problem that is affecting all communities in some Arkansas cities. With
Arkansas topping the charts with a high rate of teenage pregnancy, something needs to be done.
There are not enough prevention programs in the state to help these young women. Out of all the
young teens that have become pregnant, they usually had no want to become mothers. Arkansas
should have more sex education programs for teenagers because it will curb teenage pregnancy by
providing teenagers with the information and guidance they need to know about sex.

The lack of knowledge about sex first starts with the teen's parents. Most parents are afraid or too
busy to talk to their teens about sex because they feel that talking about sex will make the child
want to have sex. With this mindset, it leaves teens to get the wrong information about sex from
videos, movies, and friends, which could cause the teen to become pregnant. It is a known fact
that besides the fear and time not allowing that some parents do not know what age they should
start talking to their children about sex. According to Louanne Weston, Ph.D., parents have always
are the question, "How old should a child be before we start talking about sext?" The answer to
that question is "Younger than you think" stated Louanne Weston, Ph.D. (2006). There is no wrong
or right age to start talking to your child about sex, children are curious by nature and parents when
asked no matter the age should never avoid a "teachable moment" when asked a question by a child
(Weston 2006). As the child goes older you should have an open door policy with the teenager so
that they will be like they can talk to you about anything, including sex.
With the high teenage pregnancy rate plaguing Arkansas, the state according to Talk Business &
Politics has spent "$143 million annually" to take care of teen mothers (2017). The $143 million
price tag includes the cost of healthcare for the teenager, which mostly include the teen receiving

Let's Prevent Teen Pregnancy Together I was a senior in high school. My boyfriend and I had
been together for almost 2 years. We attempted to practice safe sex but that cost money and neither
of us had a job since we both played sports and didn't have the time. I didn't feel comfortable talking
to my mom about sex or birth control. I came from a Christian family and sex was not something
we talked about out loud, it was just expected that I would wait till I was married. So instead my
boyfriend and I tried other methods we thought would keep us from getting pregnant. I was 17 years
old when I got pregnant. We both thought we would be able to prevent pregnancy without using any
form of contraceptives. I wasn't alone in getting pregnant in high school, out of my small group
of friends in high school 3 out of the 7 of us became pregnant before graduation. We all came from
good family's and lived in nice homes is a nice suburb of Arizona. Teen pregnancy is a serious

Having children at a young age has been an epidemic throughout the world for many centuries now.
Even though the severity of the issues may be slightly different depending on the region, it still
affects all nationalities. Unfortunately in undeveloped countries arranged marriage for young
females continues to this very day so they can start a family of their own. Luckily, The United
States of America has been able to decrease adolescents conceiving at a young age which was
noticed back in 2005. Since this is so, actions have been taken to potentially abolish the issue of
teenage pregnancy, however there are more steps to drastically change this issue in society. This was
possible due to the programs that help educate the youth of all the possibilities that could result from
having intercourse. Teenage pregnancy is deeply embedded and encouraged in most nations and as
such a comprehensive effort to continue changing the culture is necessary. All countries suffer from
teenage pregnancy and many factors contribute to this making them extremely relatable. In
developing countries, it can solely be that they do not have the proper education or equipment to
substantially prepare them for certain situations. Early marriages and traditional gender roles may
also be a blame to teenage pregnancy in these undeveloped countries. Whereas in developed
countries, it is difficult for the government to support certain teaching methods, leaving most
individuals misinformed of all consequences that may arise due to their actions. With this being
said, many teenagers begin to practice sexual activities at a young age and since they think the
results will be harmless. In all actuality, there are severe health risks for the mother and also the
child, in some cases it may even lead to death.
Teenage females throughout the world face the same complications during pregnancy and birth that
can lead to traumatic results. These complications can vary, however young girls are prone to them
because their bodies are not fully developed. Most females are incapable of gaining adequate weight
in order to support their child's nutritional growth and development. Also, some of these teenagers
lack a support system so they have no guidance

The constant rise of adolescent fertility across nations has proven to be a major contributing factor
to a cycle of dependency which deteriorates economic growth. Evidently, the younger generation
represents the larger population of Belize and as suggested by a report, commissioned by the United
Nations, Belize encompasses the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the Caribbean followed by
Guyana and Jamaica. Based on the media perspective, teenage pregnancy is a rising issue in Belize
that should be taken more seriously. It's an epidemic ruining lives and perpetuating poverty.

However, due to educational programs such as "YES, IT VET, CET and Social Services"
opportunities for upliftment becomes possible. These programs are designed to educate and
prepare young individuals for a better life. Secondly, the media highlights the contributing factors
of teenage pregnancy. Based on a study done in South Africa, the inadequate knowledge of
contraception is a major factor contributing to teenage pregnancy. Parents are very hesitant when it
comes to educating their children about sex and the use of contraception. The majority believe that
their children will eventually learn on their own as time pass by or they don't believe children
should even know about adult activities since sex and contraceptive usage is considered an "adult
thing." Lacking the knowledge of sex and contraceptive usage can definitely lead to teenage
pregnancy because both parties are unaware of the consequence that follows their actions. Another
factor is alcohol and vanity. Luxurious lifestyles cause most teenagers to sadly stumble unto the
path of prostitution as well and often becoming impregnated and drop out of school. Being a mom
at an early age due to fast living can also lead to contraction of life–threatening diseases such as HIV
/AIDS which could also be an addition to teenage pregnancy. Having been sick with HIV/AIDS and
pregnant is not the combination any mother would ever dream about especially

Teenage Pregnancy has been a problem over the past decade, that is ruining teenagers lives and
causing immense amounts of stress that could easily be avoided. 2/5 teen American girls will get
pregnant at least once before age 20, in that only 40% of teen mothers graduate high school. We
should not waste our time creating unnecessary classes students may not pay attention to, but create
a solution that can get rid of teenage pregnancy and stop it in its tracks. As of March of 2016, all
states are somehow involved in sex education for public schoolchildren. This education is a huge
waste of time and money in classes, as 47% of high school students reported having sexual
intercourse regardless (ReCapp). No teenage girl needs to deal with the unwanted stress of a child,
and no parent wants to be a grandparent so young. I have a simple proposal to fix these issues and

population by completely exterminating it. Sterilizing a woman, even temporarily until adulthood,
is the only sure way to prevent pregnancies. Children can not be trusted with the responsibility of

India was not the only country to perform sterilization. Our very own home country of America was

Pregnancy among adolescents has been a registered ongoing issue ever since the early 1950s. There
are many key aspects to teenage pregnancy, such as historical details, causes & effects,
interventions, and relative theories associated with these aspects. This article will review and
explain each key aspect in detail, while also giving feedback and insight on different interventions
and available resources. Teenage pregnancy has become a roller coaster of an issue, especially since
the early 1950s. Between 1954 and 1960 the teenage birth rate was consistently 90 per 1000 births
(1). Teen birth rates in the early 1960s for 18–19 year old females were double what they are today
(2). This could be due to the fact that many people did marry at a younger age than the average
couple of today 's society (3). In 1990, the rate of teenagers becoming pregnant was 116.9 per 1000
females (4). From 1990–2010, teenage births rates dropped 51% (4). 34% of sexually active teens
reported having unprotected sex in 2005 (10). In 2010, the teenage birth rate was 57 per 1000 girls
ages 15–19 (roughly 614,000 pregnancies) (10). In 2010, $9.4 billion was spent on teen childbearing
(5). In 2011, the birth rate fell 8% for females ages 15–17 and 5% for females ages 18–19 (teens
became less sexually active and started using protection) (6). In 2012, a total of 305,388 infants

was pregnant first hand was a bittersweet but conversely a Kodak moment as well. During the first
couple of days I didn't know whether to ball up and cry or to be happy and exhilarated, I was 17 so I
didn't know how to be happy about me being with a fetus inside of me. "I have my whole life
ahead of me, this can't be real, why me?" I constantly asked myself while looking at the positive
pregnancy test. After finding out this shocking news I walked in the same room that my cousin
Kiana was patiently waiting in, and quietly said it's positive. Kiana gave me the ideal expression I
kind of hoped for and needed during the time–being but shortly after, I got the news that she was also
pregnant. When I first noticed my first sign of pregnancy when I started spotting, and increase of
hunger, I didn't think nothing of it but I slightly had a clue. A week goes by still going unnoticed
until the morning sickness stage hit. Waking up with morning sickness was one of the stages I had
an aversion to the most. I partially disliked this stage because not only was it morning sickness, but
because it was morning and afternoon sickness. Another reason is because it made me feel nauseous.
After the morning sickness stage, it encouraged me to get a pregnancy test.

of high school, do not receive their high school diploma, and party all night.
I can personally say being the child of a woman who raised me while she was 16 years old,who had
no help from no one during her pregnancy because she didn't want to have an abortion. Not only did
she graduate from high school, she worked two jobs and also earned her degree at the closest
community college that had a day care.
Stop bashing young mothers because they got pregnant out of wedlock or because they got
pregnant young. I am here not only because I am a daughter of a 36 year old woman who has been
through hell and back for me but I am here to let you know that being a teenage mother isn't the
easiest thing on earth when it comes to people and their negative judgement, how they are able to be
there for their children and still receive their education, and lastly and how things people say affect
them in the long run. Before you even think about judging a pregnant girl, know their story not how

Persuasive Essay About Teenage Pregnancy
Living in Flint , Michigan is exciting and honestly mind blowing. Every week or even everyday
you see new trends. These trends come and go just as fast as a person can rip their jeans they can
become pregnant. Webster's definition simply sums up a trend to be a general way of change that
evolves and becomes more common.
Many people may not see pregnancy as a trend but, if we took time to think about it, the acceptance
of pregnancy is in fact a trend. We as humans have this idea that if something occurs more than
normal then we must accept it because we have come to understand that we cannot change it or
we are simply too lazy to change it. Before a trend can become officially one person must set it .
After one person does it then the "monkey see monkey do" idea occurs. That one person doing
that one original or not normally seen thing sparks a chain reaction. In the city of Flint this began
maybe three years ago in the year of 2014. Even if we cross out the reasoning behind it the simple
fact is we don't change it. That nonoccurrence of change is exactly the reason there are so many
teenage pregnancies in Flint, Mi. If a change is what we seek then we cannot simply sit back and
say that's what we want. Change is an action word or a verb because in order to receive a change
you must want it bad enough to do anything necessary. These action include informing teens about
sex and safe sex. Although abstinence should be taught what happens if it's too late. Safe sex is still a

"One might say that reality television began in 1948 with Allen Funt's Candid Camera, which
featured the filming of real people as they reacted to annoying situations concocted by the show's
creators." (Maasik and Solomon) Next PBS launched reality television shows, followed by MTV.
Today a popular reality television show is 16 and Pregnant. It is an American reality television show
that aired since 2009. This reality television show portrays the stories of high school teenage
pregnant girls and the challenges that they go through. Each episode in the series shows a different
teenage girl when she about halfway through her pregnancy. When the baby is about three to four
months old the episode ends. According to critics, some say that it...show more content...
They do not come from rich families. We know that Maci works part–time with her father, while
Ryan works diesel mechanic during the night shift. They do not live in a luxury house, but in an
apartment that they both can afford. They have enough to survive for themselves and the baby to
come. Many things are gifts from family and friends, that she receives from the baby shower. At
one point Ryan tells her she does not need to buy anything more since they have enough already,
and they can save up for other things. Maci and Ryan encounter small conflicts and disagreements
during the pregnancy, that later on escalates into a major conflict. Family and friends are saying
at a BBQ that Ryan will need to attend father classes. He had never changed a diaper or even held
a baby before. She is 36 weeks pregnant and Ryan is not showing much interest when the topic is
the baby. There was an incident when they are on their way to a doctor's appointment and Ryan
believes he has a flat tire and makes Maci get out the car and check for herself. Note that she is
close to 38 weeks old and not able to get out and in the car so easily. His attitude at this point has
escalated. Maci takes one for the team and does not let it get over her and decided that when the
baby comes he'll know what to do and everything will be better. The major conflict

Teenage Pregnancy Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Essay Proposal For Teenage Pregnancy A Modest Proposal to a Tragic End to Teen Pregnancy With One Little Needle See a young mother the age of sixteen; with her baby living off welfare and begging for more assistants. Teen pregnancy overall is a raped on going occurrences in our society. Teen girls cannot just rely on themselves, these girls rely on their parents and/or the state. Having a child just brings more complication into their lives. To help stop this ongoing occurrences by law, the state should have to sew up the vagina of all young girls from the age twelve to twenty–five and married. My mom learned the hard way with having a baby while still in school, she told me how stressful it was to do her school work, raise a child and work full time without even having the baby's dad to help or her parents. The show "Teen Mom" shows the struggle of having to grow and give up on opportunities because of one mistake. Not only does this affect the mother but it also affects the child that will have to grow up with one parent or hardly getting by or watching the stress eat way at their parents. Firstly, the pregnancy rate is outrageous and...show more content... Here maybe not so much, but in Africa they can cause infections, STDs and disease from not sterilizing their equipment. Then going on there are many teen moms that are fantastic moms. They are still in school, the have a job, and they raise their child. They learn to grow up and make the decisions not only what they want for themselves but also the life of their child. I go to school with many teen moms and let me tell you they are the best people you could meet. In my votech class there is a student having her second child (didn't learn from the first one), but she is so ahead instead of waiting the last minute she has finish almost everything. So therefore not all teen moms are awful human beings they just make mistakes, but those who can't step and raise that child that's when it becomes a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On 16 And Pregnant During the teenage years, there are raging hormones, social acceptance conflicts, developing feelings for the opposite sex, the list can go on for days! The older population tends to have opinions about MTV's hit show, 16 and pregnant. Some critics say it promotes unprotected sex and has girls thinking it is acceptable to be pregnant young. 16 and pregnant has its flaws, but overall it shows the important message that pregnancy is hard, no matter the age but especially so young. These mothers suffer from depression, social unacceptance, and often times bullying. The t.v show proves how difficult it is to have a child so young, and overall tends to discourage it. There are campaigns out there to prevent teen pregnancy and overall demote it. Some would like to provide condoms and or birth control to...show more content... Financially, emotionally and physically, it is tiring. For example, Kailyn Lowry, shown on 16 and pregnant and teen mom, was exhausted and stressed throughout the show. From fighting with her son's father constantly because they were both extremely immature, to being married and with a second child, not much has changed. She still gets stressed, and financially can support them, but she cannot afford daycare to pursue her dreams and getting a higher education degree. The show also shows whether you are 16, or 25, you are not always going to be prepared for motherhood. With all that being said, motherhood is difficult, and protection should always be used unless you are 100% ready. With watching the show, and working with children daily, It has personally helped me make better choices and not do what everyone else does. Teen mom provides such a realistic view of what motherhood so young can be like. Decreasing birth rates in the United States is a plus, as well as preventing this with campaigns. Hopefully one day I can participate in a campaign like that to provide Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Dilemma Of Teenage Pregnancy Essay The Dilemma of a Pregnant Teenage In the world of today, one of the most predominant controversies, we have been facing for decades is 'Teenage Pregnancy'. Teenage pregnancy, affects different aspects of life, the newborn, mother and family of the teenagers involved. Few people believe that the society should be reprimanded. But I believe the society, should not take all the blame. In spite of societal blames, teens having unprotected/protected sex and getting pregnant are personal decisions. There is just a little that any society can do to avert such activities. In today's world teenage pregnancy could be precluded and reduced by giving them the appropriate education on sex, why it is important for them to refrain from any sexual...show more content... In Western countries, their society has less restriction; a girl of fifteen years can have a boyfriend and more liberation; a girl and boy can go on dates. On the contrary, some if not all the Third World countries, have lots of restraints in their society; no boyfriends allowed until school (high school, college, and university) is completed and there is much less liberation; no going to the movies with boys or partying with boys. However, there are few concepts that keep increasing the rate of teen pregnancy such as too little or too much, rules, constraints on movements, keeps making things worse for any change towards teen pregnancy around the world. A number of Western nations are still going through an increase rate of teenage pregnancies. This tends to have a disadvantageous result on both mother and child, likewise their physical and emotional welfare. These young teen parents face adulthood at a tender age, by quitting school to nurse the baby and then if no support from their parents, they would have to join the work force, so they can provide for their child. Some teenagers have a good support system from their families and the government, which is good but it defeats the point of them understanding that what they did was inappropriate for their age. Jennifer Gaudie et al (2010), say that Australia rank eleven, out of the 30 OECD countries in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Teen Pregnancy Teen Pregnancy has been a controversial topic long since before the 1960's. Some may believe it's a sin against God because you're pregnant out of wedlock, while others may believe you put yourself in the situation, so now you can deal with the consequences. The decrease in teen pregnancies, causes the belief, that the access to contraceptives is lowering teen pregnancy rates. People and places are trying to lower the rate of teen pregnancy, which include the history, causes, effects, prevention and the current situation. Teen pregnancy has hit a historical low state, Roberts "Less than forty percent of what is was at its modern peak in 1991"There was an average of "61.8 births per 1,000 girls 15 to 19 years old"[and] "In 2014, the rate...show more content... That brings us into our next discussion, about the healthcare industry. Kristof points out, "In Texas, a mother is ten times more likely to die compared to a woman in Spain" (Kristof 1). This proves to women that you have a higher chance of going to a different country to give birth and living opposed to giving birth in the United States. The insanity of the situation is mind blowing, because many childern growing up in the US were lead to believe through news and people around them, that the United States' health care was amazing and so helpful. Though, the more they grow up, they learn that it's not that great, that you can sit in a waiting room for hours and finally when it 's your turn to see the doctor, the doctor will see you for ten minutes and tell you something you've already known. As a teenager, it is terribly hard to obtain contraception without a parent present.Miller claims "In 2013, the FDA lifted the age restrictions for emergency contraception, and a lot of people thought, 'Great, we won, it 's over, and now it 's available and acceptable to anyone without any identification, "(Miller 1).With the lift of the age restrictions, you would think that emergency contraception would be easier to obtain, but all great things come to an end. • 5. Persuasive Speech On Teen Pregnancy Teen Pregnancy Teen pregnancy is a problem in the United States. Bringing a child into the world while you are 15 to 17 years old is not the brightest idea. Everyone with an education developmentation should not have a child at a young age. Maybe you should stay in school and wait until you are out of school to have sexual intercourse and have a child. When you are 15–16 having sex is illegal. Studies show that 229,715 babies are born from women aged 15 to 19, for birth rate of 22.3 per 1,000 women in that age group. The teen rates have decreased from 2014 to 2015 for all races including Hispanics. 15 to 19 for birth rates have decreased examples are: 10% Asian and Pacific Landers, 9% for blacks, 8% for Hispanics. In 2010, teen pregnancy and childbirth accounted for at least 9.4 billion cost for the U.S. Taxpayers increased for health care and Foster cares. Ladies ask yourselves some questions: Do you want to put your education on hold? How will you make enough money for you and your kids health? Is it worth it to have sex rather than to have you education? How will you get a good job to support yourself and your kid? Taking care of a child is hard work not everyone can be a perfect or at least average parent. Help yourself because when you are 15 to 17 you are still a child until 18 years old. All the money that you spend on to take care of a child can be spent for your health care and can be saved for your needs. When you are in that age group you are probably uneducated or unemployed. Also just because someone is a teen mom doesn't mean you should judge them it means you should help around, I know that I will never understand the precautions of being a teen mom but I will always know that helping makes it way better than it is. Don't shame teen moms. Some are raped and don't believe in abortion. It is not their fault. Personally, I know that I don't like abortion. If you have been raped or sexually harassed, then you should talk to a trusted friend or family member and get some professional counseling. Not all teen moms are immature, crude, unemployed, and uneducated. I don't even understand why it is legal to have sex while you are 16 years old. I don't think we are mature enough to do things like that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Argumentative Essay On Teenage Pregnancy We live in an age where teenage pregnancy appears to be glorified by the media. Shows like, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, and The Secret Life of an American Teenager sugarcoat the bitter reality that is life for young girls who have unexpectedly found themselves with child. In the real world, teen moms don't get million dollar deals or public displays of empathy, they receive ostracization, criticism, and a child who more often than not is born into unfavorable circumstances. Getting pregnant as a teenager is beyond easy. Raging hormones, the complete and utter lack of proper sexual education, in conjunction with the rising difficulties of obtaining birth control provides an environment which allows teenage pregnancy to thrive. Although getting pregnant as a teenager is easy, being a pregnant teenager is not. If more teenagers genuinely understood the difficulties accompanied with having unprotected sex and ending up as a pregnant teenager, they might be more inclined to seek some form of birth control. Getting pregnant as a teenager has a tendency to completely alters one's life focus. Teenage years are intended to be the years where selfish actions based in self interest are – while not encouraged – excused because the teenage years are supposed to be a time of self discovery. Pregnancy completely changes this. When a person intends to bring life into the world, they must understand that their previous priorities will be pushed to the sidelines if not completely abandoned Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Teen Pregnancy : Teenage Pregnancy Lauryn Jones Block 5 4/27/16 What is Teen Pregnancy? Teenage pregnancy is pregnancy in human females under the age of 20. A girl can become pregnant from sexual intercourse after she has begun to ovulate which can be before her first menstrual period, but usually occurs after the onset of her periods. In well–nourished girls, menarche usually takes place around the age of 12 or 13. Most teenage girls don 't plan to get pregnant, but many do. Teen pregnancies carry extra health risks to both the mother and the baby. Often, teens don 't get prenatal care soon enough, which can lead to problems later on. They have a higher risk for pregnancy–related high blood pressure and its complications. Risks for the baby include premature birth and a low birth weight. The numbers of teenage pregnancy are very high but when you think about the numbers most could have been prevented with the use of protection. Some people may not afford condoms but if you cannot afford a condom you cannot afford a baby. Children from homes ran by teenage mothers go through a hard time in life. Teenage mothers have no time for other things, because they are busy taking care of their baby. Most teen mothers end up dropping out of high school, because they do not have time for school anymore. Research shows that reducing the number of births to teens and increasing the age at which a women gives birth yields significant cost savings for the public sector. Efforts to reduce teen pregnancy are mainly focused Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay About Teen Pregnancy Teen pregnancy......what comes in mind when you hear the words "Teen Pregnancy"? Well, teen pregnancy are young female girls that become pregnant under the age of 20. A female can become pregnant from having sexual intercourse and after she have started to ovulate. Young female girls will become pregnant without even thinking about the consequences and the type of environment the baby will be in. Not because the young mother is poor or rich, but because they're not ready to take care of another human being. Not to mention, pregnant teens are young themselves, so their also growing. There are plenty of problems that are the cause of teen pregnancy, and many of those problems can be solved. One reason for teen pregnancy is the lack of information that is given to students in middle and high school about sex and how to prevent it from happening. Also, the lack amount of talks from parents that they can give to their teen. I wouldn't say there isn't any education given out to students about sex, but there isn't ENOUGH to make pre–teens and teens to fully understand and have the right mind set about sex. Many schools won't really focus on the topic about teen pregnancy because it really doesn't have much about academics and that's really understandable, but at the end of the day teens are also human and do make mistakes. I believe schools should give education about teen pregnancy as much as the other subjects. The topic of teen pregnancy shouldn't be left out because talking to your teen about sex can definitely influence their lifestyle. Many teens would learn about sex in the streets which it totally horrible because 9/10, the streets will educate them to have sex rather than not to. The solution to this problem is that parents and schools should educate their teens /students with more education about teen pregnancy, so that the number pregnant teens can decrease in near future. Another reason for teen pregnancy is social media. Social media can have a huge impact on how teens can view their lives by influencing them with a different kind of lifestyle. Not to mention, teens can easily be brainwashed by what they see on there and think what they see on social media is good, is actually wrong. Social media will have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Teen Pregnancy Although the teen pregnancy rate has declined some, it remains a major problem in the state of Arkansas. It is a social problem that is affecting all communities in some Arkansas cities. With Arkansas topping the charts with a high rate of teenage pregnancy, something needs to be done. There are not enough prevention programs in the state to help these young women. Out of all the young teens that have become pregnant, they usually had no want to become mothers. Arkansas should have more sex education programs for teenagers because it will curb teenage pregnancy by providing teenagers with the information and guidance they need to know about sex. According to the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (2016), "In Arkansas, the teen...show more content... The lack of knowledge about sex first starts with the teen's parents. Most parents are afraid or too busy to talk to their teens about sex because they feel that talking about sex will make the child want to have sex. With this mindset, it leaves teens to get the wrong information about sex from videos, movies, and friends, which could cause the teen to become pregnant. It is a known fact that besides the fear and time not allowing that some parents do not know what age they should start talking to their children about sex. According to Louanne Weston, Ph.D., parents have always are the question, "How old should a child be before we start talking about sext?" The answer to that question is "Younger than you think" stated Louanne Weston, Ph.D. (2006). There is no wrong or right age to start talking to your child about sex, children are curious by nature and parents when asked no matter the age should never avoid a "teachable moment" when asked a question by a child (Weston 2006). As the child goes older you should have an open door policy with the teenager so that they will be like they can talk to you about anything, including sex. With the high teenage pregnancy rate plaguing Arkansas, the state according to Talk Business & Politics has spent "$143 million annually" to take care of teen mothers (2017). • 10. Let's Prevent Teen Pregnancy Together I was a senior in high school. My boyfriend and I had been together for almost 2 years. We attempted to practice safe sex but that cost money and neither of us had a job since we both played sports and didn't have the time. I didn't feel comfortable talking to my mom about sex or birth control. I came from a Christian family and sex was not something we talked about out loud, it was just expected that I would wait till I was married. So instead my boyfriend and I tried other methods we thought would keep us from getting pregnant. I was 17 years old when I got pregnant. We both thought we would be able to prevent pregnancy without using any form of contraceptives. I wasn't alone in getting pregnant in high school, out of my small group of friends in high school 3 out of the 7 of us became pregnant before graduation. We all came from good family's and lived in nice homes is a nice suburb of Arizona. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Teenage Pregnancy Having children at a young age has been an epidemic throughout the world for many centuries now. Even though the severity of the issues may be slightly different depending on the region, it still affects all nationalities. Unfortunately in undeveloped countries arranged marriage for young females continues to this very day so they can start a family of their own. Luckily, The United States of America has been able to decrease adolescents conceiving at a young age which was noticed back in 2005. Since this is so, actions have been taken to potentially abolish the issue of teenage pregnancy, however there are more steps to drastically change this issue in society. This was possible due to the programs that help educate the youth of all the possibilities that could result from having intercourse. Teenage pregnancy is deeply embedded and encouraged in most nations and as such a comprehensive effort to continue changing the culture is necessary. All countries suffer from teenage pregnancy and many factors contribute to this making them extremely relatable. In developing countries, it can solely be that they do not have the proper education or equipment to substantially prepare them for certain situations. Early marriages and traditional gender roles may also be a blame to teenage pregnancy in these undeveloped countries. Whereas in developed countries, it is difficult for the government to support certain teaching methods, leaving most individuals misinformed of all consequences that may arise due to their actions. With this being said, many teenagers begin to practice sexual activities at a young age and since they think the results will be harmless. In all actuality, there are severe health risks for the mother and also the child, in some cases it may even lead to death. Teenage females throughout the world face the same complications during pregnancy and birth that can lead to traumatic results. These complications can vary, however young girls are prone to them because their bodies are not fully developed. Most females are incapable of gaining adequate weight in order to support their child's nutritional growth and development. Also, some of these teenagers lack a support system so they have no guidance Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Teenage Pregnancy Essay The constant rise of adolescent fertility across nations has proven to be a major contributing factor to a cycle of dependency which deteriorates economic growth. Evidently, the younger generation represents the larger population of Belize and as suggested by a report, commissioned by the United Nations, Belize encompasses the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the Caribbean followed by Guyana and Jamaica. Based on the media perspective, teenage pregnancy is a rising issue in Belize that should be taken more seriously. It's an epidemic ruining lives and perpetuating poverty. According to Sheila Roseau, Director of UNFPA SROC, the birth–rates in countries are normally forty–nine per thousand births. In Belize, the birth rate is...show more content... However, due to educational programs such as "YES, IT VET, CET and Social Services" opportunities for upliftment becomes possible. These programs are designed to educate and prepare young individuals for a better life. Secondly, the media highlights the contributing factors of teenage pregnancy. Based on a study done in South Africa, the inadequate knowledge of contraception is a major factor contributing to teenage pregnancy. Parents are very hesitant when it comes to educating their children about sex and the use of contraception. The majority believe that their children will eventually learn on their own as time pass by or they don't believe children should even know about adult activities since sex and contraceptive usage is considered an "adult thing." Lacking the knowledge of sex and contraceptive usage can definitely lead to teenage pregnancy because both parties are unaware of the consequence that follows their actions. Another factor is alcohol and vanity. Luxurious lifestyles cause most teenagers to sadly stumble unto the path of prostitution as well and often becoming impregnated and drop out of school. Being a mom at an early age due to fast living can also lead to contraction of life–threatening diseases such as HIV /AIDS which could also be an addition to teenage pregnancy. • 13. Persuasive Speech On Teenage Pregnancy Teenage Pregnancy has been a problem over the past decade, that is ruining teenagers lives and causing immense amounts of stress that could easily be avoided. 2/5 teen American girls will get pregnant at least once before age 20, in that only 40% of teen mothers graduate high school. We should not waste our time creating unnecessary classes students may not pay attention to, but create a solution that can get rid of teenage pregnancy and stop it in its tracks. As of March of 2016, all states are somehow involved in sex education for public schoolchildren. This education is a huge waste of time and money in classes, as 47% of high school students reported having sexual intercourse regardless (ReCapp). No teenage girl needs to deal with the unwanted stress of a child, and no parent wants to be a grandparent so young. I have a simple proposal to fix these issues and stop any teenage pregnancy from this point forward. The solution to teenage pregnancy epidemic is sterilization. I propose that when a female hits...show more content... For example in India, "nearly 3 million boys and more than 6 million girls were married before age 14, and were having many children. To break the cycle, India urged a practice no country had tried before: mass sterilization" (Washington Post). India was able to take the issue of unwanted population by completely exterminating it. Sterilizing a woman, even temporarily until adulthood, is the only sure way to prevent pregnancies. Children can not be trusted with the responsibility of safe sex, so eliminating the responsibility will be the only way to keep our kids from having kids. India was not the only country to perform sterilization. Our very own home country of America was known for use of sterilization in the early 1900's. If we have used this technique in the past to prevent unwanted pregnancies, why can't we bring it back in confidence of the success of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Finding out that I was pregnant first hand was a bittersweet but conversely a Kodak moment as well. During the first couple of days I didn't know whether to ball up and cry or to be happy and exhilarated, I was 17 so I didn't know how to be happy about me being with a fetus inside of me. "I have my whole life ahead of me, this can't be real, why me?" I constantly asked myself while looking at the positive pregnancy test. After finding out this shocking news I walked in the same room that my cousin Kiana was patiently waiting in, and quietly said it's positive. Kiana gave me the ideal expression I kind of hoped for and needed during the time–being but shortly after, I got the news that she was also pregnant. When I first noticed my first sign of pregnancy when I started spotting, and increase of hunger, I didn't think nothing of it but I slightly had a clue. A week goes by still going unnoticed until the morning sickness stage hit. Waking up with morning sickness was one of the stages I had an aversion to the most. I partially disliked this stage because not only was it morning sickness, but because it was morning and afternoon sickness. Another reason is because it made me feel nauseous. After the morning sickness stage, it encouraged me to get a pregnancy test. Telling my family about the pregnancy was going to be one of the most petrifying things I'd ever had to do. I honestly know how to know to tell them or who I was going to tell first, I was nervous about what the outcome would be. Telling my child's father was first though. Moreover, me and my family finding out the news, he had been in a juvenile detention center. When we would be on the phone I would Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 18. General goal:To persuade Specific goal: I want to convince my peers and others around me that teenage mothers need more support and less people judging them. Introduction When you hear the words "teen pregnancy" what is the first thing that pops up in your head. In the state of Ohio there is approximately 8,755 births to teens were in 2015. Most teen births in Ohio, which is 74%, are from ages 18–19. There are many people who stereotype teenage mothers because they believe most of them drop out of high school, do not receive their high school diploma, and party all night. I can personally say being the child of a woman who raised me while she was 16 years old,who had no help from no one during her pregnancy because she didn't want to have an abortion. Not only did she graduate from high school, she worked two jobs and also earned her degree at the closest community college that had a day care. Stop bashing young mothers because they got pregnant out of wedlock or because they got pregnant young. I am here not only because I am a daughter of a 36 year old woman who has been through hell and back for me but I am here to let you know that being a teenage mother isn't the easiest thing on earth when it comes to people and their negative judgement, how they are able to be there for their children and still receive their education, and lastly and how things people say affect them in the long run. Before you even think about judging a pregnant girl, know their story not how old Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay About Teenage Pregnancy Living in Flint , Michigan is exciting and honestly mind blowing. Every week or even everyday you see new trends. These trends come and go just as fast as a person can rip their jeans they can become pregnant. Webster's definition simply sums up a trend to be a general way of change that evolves and becomes more common. Many people may not see pregnancy as a trend but, if we took time to think about it, the acceptance of pregnancy is in fact a trend. We as humans have this idea that if something occurs more than normal then we must accept it because we have come to understand that we cannot change it or we are simply too lazy to change it. Before a trend can become officially one person must set it . After one person does it then the "monkey see monkey do" idea occurs. That one person doing that one original or not normally seen thing sparks a chain reaction. In the city of Flint this began maybe three years ago in the year of 2014. Even if we cross out the reasoning behind it the simple fact is we don't change it. That nonoccurrence of change is exactly the reason there are so many teenage pregnancies in Flint, Mi. If a change is what we seek then we cannot simply sit back and say that's what we want. Change is an action word or a verb because in order to receive a change you must want it bad enough to do anything necessary. These action include informing teens about sex and safe sex. Although abstinence should be taught what happens if it's too late. Safe sex is still a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
