2. Step 1: Deciding on an article to search for
and where to search.
For the purposes of this assignment we decided to
look for an article related to a significant historical
event, as this would represent a common case in
which a student is look for resources to benefit the
outcome of a project.
We choose to search for an article about the Iran-
Contra Affair.
One of the best ways to locate an article about
almost any subject is through Galileo. An
information database made available to all UWG
students.
3. Step 2: Accessing the library page on
the UWG website.
Access the UWG
homepage.
Select library under the
academics tab.
You should now be viewing
a webpage similar to the
picture below.
It is essential to start from
the UWG homepage as
Galileo is a service that is
only available to students.
The UWG homepage
provides hassle free access
to Galileo.
4. Step 3:Accessing Galileo and
narrowing your search parameters.
Select the articles tab.

article.
Enter keywords related to
your desired topic in the

It is very important that you
carefully select the keywords
to be used in your search as
they directly affect the

parameters to be to broad or
so specific that it is hard to
find quality material.
Hit enter.
6. Step 5: Finding an acceptable article.
The search should have
yielded an adequate
amount of articles to

It is important to
consider the sources
cited in these articles to
