TRAILER,FILM MAGAZINE AND
FILM POSTER
2. We looked at the example of Sherlock Holmes
To assess how effective the combination of the
Trailer ,film magazine and film poster was.
After watching the trailer we found that the film poster and the
trailer were very alike. The typography featured exactly the same.
Clear advertising of adventure .The images featured on the
background of the film poster are simply clues and are also
featured in the trailer. The colours used portray the aged
Victorian era which is shown through the film poster and the
trailer .
3. The magazine seems to be selling the stars
(Robert Downey JR)
Unlike the trailer and film poster the Empire
magazine seems modern .Although the character
is wearing clothes similar too the trailer/poster the
whole magazine portrays that of a modern era. In
this sense I think it is less effective because it is
harder to identify the theme of adventure. However
the magazine and what it represents may appeal to
a wider audience not just that of the Sherlock
Holmes fans.
