Plot overview
ThedetectiveNicholas Malgrum decides to go rogue and try to bust a
drug shipment in hopes to get revenge on Mickey Cohen, a famous
crime lord who also murdered his partner by stabbing him to death.
He knows that bringing down Mickey Cohen will see the end of his
misery. He is in his mid 30’s, a lone wolf, divorced and a heavy
drinker.
Outline of opening film sequence
Beginning/middle
Cross cut between a detective lighting a cigar and throwing it away
with a suspect frantically running down an ally way. The detective
stubs out the cigar on the cobbled street then runs after the suspect.
The suspect gets trapped in a dead end- the detective brandishes a
weapon and the scene cut to black.
End
The scene starts up again with a shot of the suspect tied to a chair.
The detective is laying out equipment on a well-lit table while talking
about how he will interrogate the suspect until he confesses the
whereabouts of Cohen. The detective then interrogates the suspect
with chilies, sand and bleach in the eyes- a silhouette implies the
interrogation and the screen goes black with the sound of screaming.

4. Synopsis
Nicholas Malgrum is a 35-year-old ex-soldier of WWII, who is now a
police detective for the LAPD. Due to his time serving in the war,
Malgrum now suffers from serious depression and is a heavy drinker.
His wife left him due to his constant mood swings, aggressive
behavior and his excessive drinking habits.
However, there is one man who has stuck by his side all of his life, his
partner and loyal friend Jack Greenoff. As if he never saw enough
blood spilt, Malgrum witnessed the gruesome murder of his partner
at the hands of Mickey Cohen, the infamous crime lord of Los
Angeles.
He creates a plan to bust Mickey Cohen’s biggest ever drug shipment
as he knows it will be a fatal blow and make Cohen vulnerable,
henceforth opening a window for Malgrum’s attack. His motive is
vengeance and he will go to extreme lengths to succeed. And he’ll do
it alone.

Costumes
Liam will wear stereotypical detective gear (i.e. the trench
coat, hat, possibly a suit) and will also carry around a prop
gun and a flashlight, whereas Jamie (the suspect) will
wear less important looking clothes (such as an un-tucked
dress shirt, a loose tie, possibly a hat).
Location
The main location of the sequence will be set inside of the
College’s TV studio; this will serve as the place of
interrogation. Whereas the alley behind Jamie’s house will
serve as the place used during the chase sequence at the beginning.
