The mediation process is a confidential technique to resolve the disputes between two parties by bringing them to a neutral agreement that both the parties are satisfied with. The third party that carries out the process and help the disputers to come to an agreement is known as a mediator.

3. How it Works
Roger goes to work for both sides as an independent facilitator.
Preparation of the Mediation Process
Roger takes time to prepare for the mediation process and engage the participants
as far as possible before the first mediation meeting.
Neutral Ground
Mediation is an informal process that takes place at a neutral site, often the
mediator’s office suite.
Negotiation
Participants then usually move to separate rooms, and Roger will begin the
negotiation stage by talking to one participant or the other.
Successful Mediation Process
In a successful mediation process, it is important for participants and their solicitors
to come prepared – they must fully take into account the needs of both sides of the
dispute, not just their own.
4. Mediation services either for business or partners or families are very
important.
If you are a lawyer you may have a “favorite” mediator because you like
their style and approach.
Why do you like them? What qualities are important to you?
My Mediation Services have developed because of a clear understanding
of what skills I, myself, would expect from a mediator.
The worse the behavior or participants, the more I’ve learnt.
5. Trustworthy
Ruthlessly independent
Honest and honorable
Reliable
Open and transparent
Intelligent
Adaptable
Intuitively understand the dynamics of a negotiating process
Be able to read people well
Know when to speak and when not to
To understand what makes people tick (an not!)
6. I believe the personal qualities of a mediator are more
important than particular areas of specialism.
By the time the participants reach mediation the issues have
generally crystallized so any experienced.
The sooner the participants stop talking about the issues.
I don’t like mediations which don’t settle; they spoil my day,
even my week.
I try my best to secure settlement on the day as that’s why I’m
there.
