Our studio-based laboratory is situated in Adelaide, South Australia and led
by PhD researcher, director, actor and trainer Corinna Di Niro. Commedia con
Corinna runs workshops for students, teachers and actors Australia wide. Corinna’s
Commedia dell’Arte troupe, The Commedia Moguls, is also available for
performance bookings nation wide, currently about to deliver a series of 8
performances of the critically acclaimed ‘The Marriage of Flavio and Isabella‘.

Workshop 1:
Learn the five principles required to stage your
own Commedia dell’Arte play. Scripted vs. NonScripted; what really is Commedia dell’Arte and
why are there so many different opinions?
Personal Development for Teachers
Workshop 2:
Learn how to teach stage fighting and slapstick in
a safe and engaging way. Learn the do’s and
don’ts of Commedia. Develop skills in devising,
ensemble work, improvisation, mask technique,
Laban, Lecoq, viewpoints and voice.
5. Commedia Dell’Arte Known to enhance
character development, movement technique,
voice, stage presence, and the artist’s role on the
stage, learning Commedia dell’Arte and physical
theatre will leave you with an understating of a
range of theatre methods and give you a more indepth understanding of yourself, your body in the
space, your body in relation to an ensemble and
the physical and character possibilities essential
for artists’ today.
Actors’ workshops run as either a 2-day intensive
of over five evenings (3hr each night).
Participants receive a certificate of participation,

8. Corinna Di Niro first studied Commedia dell’Arte with maestro Antonio Fava
in Italy in 2004. She then went on to further develop her theatre skills by
performing for a number of international companies and developed her own
shows and training method in Commedia dell’Arte.
She has to date completed a Bachelor of Media Arts / Drama (2009), a first
class Honors Degree focusing on Commedia dell’Arte (2010) and will soon
have a PhD in Commedia dell’Arte (2014), which she received a scholarship to
do so. Her combination of training, performance, research and education
makes her the most qualified Commedia dell’Arte practitioner, director and
teacher in Australia.
With a number of international and national conferences, papers, TV
segments, workshops and performances under her belt, Corinna Di Niro is
highly sought after when it comes to this exceptional genre we call Commedia
dell’Arte!
