18. Virtual Babies Students have the experience of taking home a virtual baby for three days and three nights. This baby is computerised and is programmed to simulate a real baby. It cries, gurgles and even has to be burped. Students go through a problem solving routine to see why the baby is crying. Does the baby need to be picked up and rocked, fed or have its nappy changed? All students keep a diary of their experience and the computer read out at the end of the three days rates the care given to the baby.
