Primary Industries is a practical, competency-based HSC course focusing on safety, sustainability, and working in agriculture and horticulture industries. Students complete mandatory units on livestock, plants, chemicals, and weather, plus elective units like operating tractors and machinery, pest control, and plant propagation. The course involves 70% hands-on work and 2 weeks of work placement. Graduates have been successful finding jobs in areas like nurseries, farms, vineyards, parks and gardens, forestry, and agricultural supply stores.
