Contraindications
Ziram tablets are contraindicated in patients with a hypersensitivity to
Ramipril , any other ACE inhibitor (e.g., a patient who has experienced
angioedema during therapy with any other ACE inhibitor), or any other
component of this medication.
Angioedema related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor, or a
history of hereditary or idiopathic angioedema.
Ziram is contraindicated in combination with a neprilysin inhibitor (e.g.,
sacubitril). Do not administer Ziram within 36 hours of switching to or
from Sacubitril/Valsartan, a neprilysin inhibitor.
Do not co-administer aliskiren with Ziram in patients with diabetes

Warnings
Angioedema, increased risk in patients with a prior history. Patients with a
history of angioedema unrelated to ACE inhibitor therapy may be at
increased risk of angioedema while receiving an ACE inhibitor.
Hypotension and hyperkalemia. Ramipril can cause symptomatic
hypotension, after either the initial dose or a later dose when the dosage
has been increased.
Renal impairment: Monitor renal function during therapy. As a
consequence of inhibiting the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system,
changes in renal function may be anticipated in susceptible individuals.
Avoid concomitant use of an ACE inhibitor and angiotensin blocker.
Rare cholestatic jaundice and hepatic failure.
Rare neutropenia and agranulocytosis.

Ziram Tablets During Pregnancy
Ramipril (Ziram Tablets) has been classified by the US FDA as
Pregnancy Category Category D.
You must tell your doctor if you think that you are or may become pregnant.
You should not take Ramipril tablets in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, and you
must not take them at all after the 13th week as their use during pregnancy can
possibly be harmful to the baby.
Use of medicines like Ramipril that act on the renin-angiotensin system during
the second and third trimesters of pregnancy reduces fetal renal function and
increases fetal and neonatal morbidity and death. Resulting oligohydramnios
can be associated with fetal lung hypoplasia and skeletal deformations. Potential
neonatal adverse effects include skull hypoplasia, anuria, hypotension, renal
failure, and death. When pregnancy is detected, discontinue Ziram (Generic
