Isabel Guerra was born in Madrid in 1947 and showed an early interest in art, often visiting the Prado Museum as a child. She had her first art exhibition at age 15 and won numerous prizes as a painter. At age 23, she became a nun in a convent in Zaragoza where she continued her painting career, creating hyperrealistic portraits, still lifes, religious works, and landscapes that featured dramatic use of light. She has had many successful exhibitions over her career as an artist nun.
