1. An Ant’s Voice

2. Once upon a time an ant went to find a new home. He crawled into a lizard’s home when the lizard was away. He made himself at home.

3. The lizard came back , It saw new tracks going into the cave. The lizard called, “Who’s in my house?” The ant yelled out in a loud voice. “It is I. I am so strong I trample elephants as I pass. Who dares to ask?” The tiny ant’s voice boomed through the cave.

4. The lizard ran away from the home. “What can I do?” “ I cannot fight a creature who tramples elephants!” “ How will I get my house back?” Soon the lizard met a warthog who volunteered to help. They went to the lizard’s house to get the intruder out.

5. The two went to the lizard’s home and the warthog yelled loudly, “ Who is in the house of my friend the lizard?” The ant answered in a loud voice, “It is I. I am so strong I trample elephants as I pass. Who dares to ask?” The warthog backed away and ran from the cave.

6. The lizard stopped a tiger. The tiger told the lizard not to worry. The tiger moved to the mouth of the cave. The tiger showed it’s claws and growled, “ Who is in the house of my friend the lizard?” The ant answered in a loud voice, “It is I. I am so strong I trample elephants as I pass. Who dares to ask?” The tiger jumped back and ran away.

7. The lizard was so sad and thought he would never get his home back. Along came a frog. The frog went to the cave and hopped inside. The frog yelled into the cave, “I am the one who tramples those who tramples elephants.”

8. The ant was so afraid and said, “Look at the awful thing that has come to get me. I have had my fun. I have stayed in the cave long enough.” The ant crept out of the cave.

9. The animals said “You are only an ant. The cave’s echo made your voice so big and loud. We thought you were big and mean. The ant looked at the frog and said, “I though you were so big.” The animals laughed at themselves and the ant scurried away.
