3. Design Brief
• Explore the best methods of visual communication by using the
following:
- user product interaction (usability)
- product aesthetic
- product function
• Communicate at least 5 elements of interest. Experiment with
orthographic and perspective line-work and renderings.
• Create your final illustrations using illustrator line-work and basic
rendering learned during the first 6 weeks of the module. Compose a
process book displaying all your work to date o this project including
text, arrows, human outlines etc., to aid communication.

5. Stage 1 - Research
• Choosing a product for this project was a challenge. I decided to take
the project from a product functionality and usability perspective. In
turn this became my main concept and inspiration for the project.
• I chose a 13” hp laptop. The laptop is small and light making it
extremely portable, touchscreen and can also flip in a 360° angle
neatly transforming into a tablet.
• In my opinion the functions of the laptop adapt sufficiently to meet
the users needs.
• I explored this product by sketching and taking photographs.

10. Feedback
I received a variety of constructive criticism throughout the observation
process;
• To show something on the laptop screen so that the
hand isn’t just interacting with a blank screen.
• Clearer layout. Display the tablet form and flipping
action better. Clearer use of arrows.
• No need to show every angle of the 360° flip.
