I Believe In Looking To The Future
I believe in looking to the future when you need help. Over the past couple years a lot has changed
in my life. At first the changes were very difficult, but by believing it would get better it was easier
to push through. My first difficulty was in fifth grade when one of my close friends moved away. I
was disappointed but I knew it'd be okay because I still had my best friend as we went into middle
school. We made it through the year successfully, but then I heard some bad news. My best friend
was moving too. She was my first friend since I'd moved here in second grade and I didn't know
what I was going to do. I ended up making some new friends and getting closer with old friends. It
was very challenging but now I am happy with a new group

Quotes In The Bridge To Terabithia
A vast majority of people have had a friend or two– a good one, at that. Someone they could trust
and talk to. Someone who granted them that spark of childhood and happiness that fueled their
games, their talks, their smiles, their personalities. Some friendships grow strong, to the point where
they are unbreakable, even after devastating events that seem to tear them apart and hold them
down. That's exactly what happens in this story– "The Bridge to Terabithia". An emotional yet
realistic and compelling story by Katherine Paterson. It is banned in many places due to swearing
and the utterly tragic storyline.
The story is about a boy named Jesse, who befriends a girl named Leslie. They make their own little
word in the forest– A kingdom dubbed "Terabithia" where they escape the harsh realities of the
world and their worries. It is their own world– No one to command them or shut them down.
They're finally free to be children; To play and laugh, and simply enjoy each other's company. They
are different from everyone else, in their own special ways, and they bring out the best in eachother.
For one, Leslie gave him things he may not have ever received on his own, including feelings. She
changed him for the better. She helped him to see that there was so much more to be gained and
given after a loss. For example, this quote from Chapter thirteen. "It was up to him to pay back to
the world in beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him in vision and strength." (Paterson 126)
She showed him what happiness and youth can be.
Additionally, Leslie helped Jess to push past stereotypes , allowing him to become a better friend
and open minded person. She challenged the usual traits that were stitched into girls like they were
an article of clothing – simply attaching a tag to them to tell them what they were and what they
were not. Yet she seemed to rip her own tag from her body and shout out who she was with such an
ecstatic and brave stance. She took Jess by the hand and showed him how much more there was to
life then what people are taught. She was different from anyone Jess had ever met. "I hope they have
a girl, six or seven," said May Belle. "I need somebody to play with." "You got Joyce Ann." "I hate

Popular Kids vs Unpopular Kids
Popular Kids vs. Unpopular Kids Everyone wants to be the popular kid in high school right? Not
always true because popularity isn't always as great as it looks. Belonging in the popular social
group in high school can be a rough place for some individuals. In other words, the grass isn't
always greener on the other side. While unpopular teens wish to join the other side, they should
consider a few things before making a rash decision. While pondering through the negative effects
of being popular, one that stands out is the type of people one would become involved with. We all
desire to have truthful and caring friends. However, not every person in the popular click is truthful
and caring. Before choosing a click, one should think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just imagine the sound of a thousand flies buzzing down the hallway with the latest gossip. In a
matter of one day, one comment could be transformed into a rumor and spread through the whole
school like wild fire. Drama inevitably corrupts most teens but popular teens thrive on it like an
addiction, and sometimes create lies just to ruin one's reputation. True friends, who might not be the
most popular kids in school, but they would also never talk about a friend behind his or her back just
to gain a higher reputation with the popular click (Article one). Staying out of drama can help one
feel less stressed. Avoiding it can also stop individuals from getting involved in something they
might regret. Gossip is difficult to find roaming among the unpopular group because they rarely feel
the need to seek attention or hurt someone's feelings by spreading rumors. They are already content
and aware of how to treat individuals as they would like to be treated. When the weekend hits it is
common for the popular click to go out and party. Everyone hears the stories of how drunk someone
got or how the cops busted a few unfortunate teenagers. Even the best of teens get peer pressured
into going to the weekend party and drinking. All of this obnoxious partying is not appropriate for a
15 to 18 year old teenager. Those "cool parties" consist of high school kids that don't know other
ways to have fun or just get drunk to escape their problems. Teens have to step up and

We Beat The Street Analysis
We Beat The Street, By The Three Doctors the themes and messages from the Three Doctors can
apply to my life in many ways. First, The Three Doctors message to keep trying and never give up
helped out my life a lot because when I keep trying I will be a better person by doing better in
school and at home. For example, the Three Doctors had overcome obstacles when they got into
trouble so they never went to jail for it. Next, another one of The Three Doctors message is to help
your friends out if they have trouble doing something. For example, if your friend has a problem and
he can't do it his friends should be helping him out with his problem. The Three Doctors helped
eachother out by telling them not to make bad decisions and it made each

Are Friends Better Than Seinfeld
Why Friends is a Better Sitcom Than Seinfeld
While the 90s notoriously brought us a myriad of classic sitcoms, there are none as infamous as
Friends and Seinfeld. The two are often compared due to their simultaneous airings and similar
audiences, but there is no doubt that Friends is the better sitcom.
In the world of television, there exists an elusive and uncommonly used tactic that draws viewers in
and makes a show golden. This tactic is rare, so rare that Seinfeld obviously has not heard of it. This
tactic? A plotline. Seinfeld is dubbed "the show about nothing" because this is exactly what viewers
get out of watching it: nothing. No moral lesson, no ethical value, no storyline. Just four characters
acting in completely asinine ways for 30 minutes without a purpose. Friends, on the other hand,
always teaches us something by the end of the episode. Whether it be the fact that family comes
first, or the fact that your friends are your family, Friends has tangible value in it that is ... Show

In the Seinfeld universe, a hospital is a place where a Junior Mint is ejected into the abdominal
cavity of an unsuspecting patient. While Friends uses a devastating fire to show Rachel and Phoebe
becoming closer as roommates, Seinfeld uses a fire to show George actively pushing children out of
the way to save himself. Wedding envelopes characterize a new beginning for Monica and Chandler
in Friends, while they quite literally cause the death of George's fiancée in Seinfeld. Last but
certainly not least, the overall satisfaction of the finales of both shows is incomparable. The Seinfeld
finale is the sloppy, unnecessarily collective, last–minute project of a procrastinating student; the
Friends finale is the thoughtful, well–put–together dissertation of a successful graduate

High Self Monitoring Research Paper
High self monitoring people is also better in performance rather than low self monitoring people.
Supposedly, their performance in everything they do such as their performance in doing their jobs.
Since the high self monitoring people is highly flexible in changing their characteristics from time to
time according to the social situation, in order to meet the people's demands they are to be regard as
positive. Means that they are being like by others because of their good self presentation. Due to
that, they will be easily given an access to any resources they needeed for enhancing their
performance, instrumental or expressive. Such example would be a lawyer being given a crime case
which needs a lot of resources and information. The lawyer is a high ... Show more content on

Being labelled as a positive individual, other people are more likely to bond with the high self
monitoring person an became friends. A statement by Jehn & shah (1997) also stated that in decision
making and motor task, a group which are comprised of friends performed significantly better than a
group of acquintance. The access to resources in social networks of organization are not equally
distributed to every individuals, which is why being a high self monitor are usually better positioned
in gaining information and social support by their many friends in times of need which is needed to
improve their performance. While the low self monitoring person are not a centrally located
individuals which means that there will be no incoming friendship ties because this types of
indiviual only be friends with people whom they like generally ,in which could possibly be less than
three other individual and will only stick to them evendoe in doing different activities. This shows
that high self monitoring people will have a lot of friends and them being labelled positively which
proves them being a better person rather than the low self monitoring

Mutual Relationships With Mutual Relationship
There is a lot of different opinions when it comes to having a mutual relationship with a male and
female without it being anything more. Many believe that this is not right because they feel as
though that no man and woman could possibly be friends without any feelings involved in the
relationship. This view is often associated with the person who has a significant other that has a
close friend that is of the opposite sex. Others who have friends that are of the opposite sex feel as
though nothing is wrong with it because they are used to it. I feel as though this topic is rooted to the
fact that it is only for the people that are mature, it is important for people on both sides to be mature
and have clear intentions with both the friend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, people argue that a heterosexual male and female couldn't be friends because it often ends
with them starting a relationship even if they were friends with the person while they had a
significant other. I have also seen this happen where a friend of mines was friends with a girl that
had a boyfriend and he also had a girlfriend but now they were so close that their friendship has
turned into a relationship. I feel as though if everyone knows the other persons intention it will be
less difficult, even though sometimes their intentions often change.
Communicating with a person of the opposite sex about how you feel emotionally often helps
because something you would not feel comfortable with just venting to the same sex. Although men
seem strong and nothing ever phases them it is important to have a friend for emotional support.
Often men go through things that hit them emotionally and it is better to have a female to vent to
rather than another male. This is shown when someone loses a family or a tragic situation of that
sort, sure your buddies can give you a word of encouragement but to tell someone how you feel
deep down inside it is helpful to have a female to talk to. Often women are more comfortable to talk
to than a guy about something a male is going through on an emotional level. Emotionally, females
feel as though men create a safer environment because often times it is hard for them to trust their

Better to Betray My Country and Not My Friend
We as human beings all have choices. Many of the choices we make can affect us for the rest of our
lives. Among the more important decisions a person will ever have to face is that of betrayal. Often
times we are in a situation in which we must chose sides: "Whom to betray?", and in this case, the
options are friend or country. I agree with E. M. Forster's view on personal relations and patriotism,
believing that "I hope I should have the guts to betray my country" (Forster) over my friend. A
person should always – and one might even say has a duty to – place his conscience or the moral
laws he has set for himself over any conflicting manmade law. Many examples throughout history
have set precedents for this sort of behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her intent was not to cause chaos. Her intent was not to disrespect Creon. She knew the only way
her brother could receive respectful passage to an afterlife was if he received proper burial. Her
religious beliefs and strong love did not allow her to remain passive and not act to help her brother.
Antigone's moral standards obligated her to betray her country in order to help her brother. For these
reasons, Antigone was justified in breaking the law and betraying her country. There are, however,
situations in which betraying one's country is unjustified. When a person or group violently and
disrespectfully breaks a law, such as the Weather Underground did in their protest of the lack of
attention being given to the Vietnam War, their actions are unjustified. Now let us distinguish
between an unjust action and an unjust cause. The Weathermen were in my opinion morally justified
to go against the government and protest the war in Vietnam (obviously protest is very different than
betrayal, but for the sake of an example ...). This was their morally justified cause. By bombing
buildings and bashing glass, they proceeded to act unjustly and were at fault. Nevertheless, the
Weather Underground was right in placing their personal beliefs over their country. The opposition
might say that one's duty us to his country and not his own selfish desires, and they may be partially
right. If it was just a selfish desire such as wealth or fame,

Celestia's Masks: A Narrative Fiction
Celestia awoke.
She blinked as she adapted to the dim light, the last traces of some dream or nightmare lingering
only for a minute on her confused mind, as the rest of her terrible reality came into focus like a
distorted sunset dancing off rippling ocean waves.
She hated this time of day, this period of momentary confusion, because after the confusion always
came the same thing. Realization. Realization that the only thing her eyes were awaking to was
sharp electric light and four plain brick walls.
The confusion passed. The realization set in. Quick on its tails were dread, and fear and...

could have been a better friend, and a better aunt. And... a better teacher.
Now, she was left alone, and with nopony else to blame but herself, no matter how many names she
cursed upon waking.
In exactly one hour and twenty two minutes, the alarm did sound, but she was already awake. Surely

Friendship Is The True Meaning Of It
Friendship, something that we all have but something that we may not really understand the true
meaning of it. During the reading Thoreau goes into detail of how friends are really not what we
think them to be. We often don't actually have friends but rather just acquaintances or companions.
He goes on to explain who are real friends are and why they are our friends and that no one else
really is.
Thoreau states, "What is commonly called friendship even is only a little more honor among rogues"
(p. 144). This brings attention to that a friendship is slightly more than someone who is dishonest to
you. Your friend will only tell the truth once in a while. They do what they believe to be best for
you. When we have friends we are only saying "they are not our enemy" (p. 143). Our friend may
not always be someone we get along with greatly but someone whom we do not dishonor. We are
not at war with them or out to make their lives inferior. We respect who they are and what they do
but only because we are friends with them and not enemies.
A friend should be treated "no better than I (they) should be"(p. 143) says Thoreau. If a man
deserves to be treated as one who is disrespectful or dishonest then that is how they shall be treated.
Can we consider our neighbors friends? We treat them the way the deserve to be treated because
they living next to us. Some neighbors get along and are friends only because they are next to each
other. Other will not get along so well

When the narrator saw that Max and Horse didn't want to go onto the bridge, but the narrator wanted
to be better so he went on the bridge himself. but he didn't last long. The narrator said in paragraph

Max and horse didn't follow he wouldn't have to keep going on the bridge but Max and Horse were
following him. This is important because it really brings out my topic sentence and shows that the
narrator wants to be better than his friends. Another reason friendships can mean rivalries is if you
are in a friendship you never want to be less tough than your friends you always want to stand out.
Max chips at that he has his compass, so if they don't want to go he will go on without them because

Stay Garage Case Study
Stay Garage or Go All City Garage bands are fun and a great way to spend time with friends. Some
may play better than others, but it's better to just stick together and help each other develop. In a
situation where someone in the band decides they can play better than the rest he or she should help
his or her friends develop and practice until they're on the same level. Also he or she should show
they're friends where their loyalty lies instead of running at the first sign of struggle. In the case of
someone realizing they can play better than their friends he or she should not immediately decide to
join the all city band, but should discuss the issue with his or her friends. Once the problem has been
talked over they should make a plan on how to better the other musicians. The plan should include
that the band will practice more and develop more or better technique. After the plan has been

focus on all city band. In conclusion, in the scenario that someone is in a garage band and plays
better than the others and has thoughts about leaving it to join the city band they should not. They
should help better their friends and get them on the same level. Also they should not just abandon

Friendship : The Most Important People In My Life

The Short Story 'The Interlopers'
Many people desire to get something, and they fight each other to win their desire. They consider
each other their enemies and do whatever it takes to be better than one another. When the enemies
need help for same problem, they unite themselves to solve the problem. The short story "The
Interlopers" by Saki is about unification and reveals how enemies become allies in harsh situations.
Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym were enemies because Ulrich was the owner of the forest
land, and Georg was trying to steal Ulrich's forest land. They met in the middle of the forest and
tried to kill each other. However, they were trapped by the huge tree that fell from a fiery storm.
Waiting for their men to rescue them, Ulrich offered Georg a wine. Ulrich von Gradwitz told Georg
Znaeym that if Ulrich's men come faster than Georg's men then Ulrich will tell the men to rescue
George first, and that they have better things to do than "getting the better of a boundary dispute"
(Saki 86). The quote shows that Ulrich wanted to be friends with Georg rather than fighting over
who gets the forest land. Ulrich asked George to be his friend, and George accepted his request.
Waiting for their men to come and help them, both wished that their private men would come first so
they can be the "first to show honorable attention" to the other (Saki 87). The quote shows that both
Ulrich and Georg wanted to prove that they are friends. Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym

Better Off Friends Character Analysis
Imagine moving from Los Angeles, California to a small town in Wisconsin and not knowing
anyone at the new school. Anyone in this situation would want to make friends that would accept
them in the new town. This is the position Levi, one of the main characters in Elizabeth Eulberg's
Better off Friends, is in when he starts middle school. Macallan, the other main character, is the
person that befriends Levi, and they become very close very fast. Being a new kid from down south,
many people stereotype Levi because of how he looks and the way he acts, which was normal in
Los Angeles where he used to live, but odd to the people in Wisconsin. For this reason the boys at
school did not really want to hang out with Levi, and that is why he and Macallan become such
good friends in a short amount of time. The two of them could find a lot that they had in common,
even though they were from completely different places. Macallan and Levi were together a lot, so
when they hung out just the two of them, people would think they were dating when they were not.
This is the second stereotype addressed in the book; a boy and a girl that spend lots of time together
do not have to be a boyfriend and a girlfriend. Throughout middle school and high school, they were
constantly asked if they were dating, when they were not. Therefore, in Better off Friends by
Elizabeth Eulberg, Eulberg addresses stereotypes about where people come from and people of the
opposite gender being just friends. First

During the summer after second grade, my mother called me over to the kitchen and explained to

reminder of how much everybody else enjoyed this. Everybody except for me.
"Hey," A voice knocked me out of my thoughts. A kid faced me. He seemed confident, and
comfortable with himself, compared to my insecure smirk and terrible posture. It seemed
impossible, but part of me hoped. Maybe I won't be alone. "Can I have the ball back?" He asked. I
just stared, trying not to let the disappointment show on my face. He gave me a funny look. "Dude,
can I have my ball?" I shook myself out of my thoughts and nudged the ball back. He gave me a
face that just screamed "What a weirdo. Nobody will ever want to play with him" I just stared back,

Seinfeld Vs Friends Research Paper
¬Why Seinfeld is a Better Sitcom Than Friends
Seinfeld vs. Friends: the ultimate battle of the sitcoms. Both of these shows dominated 90s
television, but it is clear that one reigns supreme. While Friends complicates things by having
lovable characters, sequential plotlines, and ethical value, Seinfeld does none of those things. And
this is why it wins.
When watching television, I can assure you that my end–goal is certainly not to learn some kind of
morally uplifting lesson that makes me want to be a better person. In fact, my end–goal is
nonexistent, because that is the point of a sitcom. This is exactly what Seinfeld does perfectly. It
allows its characters to perform in completely asinine and comical ways for 30 minutes, without the
unnecessary addition of a lesson, or even a plotline. I want nothing out of a sitcom. And Seinfeld,
the show about nothing, gives me just that.
Another nuance that Seinfeld executes perfectly is its characters. They are real. They are relatable.
Every event that a character goes through in the show can somehow be applied to our own lives,
because nothing is romanticized in Seinfeld. While Friends portrays Monica, a previously
overweight child and current Chef, as an attractive woman with a ... Show more content on

It is arguably more comical to laugh at the misfortune of a character due to our inherent, biological
sense of sadism. Seinfeld puts its characters through so much misfortune and hilarity that it is
simply impossible for us to not laugh at them. Seinfeld always goes too far and is never afraid to
push its boundaries. Friends simply put us through ten seasons of kissing, babies, weddings, more
kissing, and more babies. And to top it all off, Friends provides an overly–romanticized, idealistic
finale that made sure to hit us in right in our sweet spot.

Character Analysis Of Lennie In John Steinbeck's Of Mice...
Throughout life you have all sorts of friends, you may think they are good friends, but they turn out
to be different than you would expect them to be. Friends are always by your side no matter what,
they will support you and care for you no matter what you decide to do and friends always have
your back. In the novella, "Of Mice and Men," by John Steinbeck, there are two men whose names
are George and Lennie. George is a small, but strong headed man, while Lennie has a mental
disability that makes him act like a child and has the brain of a child. George always tries to help
Lennie and treats him like a brother. In this novella I believe that George was overall a very good
friend to Lennie. Lennie causes a lot of trouble and doesn't know what he's ... Show more content on

In the beginning of the novella George says to Lennie, "Lennie for God's sakes don't drink so
much... You gonna be sick" (Steinbeck 3). This shows that Lennie doesn't want Lennie to be sick
and ill. George says, " I want you to stay with me Lennie. Jesus Christ, somebody'd shoot you for a
coyote if you was by yourself" (Steinbeck 13). This shows that George knows Lennie would last
long by himself, so he would rather watch over Lennie and let Lennie be with him. George says to
Lennie, "Good boy! That's fine, Lennie! Maybe you're getting better" (Steinbeck 15). This shows
that he's been with Lennie for so long that George has now seen improvement and cares that he is
getting better and he is very proud of Lennie. George also cares for Lennie because he always
defends Lennie when he makes a mistake. George says, " All the time he does bad things, but he has
never done one of 'em mean" (Steinbeck 95). This shows that he always defends Lennie because
half of the time Lennie doesn't know what he's doing. George will always want Lennie to be with
him because he loves him like a brother and treats him with

Persuasive Essay About Sports In High School
American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not pick a
sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a vital
part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and get
higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school more.
Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only have
to pay little to no money. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better
education, make more friends, and have a better chance at getting into a good college. High school
sports are good for students because they can get a better education. Playing sports helps students
get a better education because when they are focused on sports, they also become focused on their
school work. According to the video Sports How Much is Too Much, "playing multiple sports seem
to have a positive effect on their grades." This shows that high school sports are not a distraction,
but a way to get better grades in school. While students are playing high school sports, they'll want
to study more in school. In this quote, S:HMITM talks about how coaches want students to be able

also help teach children about teamwork and sportsmanship and how it will help them in the future.
Although some people might argue that sports are making children stressed out and distracting them
from learning, it actually helps raise their grades and help them become more focused. Paying high
school sports not only allows students to handle pressure, but to also gain leadership

A Separate Peace Character Analysis
The book A Separate Peace is written in the main character's perspective. His name is Gene and he
isn't very good at sports. Meanwhile his best friend Phineas excels at sports. The book begins with
Gene as an adult at his old school Devon. He then begins to talk about about how much he has
grown since those day by stating, " I had more money and success and "security" than in the days
when specters seemed to go up and down them with me." At first I was confused why the author put
quotation marks around security but it soon made sense. The author used the literary element Foil to
highlight Phineas. The character he used to do this was Gene. This helped the reader establish a
sense of feeling and connection with Gene. This is an efficient way to hook the reader in and wanna
keep reading. So I will be discussing how exactly the author did this. There are always gonna be
people who have different strengths than us and sometimes we wish we had that strength. Gene is a
perfect example except he wishes he was exactly like Phineas. So Gene creates his own rivalry with
him because of how much he admires him and wants to strive to be better than him. This is shown
when he states, "I found a single sustaining thought. The thought was, You and Phineas are even
already. You are even in enmity. You are both coldly driving ahead for yourselves alone....I felt
better. We were even after all, even in enmity. The deadly rivalry was on both sides after all." This
quote shows that he

Good Choices In After Tupac And D Foster
How do the influences from friends affect the choices we make in life? Both good and bad, these
influences are the main reasons we make every choice we do in life. Our friends can cause us to
make some excruciatingly good choices. On the downside unfortunately, our friends can cause us to
make some tremendously bad choices. In the end though, these choices tend to add together and
make us the people we are today. As said before, our friends can cause us to make some
excruciatingly good choices. From emotional support to pure appreciation and love, friends are
often there when we need them most. If something bad is happening at home, you can count on one
of your friends to support you and calm you down, this type of things gives you the chance to be

Many examples come from the book titled "After Tupac and D Foster" written by Jacqueline
Woodson. This story is about the narrator and her friend Neeka, who meet a girl named D, and
befriend her. All three of the girls love the rapper Tupac, and are heavily influenced by his music. D,
unfortunately is an orphan, and can relate to Tupac's music in ways that the other girls can merely
understand. The song "Brenda's got a baby" Helped the girls realise, not every child has it as good as
they do, but D had already understood this from the beginning, which is why she could relate so
well to Tupac's music. This shows that the music of famous artists like Tupac can have a major
impact on children like D. Tupac's music helped them realise so many life lessons that may have
been abundantly hard to learn otherwise. Even though Tupac made some bad choices with being put
in jail, and getting involved with gang violence, and so on, his music had influenced people, and
gave them valuable life lessons they may have never learned, making them better people in the

My Experience In My Life
In 2014 my life changed drastically, and I have not been the same person that I was that short time
ago. It all began with my big secret coming out and continued to roll into a giant snowball, up until I
finally found the sun to melt it away. I went through a long depressive phase and then along my
journey I found peace again. In 2014 my family had found out about the sexual predator we had in
the family. I thought it was only my secret about my Uncle but, turns out it was my sisters too. We
went through alot together as a family while we tried to seek justice, and then ended up having to go
to our offender's funeral. It was a long turn of events that changed me. I learned how not to be afraid
anymore and how I did not have to stay silent about my story. I learned to become braver and
become more of an activist to help prevent others from going through the turmoil the my family and
I were put through. I now talk to many people who share my story and if anyone has questions about
anything entailing my experience I will never hesitate to answer and potentially help another person
who may be carrying a secret like mine. As I continue to grow my beliefs grow with me, as I seek
new information and join new groups it's comforting to know that I am not alone and that it is
possible to be comfortable with myself again. Though I have grown and learned more and have
passed on being called a victim, to becoming a survivor, I still carry my burden. Muscle memory is a

My First Friend With My Best Friend
Personal Narrative
Here is a not so very brief timeline of how I became friends with my best friend, Madilynn Carbajal.
Madilynn, she also goes by madi, more commonly is my best friend, without a doubt. At first I'm
like, woah, she's a basic white girl with a mexican last name. She is a white mexican, her mom is
white, and her dad is mexican. Ben, her dad is a really cool dude, Rochelle is too (but in lady form,
not dude form) Madi has a twin brother Mayson, and he's a bit of an idiot. Madi dances at Dr.
Slaughters. Madi is a very emotional person, and she cries a lot. And being friends with her I've
learned how to be a better friend, how to comfort someone, and that's one thing I can never ever
thank her enough for.
We met last year on the 2nd or 3rd day of school, and I thought she was a stuck up brat, and that is
actually somewhat true, she's just not stuck up, if you get what I'm saying. I sat by her in history,
and I didn't have a pencil... On the 2nd day of school, I didn't have a pencil. So I asked her if I could
borrow a pencil. "Hey Madi can I borrow a pencil"
"sure"
That's actually horrible, but it's okay. She gave me a red pencil. I still have it. I forgot to give it back,
so I thought she hated me. She did. But not because of the pencil, it's because I'm freakin loud, but
somehow we get along. Then we got seating arrangements, that we could sit wherever we wanted,
so I sat by her friend, our mutual friend, Lily. Lily and I would always yell at eachother

Personal Narrative: A Life Changing Experience
How do your Author's experiences shape the person they became? How does she change?
The everyday struggle of having no sight or hearing in it of itself is a challenging experience. To
gain success in anything she had to work 100 times harder than any other pupil, to create stories she
had to endure the tedious process of rewriting thoughts countless times prior to putting a single word
on paper due to the fear of plagiarism. Everything that was thrown at Helen she learned how to fight
through it; in my opinion, I believe that all these experiences conditioned her into stronger and an
undoubtably driven woman. Nevertheless her strength and phenomenal work ethic did not come
easy to Helen, it took years upon years to bypass her anger. Personally I don't think Helen ever
stopped evolving into a better friend and person. If I had to define her most apparent change in her
life, I would choose her transition from being uneducated to having the ability to communicate her
thoughts and feelings. When Helen was a child communication did not come easy to her. To get ...

From the start it wasn't necessarily her tone, but the lack of emotion in her writing. I found myself
not engaged and losing interest as a began reading the book. I persisted and as the story progressed
more emotion began to become apparent, but the emotion was anger and sadness. I was empathetic
because anyone who endures that amount of pain and frustration early on in life would not have the
most pleasant of memories. However I was pleasantly surprised at the times where she had added
humor, it did make me more engaged to what she had to say next. Also when she talked about the
pleasant memories and times she had a more light and gracious tone with her words. It is very
understandable that her words would be more cold at rough and difficult times, whereas the nice and
beautiful memories were written quite the

Can You Be Honest with Your Friend
Can You Be Honest With Your Friends
My sister is a person whom one might define as socially awkward. While neither of us possess the
gift of tact, I have become slightly more adept a maneuvering unfamiliar social situations, whereas
she avoids them wherever and whenever possible. We both have the same handicap: that being that
we don't possess a filter. Whereas most people know that it constitutes poor manners to point out a
hanger from a perfect stranger's nose, we feel it is our civic duty to not only bring attention to the
offensive item, but to introduce it to any other would–be spectator and random passersby.

The Effects Of Peer Pressure In High School
Peer pressure is defined as "influence from members of one's peer group" according to
dictionary.com. To this day being popular or well liked is one of the biggest problems on high
schoolers minds. Humans are creatures of habit. We seek to be well liked and to have lots of friends.
When we are not invested in what someone we are interested in is, we often pretend to like it. Even
going so far as to participate in certain things we would normally not. High school is often difficult
for many young adults. We are trying to find where we fit in and who we really are. When one
graduates high school, they often do not have the same friends that they started high school with.
When I started high school I was struggling a lot with who I was. My mom had just moved to
another state, I had just moved into a new house with my dad whom I had not lived with for years
and I was about to start a new school with almost no friends. The first people who talked to me were
the kids who looked like me. Dyed hair, wearing all black, and generally not very well liked. I was
scared of the new world I was living in and would take any friends I could get. At first it was not so
bad. They were nice to me and wanted to be my friend. Later in the year as we all became more
comfortable they wanted to ditch class. I knew it was wrong so I told them to go without me. The
more they skipped class and did other things without me, the more they stopped talking with me.
They would go out and illegally smoke and

then. When I finished 7th grade my mom decided it was best to move away from the city. It was so
heartbreaking to hear that we were moving. It was the end of the world because we didn't know
anything about where we were moving to. All of our friends since we had in kindergarten were
going to be gone. As 8th grade started it was the worst few months in school. My brother and I only
had each other for friends. We would go to lunch together and sit next to each other and talk about
how much we hated the new school. The only reason why I was able to make a couple of friends

My Family Beliefs
Karen Marie Moning said, "It's what you choose to believe that makes you the person you are."I
agree with this quote because having beliefs is significant by making you poised, victorious, and
brave in life. In addition, everything you do in your daily life is tied back to your beliefs you hold in
the world. When I was young I used to believe that a tooth fairy will come to grab my little tooth
and put a dollar instead. Also, I used to believe that Santa Claus will come one night and will bestow
me a present. Furthermore, I used to hate halloween because I thought zombies will get out in
halloween, and for this reason when I was young I had never went trick treating. As I grow up I
changed my judgment in life as well as my beliefs and, I think my new belief helped me throughout
my life. Now I believe that my family is my happiness, people should be happy in life, and I believe
that having friends is great.
As I have grown up I realized that my family is my happiness for numerous purposes. First of all,
my family gives me the perception of fondness and careness. In other words, I consider that love
and care are the most paramount things that makes people happy. Family members should take care
of each other because as a result people will end up with a trust and strong family ties. Furthermore,
my family always bestow me with a great support. To explain, my family is my strength in hard

Summary Of What Makes A Good Friend, By Alex Lickerman
In the journal entry, "What Makes a Good Friend", by Alex Lickerman, he explains the qualities that
he considers ideal in a true friend. He references the Japanese culture and their term called
'kenzoku', which translates to our version of family. In order to have this sacred bond that is kenzoku
there are certain traits that must be present. Two individuals need to be drawn together, commonly
by similar interests. If this trait doesn't exist, it isn't the end all about becoming friends. You may
also have a history together. Even without common interests, shared experiences will often tie two
people together. Common values are another trait that contributes to a strong bond. If there is
controversy in morals, friendships often fail. Equality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Book Review : Better Off Friends By Elizabeth Eulberg
Better Off Friends "All I'm saying is that it's possible for guys and girls to be friends. I've never
understood what the big deal is. I mean, yeah, we've had to deal with those stupid questions ... Are
you guys together? Why not?". Macallan and Levi met each other in the 7 grade. On the first day of
school they both knew that they were going to be best friends. If you're a girl and you're best friends
with a boy (or vice versa), people are automatically going to assume that they like each other or that
they are a "thing" or they are dating. Macallan and Levi's friends knew that they were just friends,
but they also thought that eventually they would end up dating at some point in time. In the book
Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg, the author shows a change of events that happen in the plot
of the book. These events are revealed when Macallan and Levi start to bond, when they become/are
best friends, and when they finally realize that they both like each other as more than friends. The
first time there was a change of events in the book Better Off Friends is when Macallan and Levi
started to bond. First, the text states, "'That's not –' I stopped myself. What were the chances it was
what I thought it was? It'd be way too random. Levi noticed I was looking at the Keep Calm and
Blimey On button on his bag. 'Oh, there's this totally rad BBC show –' he started to explain. I could
barely contain my excitement. 'Buggy and Floyd. I love that show!'" (9, Eulberg). On Levi's

I Believe In Looking To The Future

  • 1. I Believe In Looking To The Future I believe in looking to the future when you need help. Over the past couple years a lot has changed in my life. At first the changes were very difficult, but by believing it would get better it was easier to push through. My first difficulty was in fifth grade when one of my close friends moved away. I was disappointed but I knew it'd be okay because I still had my best friend as we went into middle school. We made it through the year successfully, but then I heard some bad news. My best friend was moving too. She was my first friend since I'd moved here in second grade and I didn't know what I was going to do. I ended up making some new friends and getting closer with old friends. It was very challenging but now I am happy with a new group ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Quotes In The Bridge To Terabithia A vast majority of people have had a friend or two– a good one, at that. Someone they could trust and talk to. Someone who granted them that spark of childhood and happiness that fueled their games, their talks, their smiles, their personalities. Some friendships grow strong, to the point where they are unbreakable, even after devastating events that seem to tear them apart and hold them down. That's exactly what happens in this story– "The Bridge to Terabithia". An emotional yet realistic and compelling story by Katherine Paterson. It is banned in many places due to swearing and the utterly tragic storyline. The story is about a boy named Jesse, who befriends a girl named Leslie. They make their own little word in the forest– A kingdom dubbed "Terabithia" where they escape the harsh realities of the world and their worries. It is their own world– No one to command them or shut them down. They're finally free to be children; To play and laugh, and simply enjoy each other's company. They are different from everyone else, in their own special ways, and they bring out the best in eachother. For one, Leslie gave him things he may not have ever received on his own, including feelings. She changed him for the better. She helped him to see that there was so much more to be gained and given after a loss. For example, this quote from Chapter thirteen. "It was up to him to pay back to the world in beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him in vision and strength." (Paterson 126) She showed him what happiness and youth can be. Additionally, Leslie helped Jess to push past stereotypes , allowing him to become a better friend and open minded person. She challenged the usual traits that were stitched into girls like they were an article of clothing – simply attaching a tag to them to tell them what they were and what they were not. Yet she seemed to rip her own tag from her body and shout out who she was with such an ecstatic and brave stance. She took Jess by the hand and showed him how much more there was to life then what people are taught. She was different from anyone Jess had ever met. "I hope they have a girl, six or seven," said May Belle. "I need somebody to play with." "You got Joyce Ann." "I hate Joyce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Popular Kids vs Unpopular Kids Popular Kids vs. Unpopular Kids Everyone wants to be the popular kid in high school right? Not always true because popularity isn't always as great as it looks. Belonging in the popular social group in high school can be a rough place for some individuals. In other words, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. While unpopular teens wish to join the other side, they should consider a few things before making a rash decision. While pondering through the negative effects of being popular, one that stands out is the type of people one would become involved with. We all desire to have truthful and caring friends. However, not every person in the popular click is truthful and caring. Before choosing a click, one should think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just imagine the sound of a thousand flies buzzing down the hallway with the latest gossip. In a matter of one day, one comment could be transformed into a rumor and spread through the whole school like wild fire. Drama inevitably corrupts most teens but popular teens thrive on it like an addiction, and sometimes create lies just to ruin one's reputation. True friends, who might not be the most popular kids in school, but they would also never talk about a friend behind his or her back just to gain a higher reputation with the popular click (Article one). Staying out of drama can help one feel less stressed. Avoiding it can also stop individuals from getting involved in something they might regret. Gossip is difficult to find roaming among the unpopular group because they rarely feel the need to seek attention or hurt someone's feelings by spreading rumors. They are already content and aware of how to treat individuals as they would like to be treated. When the weekend hits it is common for the popular click to go out and party. Everyone hears the stories of how drunk someone got or how the cops busted a few unfortunate teenagers. Even the best of teens get peer pressured into going to the weekend party and drinking. All of this obnoxious partying is not appropriate for a 15 to 18 year old teenager. Those "cool parties" consist of high school kids that don't know other ways to have fun or just get drunk to escape their problems. Teens have to step up and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Are Friends Better Than Seinfeld Why Friends is a Better Sitcom Than Seinfeld While the 90s notoriously brought us a myriad of classic sitcoms, there are none as infamous as Friends and Seinfeld. The two are often compared due to their simultaneous airings and similar audiences, but there is no doubt that Friends is the better sitcom. In the world of television, there exists an elusive and uncommonly used tactic that draws viewers in and makes a show golden. This tactic is rare, so rare that Seinfeld obviously has not heard of it. This tactic? A plotline. Seinfeld is dubbed "the show about nothing" because this is exactly what viewers get out of watching it: nothing. No moral lesson, no ethical value, no storyline. Just four characters acting in completely asinine ways for 30 minutes without a purpose. Friends, on the other hand, always teaches us something by the end of the episode. Whether it be the fact that family comes first, or the fact that your friends are your family, Friends has tangible value in it that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Seinfeld universe, a hospital is a place where a Junior Mint is ejected into the abdominal cavity of an unsuspecting patient. While Friends uses a devastating fire to show Rachel and Phoebe becoming closer as roommates, Seinfeld uses a fire to show George actively pushing children out of the way to save himself. Wedding envelopes characterize a new beginning for Monica and Chandler in Friends, while they quite literally cause the death of George's fiancée in Seinfeld. Last but certainly not least, the overall satisfaction of the finales of both shows is incomparable. The Seinfeld finale is the sloppy, unnecessarily collective, last–minute project of a procrastinating student; the Friends finale is the thoughtful, well–put–together dissertation of a successful graduate ... Supposedly, their performance in everything they do such as their performance in doing their jobs. Since the high self monitoring people is highly flexible in changing their characteristics from time to time according to the social situation, in order to meet the people's demands they are to be regard as positive. Means that they are being like by others because of their good self presentation. • 13. Mutual Relationships With Mutual Relationship There is a lot of different opinions when it comes to having a mutual relationship with a male and female without it being anything more. Many believe that this is not right because they feel as though that no man and woman could possibly be friends without any feelings involved in the relationship. This view is often associated with the person who has a significant other that has a close friend that is of the opposite sex. Others who have friends that are of the opposite sex feel as though nothing is wrong with it because they are used to it. I feel as though this topic is rooted to the fact that it is only for the people that are mature, it is important for people on both sides to be mature and have clear intentions with both the friend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, people argue that a heterosexual male and female couldn't be friends because it often ends with them starting a relationship even if they were friends with the person while they had a significant other. I have also seen this happen where a friend of mines was friends with a girl that had a boyfriend and he also had a girlfriend but now they were so close that their friendship has turned into a relationship. I feel as though if everyone knows the other persons intention it will be less difficult, even though sometimes their intentions often change. Communicating with a person of the opposite sex about how you feel emotionally often helps because something you would not feel comfortable with just venting to the same sex. Although men seem strong and nothing ever phases them it is important to have a friend for emotional support. Often men go through things that hit them emotionally and it is better to have a female to vent to rather than another male. This is shown when someone loses a family or a tragic situation of that sort, sure your buddies can give you a word of encouragement but to tell someone how you feel deep down inside it is helpful to have a female to talk to. Often women are more comfortable to talk to than a guy about something a male is going through on an emotional level. • 15. Better to Betray My Country and Not My Friend We as human beings all have choices. Many of the choices we make can affect us for the rest of our lives. Among the more important decisions a person will ever have to face is that of betrayal. Often times we are in a situation in which we must chose sides: "Whom to betray?", and in this case, the options are friend or country. I agree with E. M. Forster's view on personal relations and patriotism, believing that "I hope I should have the guts to betray my country" (Forster) over my friend. A person should always – and one might even say has a duty to – place his conscience or the moral laws he has set for himself over any conflicting manmade law. Many examples throughout history have set precedents for this sort of behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her intent was not to cause chaos. Her intent was not to disrespect Creon. She knew the only way her brother could receive respectful passage to an afterlife was if he received proper burial. Her religious beliefs and strong love did not allow her to remain passive and not act to help her brother. Antigone's moral standards obligated her to betray her country in order to help her brother. For these reasons, Antigone was justified in breaking the law and betraying her country. There are, however, situations in which betraying one's country is unjustified. When a person or group violently and disrespectfully breaks a law, such as the Weather Underground did in their protest of the lack of attention being given to the Vietnam War, their actions are unjustified. Now let us distinguish between an unjust action and an unjust cause. The Weathermen were in my opinion morally justified to go against the government and protest the war in Vietnam (obviously protest is very different than betrayal, but for the sake of an example ...). This was their morally justified cause. By bombing buildings and bashing glass, they proceeded to act unjustly and were at fault. Nevertheless, the Weather Underground was right in placing their personal beliefs over their country. The opposition might say that one's duty us to his country and not his own selfish desires, and they may be partially right. If it was just a selfish desire such as wealth or fame, ... She blinked as she adapted to the dim light, the last traces of some dream or nightmare lingering only for a minute on her confused mind, as the rest of her terrible reality came into focus like a distorted sunset dancing off rippling ocean waves. She hated this time of day, this period of momentary confusion, because after the confusion always came the same thing. Realization. Realization that the only thing her eyes were awaking to was sharp electric light and four plain brick walls. The confusion passed. The realization set in. • 22. Friendship Is The True Meaning Of It Friendship, something that we all have but something that we may not really understand the true meaning of it. During the reading Thoreau goes into detail of how friends are really not what we think them to be. We often don't actually have friends but rather just acquaintances or companions. He goes on to explain who are real friends are and why they are our friends and that no one else really is. Thoreau states, "What is commonly called friendship even is only a little more honor among rogues" (p. 144). This brings attention to that a friendship is slightly more than someone who is dishonest to you. Your friend will only tell the truth once in a while. They do what they believe to be best for you. When we have friends we are only saying "they are not our enemy" (p. 143). Our friend may not always be someone we get along with greatly but someone whom we do not dishonor. We are not at war with them or out to make their lives inferior. We respect who they are and what they do but only because we are friends with them and not enemies. A friend should be treated "no better than I (they) should be"(p. 143) says Thoreau. If a man deserves to be treated as one who is disrespectful or dishonest then that is how they shall be treated. Can we consider our neighbors friends? We treat them the way the deserve to be treated because they living next to us. The narrator said in paragraph 78 " i'm going" he said in paragraph seventy eight trying to look brave. Then he got an idea that if Max and horse didn't follow he wouldn't have to keep going on the bridge but Max and Horse were following him. This is important because it really brings out my topic sentence and shows that the narrator wants to be better than his friends. Another reason friendships can mean rivalries is if you are in a friendship you never want to be less tough than your friends you always want to stand out. Max chips at that he has his compass, so if they don't want to go he will go on without them because he has is scouts compass. Also When Max said " i've got my compass." Over the freshman year of highschool I became friends with a few people who I called my friends until the middle of the summer before sophmore year. These were the people I considered to be the best I could get and all I would have in my highschool years. They consider each other their enemies and do whatever it takes to be better than one another. When the enemies need help for same problem, they unite themselves to solve the problem. The short story "The Interlopers" by Saki is about unification and reveals how enemies become allies in harsh situations. Ulrich von Gradwitz and Georg Znaeym were enemies because Ulrich was the owner of the forest land, and Georg was trying to steal Ulrich's forest land. They met in the middle of the forest and tried to kill each other. However, they were trapped by the huge tree that fell from a fiery storm. Waiting for their men to rescue them, Ulrich offered Georg a wine. Ulrich von Gradwitz told Georg Znaeym that if Ulrich's men come faster than Georg's men then Ulrich will tell the men to rescue George first, and that they have better things to do than "getting the better of a boundary dispute" (Saki 86). The quote shows that Ulrich wanted to be friends with Georg rather than fighting over who gets the forest land. Ulrich asked George to be his friend, and George accepted his request. Waiting for their men to come and help them, both wished that their private men would come first so they can be the "first to show honorable attention" to the other (Saki 87). • 40. Better Off Friends Character Analysis Imagine moving from Los Angeles, California to a small town in Wisconsin and not knowing anyone at the new school. Anyone in this situation would want to make friends that would accept them in the new town. This is the position Levi, one of the main characters in Elizabeth Eulberg's Better off Friends, is in when he starts middle school. Macallan, the other main character, is the person that befriends Levi, and they become very close very fast. Being a new kid from down south, many people stereotype Levi because of how he looks and the way he acts, which was normal in Los Angeles where he used to live, but odd to the people in Wisconsin. For this reason the boys at school did not really want to hang out with Levi, and that is why he and Macallan become such good friends in a short amount of time. The two of them could find a lot that they had in common, even though they were from completely different places. Macallan and Levi were together a lot, so when they hung out just the two of them, people would think they were dating when they were not. This is the second stereotype addressed in the book; a boy and a girl that spend lots of time together do not have to be a boyfriend and a girlfriend. Throughout middle school and high school, they were constantly asked if they were dating, when they were not. Therefore, in Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg, Eulberg addresses stereotypes about where people come from and people of the opposite gender being just friends. First ... • 44. Seinfeld Vs Friends Research Paper ¬Why Seinfeld is a Better Sitcom Than Friends Seinfeld vs. Friends: the ultimate battle of the sitcoms. Both of these shows dominated 90s television, but it is clear that one reigns supreme. While Friends complicates things by having lovable characters, sequential plotlines, and ethical value, Seinfeld does none of those things. And this is why it wins. When watching television, I can assure you that my end–goal is certainly not to learn some kind of morally uplifting lesson that makes me want to be a better person. In fact, my end–goal is nonexistent, because that is the point of a sitcom. This is exactly what Seinfeld does perfectly. It allows its characters to perform in completely asinine and comical ways for 30 minutes, without the unnecessary addition of a lesson, or even a plotline. I want nothing out of a sitcom. And Seinfeld, the show about nothing, gives me just that. Another nuance that Seinfeld executes perfectly is its characters. They are real. They are relatable. Every event that a character goes through in the show can somehow be applied to our own lives, because nothing is romanticized in Seinfeld. While Friends portrays Monica, a previously overweight child and current Chef, as an attractive woman with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Meanwhile his best friend Phineas excels at sports. The book begins with Gene as an adult at his old school Devon. He then begins to talk about about how much he has grown since those day by stating, " I had more money and success and "security" than in the days when specters seemed to go up and down them with me." At first I was confused why the author put quotation marks around security but it soon made sense. The author used the literary element Foil to highlight Phineas. The character he used to do this was Gene. This helped the reader establish a sense of feeling and connection with Gene. This is an efficient way to hook the reader in and wanna keep reading. So I will be discussing how exactly the author did this. There are always gonna be people who have different strengths than us and sometimes we wish we had that strength. Gene is a perfect example except he wishes he was exactly like Phineas. So Gene creates his own rivalry with him because of how much he admires him and wants to strive to be better than him. This is shown when he states, "I found a single sustaining thought. The thought was, You and Phineas are even already. You are even in enmity. You are both coldly driving ahead for yourselves alone....I felt better. We were even after all, even in enmity. The deadly rivalry was on both sides after all." This quote shows that he ... It all began with my big secret coming out and continued to roll into a giant snowball, up until I finally found the sun to melt it away. I went through a long depressive phase and then along my journey I found peace again. In 2014 my family had found out about the sexual predator we had in the family. I thought it was only my secret about my Uncle but, turns out it was my sisters too. The everyday struggle of having no sight or hearing in it of itself is a challenging experience. To gain success in anything she had to work 100 times harder than any other pupil, to create stories she had to endure the tedious process of rewriting thoughts countless times prior to putting a single word on paper due to the fear of plagiarism. Everything that was thrown at Helen she learned how to fight through it; in my opinion, I believe that all these experiences conditioned her into stronger and an undoubtably driven woman. To this day being popular or well liked is one of the biggest problems on high schoolers minds. Humans are creatures of habit. We seek to be well liked and to have lots of friends. When we are not invested in what someone we are interested in is, we often pretend to like it. Even going so far as to participate in certain things we would normally not. • 68. My Family Beliefs Karen Marie Moning said, "It's what you choose to believe that makes you the person you are."I agree with this quote because having beliefs is significant by making you poised, victorious, and brave in life. In addition, everything you do in your daily life is tied back to your beliefs you hold in the world. When I was young I used to believe that a tooth fairy will come to grab my little tooth and put a dollar instead. Also, I used to believe that Santa Claus will come one night and will bestow me a present. Furthermore, I used to hate halloween because I thought zombies will get out in halloween, and for this reason when I was young I had never went trick treating. As I grow up I changed my judgment in life as well as my beliefs and, I think my new belief helped me throughout my life. Now I believe that my family is my happiness, people should be happy in life, and I believe that having friends is great. As I have grown up I realized that my family is my happiness for numerous purposes. First of all, my family gives me the perception of fondness and careness. In other words, I consider that love and care are the most paramount things that makes people happy. Family members should take care of each other because as a result people will end up with a trust and strong family ties. Furthermore, my family always bestow me with a great support. To explain, my family is my strength in hard times especially when I face stressful situations. My family makes me a confident ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 70. Summary Of What Makes A Good Friend, By Alex Lickerman In the journal entry, "What Makes a Good Friend", by Alex Lickerman, he explains the qualities that he considers ideal in a true friend. He references the Japanese culture and their term called 'kenzoku', which translates to our version of family. In order to have this sacred bond that is kenzoku there are certain traits that must be present. Two individuals need to be drawn together, commonly by similar interests. If this trait doesn't exist, it isn't the end all about becoming friends. You may also have a history together. Even without common interests, shared experiences will often tie two people together. Common values are another trait that contributes to a strong bond. If there is controversy in morals, friendships often fail. Equality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 72. Book Review : Better Off Friends By Elizabeth Eulberg Better Off Friends "All I'm saying is that it's possible for guys and girls to be friends. I've never understood what the big deal is. I mean, yeah, we've had to deal with those stupid questions ... Are you guys together? Why not?". Macallan and Levi met each other in the 7 grade. On the first day of school they both knew that they were going to be best friends. If you're a girl and you're best friends with a boy (or vice versa), people are automatically going to assume that they like each other or that they are a "thing" or they are dating. Macallan and Levi's friends knew that they were just friends, but they also thought that eventually they would end up dating at some point in time. In the book Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg, the author shows a change of events that happen in the plot of the book. These events are revealed when Macallan and Levi start to bond, when they become/are best friends, and when they finally realize that they both like each other as more than friends. The first time there was a change of events in the book Better Off Friends is when Macallan and Levi started to bond. First, the text states, "'That's not –' I stopped myself. What were the chances it was what I thought it was? It'd be way too random. Levi noticed I was looking at the Keep Calm and Blimey On button on his bag. 'Oh, there's this totally rad BBC show –' he started to explain. I could barely contain my excitement. 'Buggy and Floyd. I love that show!'" (9, Eulberg). On Levi's ...
