Task P5. Hand Powered Can Crusher
Task 1–P5
Hand powered can crusher
The hand powered can crusher design is of a can crusher that is operated by hand. The material the
crusher is made out of Cast al–alloy, this is a relatively strong material as well as having a low
density, this is good because it will be light enough to carry around wherever you go. The height of
the can crusher is 150 mm and the width is 70 mm, these are ideal dimensions because the
dimensions of an average beverage care are 122.7 mm height and 54.1 mm height, this means that
the can crusher will fit the beverage can inside it whilst also being easily storable when not in use
due to the small size. The crushing plate of the can crusher is made out of low carbon steel (mild
steel), this is a good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The top part of the can crusher is also removable, this is for easy storage and it is the only way of
getting the can inside the crusher to be crushed. The crushing plate has a thickness of 20mm. The
can crusher is hand a foot operated so it can be used by everyone; this includes people with
disabilities such as not having the use of their arms or legs.
Electrically powered can crusher
The motorised can crusher design proposal is about a can crusher that is powered by a motor that
will push the crushing plate towards the can to crush it, there is a button on the side to turn the motor
on. The material used to make this crusher is stainless steel for the casing and the crushing plate is
made from aluminium of thickness 15mm. the height the can crusher 200 mm and the width of the
can crusher is 250 mm.

Task 3–P7
Hand powered can crusher
The hand powered can crusher meets all the criteria set out in the design brief. It is made from low
carbon steel and cast al–alloy, these are relatively cheap materials, the lever of the hand powered can
crusher is 70 mm long, it runs on a bearing system so the friction forces are reduced and it is easy
for people to use. The top bit of this crusher is removable for easy storage in kitchen

Separation of Gold
The industrial separation process that I have decided to do is gold separation. Gold separation can be
done in a number of ways but there is not always one way to do it, but the combination of a couple
of these processes to extract pure gold. Gold is obtained form the lithosphere. It is separated from
the ore found in the lithosphere.
Gold's symbol is Au. Its atomic number is 79 and has an atomic mass of 196.96655 amu. Its melting
point is 1064.43°C, while its boiling point is 2807.0 °C. It is a transition metal and is yellow or gold
in colour.
There are also many principles used in the separation of gold. One of these is boiling points in the
process of smelting. In Froth floatation, the principle is the organic chemicals in the ... Show more

Smelting and roasting are classified as pyrometallurgy, which is, the use of heat for the treatment of
an ore
Heap Leach Process:
Low grade gold–bearing ore is mined in an open cut, then crushed and screened. Lime is mixed with
the ore to control the pH of the leaching operation. The ore is piled into heaps on polyethylene pads
and cyanide solution is sprayed over the heaps. The cyanide dissolves most of the gold as it trickles
through the ore, producing a "pregnant" solution which is collected in drains at the edge of the heap
and pumped to a gold recovery circuit, usually a Carbon in Leach
Mining:
Gold in the ground occurs either mixed with loose materials (alluvial) or as grains locked amongst
other mineral grains in solid rock. Some gold may be chemically combined with other elements in
the mineral grains. To obtain a sellable gold end–product, ore must be mined and concentrated. The
gold must be liberated from other interlocking minerals then separated from all other contaminants.
Dredging:
Some of the alluvial goldfields discovered early this century were mined using floating dredges. In
Australia, some rivers in the Snowy Mountains and particularly in central Victoria at Beechworth,
were mined by this method.
Normally a pond is built for the dredge which uses a chain– bucket at the front to excavate the loose
gold–bearing sediment The gold is separated by gravity sorting

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Recycled Aggregates
The recycled aggregates can undergo some processing procedures and adaptation to the desired
characteristics. Some of these processes are: homogenisation, crushing and screening and
autogenous cleaning. The homogenisation process Material aims to standardise and remove waste
materials such as wood, steel, plastics, among others. Initially, construction waste and demolition
are separated by the predominant color: gray or red. It is then performed quartering, where the
material is distributed in different layers along a plastic and from the middle section, they are
divided into several sections entitled cells. The material is then sent to a crusher where grinding
occurs (Kwan, Ramli, Kam and Sulieman, 2012).
The crushing and screening aimed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In general, the durability of concrete covers directly on the ease or difficulty of fluid transport within
the concrete, and classified as a concrete or too little permeable. The main transport agent fluid is
water in the concrete, which may be pure or contain aggressive agents, such as dioxide carbon and
oxygen. The displacement of these elements will depend on the concrete structure hydrated cement
paste (Neville, 1997). THE Concrete durability of recycled aggregates also it depends on the ease or
otherwise of transport these fluids. Olorunsogo and Padayachee (2002) studied properties related to
the durability of concrete as the conductivity of chloride ions, sortividade permeability to oxygen
and water, containing percentages of 0%, 50% and 100% replacement of natural aggregates by
recycled. The results showed that the durability decreases increases in proportion as the percentage
of replacement for all properties evaluated. However, these properties improve with increasing age
and with percentages of 50% recycled aggregates in the

Research Paper On Jaw Crushers
Abstract– This paper describes the weight reduction of jaw plate and materials for jaw crushers in
mining industry.. The interaction between the jaw plates and material is an necessary process in
crushing of stone. Where moving and fixed jaw is used. The movement of the moving and fixed jaw
is described in detail. The continuous crush of mining results in wear of jaw plates which results in
reduction of weight of jaw plates due to which efficiency of plates decreases in jaw crusher and after
certain period plate failure occurs which require continuous change of plates due to which cost
increases. A suitable material selection may avoid the this failure an improve the life of jaw
crushers.
Keyword: – Jaw crusher, Crushing, Abrasive wear, material.
I. INTRODUCTION
Jaw crushers generally of heavy duty steel box, fitted with fix vertical crushing "jaw" at one end and
a moving "jaw" opposing it, with a method of transferring motion to the moving jaw. The moving
jaw swing towards and away from the fixed jaw, creating a compression action on the rock. ... Show

It was designed in 1857 by Eli Whitney Blake. In the double toggle machine the moving jaw (swing
jaw) is pivoted at the top on the concentric swing–jaw shaft fitted with plain bushes, either in the
frame of the crusher or in the swing jaw. A reciprocating action is imparted to the swing jaw through
the toggles, on either side of, and actuated by eccentric shaft, generally with roller bearings. The
eccentric shaft generally has two flywheels fitted, depending on the design of the machine. The
swing jaw is held against the toggles by tension rods and springs. Adjustment of crusher setting is
achieved by moving the toggle block and adding or removing shims as required. The toggles are the
overload protection devices for the machine, being designed to fail in the event of a crusher
overload, thus protecting the main crusher

Essential Materials And Establishing The Compressive Strength
Introduction
Concrete is a vital construction material and establishing the compressive strength is key as the
ability to maximise the compressive strength will enhance a structures lifespan. Mortar is formed
through the mixing of cement and water before being cast to harden. When the cement and water is
mixed the process of hydration occurs forming a paste which then hardens. Once concrete is cast
and dries the presence of curing time is important. Not all chemical reactions occur quickly,
therefore by curing concrete in water for several days it allows all reactions to complete. Therefore
allowing concrete to cure for up to 28 days should ensure that the compressive strength is
maximised and it should meet industry standards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Methodology
In preparation for the laboratory concrete specimens should be prepared in line with the Civil
Engineering technicians' standard mix. 4 concrete cube samples with no plasticiser should be
produced and another 4 Specimens should also be produced in line with this standard mix but with
the addition of plasticiser as well. The 8 specimens should then be left to cure in water for specified
time periods: 0, 7, 14, 28 days.
In the laboratory the dimensions of each concrete cube was measured using callipers. It was ensured
that before each reading the calliper was zeroed to minimise any errors. The length, width and then
depth was measured before proceeding to the next sample. 2 members measured the samples whilst
2 recorded the results. After all dimensions were recorded the mass of each cube was obtained using
an analytical balance weighing the samples cured from 0 days up to 28 days.
Next the cubes underwent the compression test. The cubes were tested in order of curing time so 0
days no plasticiser, 0 days plasticiser, 7 days no plasticiser and so forth. The cube was placed on the
support in the cube crusher and adjustments were made so the force would be applied evenly on the
cube's surface. The force was then increased slowly, compressing the block. The force at which the
concrete cube failed was recorded. The concrete cube was then

Benefits Of Using Crusher Stone Dust
LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1General
Various researches have been done to explore the benefits of using crusher stone dust in concrete
unit to enhancing the properties of concrete like compressive strength, flexural strength, etc
replacing cement / fine aggregate by weight or by volume. In the previous investigation, researchers
used fiber like polypropylene, nylon polyester, coconut coir, glass fiber, steel fiber etc. for the
enhancement of mechanical properties and partial or full replacement of ingredient of concrete by
fly ash, stone dust, and unconventional coarse aggregate in paver block. A brief description of
previous research work on utilisation of alternative of fine aggregate and fiber used in concrete
paver block is given below.

Why Is A Bus Called Heaven Figurative Language
A Bus called Heaven, displays the use of the right words. The author accomplishes this by making
the writing understandable and believable(p.22). Graham also provides sensory details such as
similies to help the reader visualise the story.
The author, Bob Graham is not afraid to use precise vocabulary. Throughout the book, the writer
shows instead of tells, which give the readers a sense of feeling and seeing what the character Stella
is experiencing. An example of this was when the author depicts the image of the bus settled on
Stella's front garden, " Weeds nudged up around the tyres, snails made silver trails and a pair of
sparrows nested in the engine". The benefits of writers using precise vocabulary besides creating
experiences for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Bus called Heaven uses similies to describe the appearance of Stella. Graham accomplishes this
by writing, "Stella the colour of moonlight" and " She was so pale, you could almost see through
her." which allows the reader to visualise Stella as porcelain.
Dialogue allows the writer to describe the character's personalities, motives, prejudices and motives
(p.26). If speech is not natural and individual as a particular personality, it can demonstrate the
character as stiff and shallow (p.26). Graham uses appropriate dialogue to describe the characters'
motives for wanting to keep the bus and the appreciation they have for the bus being in the
community. The author also depicts the motives and personalities of the bone crusher boss and the
tow truck driver in a way to represent them negatively to the reader.
The sound of words add to the appeal and strength of the story as they blend together, create
emphasis and repeat tones (p.26). The music of language is present in A bus called Heaven, with the
sentence lengths varying, creating a smooth and flowing narrative that reads with a musical quality

Pros And Cons Of The Ka-Bar Lake Effect Ice Scraper
Introduction –
There's nothing like driving through the city with the top down on a summer's day. In winter,
however, driving becomes a lot less fun. Nobody likes standing in the cold at seven in the morning,
trying to pry the ice from their windshield. To shorten the ice removal process, you should get your
snow gloved hands on a car scraper.
What Is A Car Scraper? –
During the colder months, ice collects on idle cars overnight, covering windshields, bonnets, and
pretty much every inch of a vehicle's exterior. While a little bit of ice on your car door or bumper
isn't such a big deal, the ice gathered on your windows is cause for concern. When your windshield
is covered by a blanket of frost, it becomes impossible to see through, so you ... Show more content

The Lake Effect Ice Scraper features a hard plastic blade which will glide smoothly across your
windshield, removing snow and ice in practically no time at all.
Pros
American Made –
If you want to purchase an American made car scraper, the Ka–Bar Lake Effect is one of only a few
available. There are a number of reasons one might chose an American made car scraper over one
manufactured elsewhere. For a start, doing so will stimulate the American economy. Furthermore,
employees in Chinese factories – where many other car scrapers are manufactured – are often
underpaid and poorly treated.
Doubles as a Weapon –
I guess you could say all car scrapers double as a weapon, but the Ka–Bar Lake Effect Ice Scraper
was specifically designed to be used as a self–defense tool when not ridding windshields of ice.
Cons
Funds Production of Hunting Tools –
If you are a fan of hunting, this probably won't be too much of an issue for you. However, car
owners who are against hunting for sport should note that Ka–Bar also manufacturers hunting
equipment, meaning a portion of the money spent on this car scraper will likely go into funding the
production of further hunting

The Transactions Between Bell Hospitality Limited
Question 1 The transactions between Bell Hospitality Limited (BHL) and Costbite Limited
(Costbite) is undoubtedly a dealing in the course of business and a sale of goods contract, therefore,
it will be governed by the Sale of Goods Act 1979. A contract of sale is a lawful agreement to
transfer the ownership of any particular goods in exchange for an approved monetary consideration
from the other party. This transfer of ownership is also known as the passing of property. The issues
highlighted by BHL focuses on if there is any passing of property and ultimately, who bears the risk
of goods that have been part of the contract. By discussing each of the goods – the 20 bottles of
Hollinger finest champagne, 12 bottles of Australian Premium white wine and the 12 bottles of
South African red wine – separately, we will be able to determine if the property has passed to BHL
and whether or not, Kerry bears the risk of the loss of the three goods due to the floods. Generally, it
should be noted that the transfer of ownership does not only occur when there is a handover of
psychical possession of the goods. At times, the seller may still have possession of the goods but the
ownership would have passed on to the buyer, and on certain occasions, the buyer would have
possession of the item but the ownership may still remain with the seller. Thus, many a times
uncertainties have risen due to the seemingly challenging task of needing to prove that they have
ownership over the goods but

Famous Volcanoes Quiz
Magma can also push up under the middle of a lithosphere plate, though this is much less common
than magma production around plate boundaries. This interplate volcanic activity is caused by
unusually hot mantle material forming in the lower mantle and pushing up into the upper mantle.
The mantle material, which forms a plume shape that is from 500 to 1000 km wide, wells up to
create a hot spot under a particular point on the earth. Because of the unusual heat of this mantle
material, it melts, forming magma just under the earth's crust. The hot spot itself is stationary; but as
a continental plate moves over the spot, the magma will create a string of volcanoes, which die out
once they move past the hot spot. The Hawaii volcanoes were created ... Show more content on

Because of this difference in density, the magma pushes upward with great force (for the same
reason the helium in a balloon pushes up through the denser surrounding air and oil pushes upward
through denser surrounding water). As it pushes up, its intense heat melts some more rock, adding to
the magma mixture.
The magma keeps moving through the crust unless its upward pressure is exceeded by the
downward pressure of the surrounding solid rock. At this point, the magma collects in magma
chambers below the surface of the earth. If the magma pressure rises to a high enough level, or a
crack opens up in the crust, the molten rock will spew out at the earth's surface.
If this happens, the flowing magma (now called lava) forms a volcano. The structure of the volcano,
and the intensity of the volcanic eruption, is dependent on a number of factors, primarily the
composition of the magma. In the next section, we'll look at some different magma types and see
how they

Grief In A Day And Ray Bradbury's Poems
Grief is a powerful thing. It can consume someone and spit them back out without a second thought.
A person can be absolutely devoured by this unsavory beast, and once you've encountered it, no
matter how much time has passed, you never truly escape the beast. And said beast can make you
become a totally different person entirely. The song "Again" by Crusher–P and the short story "All
Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury both touch on the power of grief and what it does to the person
and the people around them. While they both have their differences, both have something in
common. Both texts refer to the idea that when you become cold and reclusive because of the pain
of loss, you are fully responsible for the pain that comes your way. Crusher–P's ... Show more

Margot and the main character of "Again" have not gotten over the pain of whoever they've lost. But
the connection between these two characters brings up an idea that may not have been seen in the
two passages. Because these characters have completely changed themselves from the pain of losing
someone, they are directly responsible for the pain they endure. Going back to Margot, she seems
like "the rain washed away the blue from her eyes and the red from her mouth and the yellow from
her hair." (Bradbury) She looks dead. And in "All Summer in a Day", the children pick on her and
mostly ignore her. While they were jealous of her for seeing the sun, they are also human. Would
you want to hang around someone who seems dead? No, you wouldn't want to, now would you?
These children are human, and they cannot be expected to absolutely coddle someone who looks
and acts like she's dead. "Again" takes it a step further and the main character is, in fact, aware that
they are sending people away and acknowledges the fact. "I haven't been myself lately, I don't blame
you for not wanting to stay." (Crusher–P) They know that they are sending people away. They know
that them having "every inch of [them] is charred" (Crusher–P) is not something that people want to
be around. They might not like having people sent away because of their persona, but

Business Structure Of The United States
For many, the American dream involves owning a business and achieving financial stability.
However, to achieve this American dream, one must create a business plan that involves the
consideration of appropriate business structure. In the United States there are several business
structures offered for consideration. Sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and limited
liability companies have their advantages and disadvantages. Any new business must evaluate the
available business forms to determine which structure will be the most advantageous to the new
business. The three most important aspects to determining a business structure are taxation, liability,
and growth opportunities (capital mainly). In a scenario involving the ... Show more content on

Sole proprietorships are simple to set up and simple to begin conducting business. However, there
are several significant drawbacks to sole proprietorship. Sole proprietorship has one owner and is
therefore limited in its access to capital (Cole, 2011). Without access to additional capital, a business
could struggle and would be unable to grow. Another significant drawback is legal liability. Given
that there is only one owner, all liability resides with the one owner (Cole, 2011). This sole legal
liability puts the owner's personal property and business property at risk. In the business case
involving Mr. Picard and Ms. Crusher, sole proprietorship is not an available option due to the
presence of two owners and the concern of legal liability. The Final Frontier would be not
appropriate as a sole proprietorship. Partnership Similar to a sole proprietorship, a partnership
business structure is simple to create. There are no legal forms to file and agreements between the
partners are not required (Kubasek, Browne, Herron, Dhooge, & Barkacs, 2016). A partnership
business structure allows two people to combine resources to enhance business profits (Winrow,
2008). With the addition of another owner, capital funds are increased, resulting in additional growth
potential. Another advantage to engaging in a partnership is the method of taxation. Income in a
partnership flows through as personal income;

Crusher And The Black Death
Wreaking havoc throughout Europe, The Black Death was a destructive plague that left over twenty
million dead in its track. Despite the atrocious consequences of this disease, it yielded a favourable
aftermath such as the stability of the European population and the increase in demand for work
(Damen, 2015). Similarly to The Black Death, the novel Crusher by Niall Leonard shows that
positive outcomes often appear from situations that may seem negative. The protagonist of the
novel, Finn Maguire, finds himself as the prime suspect in the murder investigation of his father,
Noel. The murder of Finn's father and his pursuit to clear his name reflect the notion that there are
trials that appear bitter to the core which are often blessings in disguise. As a result of Noel's
murder, Finn forms a passionate relationship with a girl named Zoe, reconnects with his mother, and

Report
The floor was a little weird Wednesday, it just had a funny vibe going on. I don't know if it was
because of that one patient and his wife or if it was the nurses. But, it wasn't right and Kelly and
Christina did not receive report on one of their patients because of it. You could tell that Kelly not
receiving report threw her off. Professor Davis reminded her to just take a deep breath and move on.
Do what she could and get the information that she could from the chart and move on with the day.
We then went and talked to Leslie and asked if she was ready to pass meds for her patient. Professor
Davis had me and Goma the other team leader write down the meds and tell her what they were and
what they are used for. She also asked Leslie the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kelly said she saw her nurse give their patient pain meds so she assumed that her nurse gave her the
other meds as well. We should never assume things are done, but I probably would have done the
same without thinking about it. Kelly didn't have time to look up the meds so we helped her when
she wasn't for sure on a med. We gave the patient Aspirin, Citalopram, Clopidogrel, Diltiazem,
Docusate, Furrous, Furosemide, Lactobacillus, Iron, Prednisone, Silva den cream, and Spirolactone.
The patient did not want to take all those at one time so, we crushed them in a pill crusher. Which
some were in a capsule so we broke those open and pored them into the pill crusher as well. I felt a
little bad because, I knew Kelly was flustered and I know she knows her stuff, so to see her struggle
really bothered me. We then moved onto her next patient which was a male and he was a retired
Army vet. I noticed that he was a talker and he kept trying to talk to you guys while you were trying
to figure out what all was needed to give. So, I decided to try and get him to talk to me and distract
him while you all figured everything out. I got to know him a just by him telling me his life story. I

Louisiana. He had some really interesting stories and I was glad I could help you guys but, also get

In the forming stage, the group is formed and the group members try to get to know each other and

development to have a clear objective, define goals, and plan how the team will achieve their tasks.
In my previous groups in 1st term, there was some discomfort and confusion, I think, primarily due
to the fact that we did not know each other well and did not have clear goals and an understanding
of how we would function together as a team. But in the GDTB group, some of us had already

Sand is collected from quarries, river bed or sea beaches and excavated predominantly by
mechanically operated excavators. Fuel consumed by a 5 MT capacity excavator is around 45 litres
of diesel for 8 hours operation and approx 100 cu.m of excavation and dumping of sand. One litre of
diesel produces 0.00263 MT of CO2 [33]. So for excavation of sand from quarry, approx 0.0008 MT
per MT of sand or 0.00128 MT of CO2 is emitted per cu.m of sand (considering bulk density of
cement as 1.6 MT/cu.m.).
In a stone quarry, minimum specific fuel consumption has been estimated as 89 gallons/MT (400.5
litres / MTe) for a mine transport system with three excavators and two crushers [34]. In a stone
crushing plant of 160 MT per day capacity, which consists of primary crusher, secondary and

Torture Techniques Used In Medieval Times
Medieval Times was a very dark and evil place. They tortured people for saying a little white lie.
Depending on how bad what they did, the more and worse the punishment is. During this time
period, many people faced gruesome and violent punishments used with crazy, out of the mind
torture weapons. Many torture weapons had spikes involved. For example, the Chair of Torture. The
Chair of Torture was a chair that spikes everywhere on it. The arms, the back, where you sit, all of it
covered in sharp spikes. To avoid movement, the arms and chest were strapped into the device,
which made the sharp spikes engrave their skin more and more. Another device that used spikes was

vagina for women. They would tie your feet and arms and everything away from your body so it
hurts more. Sometimes, they would leave the victim overnight so it would keep hurting and hurting.

Gender Roles In Star Trek Next Generation Essay
In 1966 a series called "Star Trek" was created. It's creator, Gene Roddenberry, did not
create the show to be a science fiction series. The series was much deeper than that. It wasn't just
about discovering new planets and civilizations. It was about controversial issues. Even though the
series' take place in the 23rd and 24th century the issues struck with the times and related current
issues. Through each series, The Original, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager, there
has been progression with the times and the issues. The issues that surround the episodes of Star

There was the captain, Janeway, Kes and Seven of Nine. This series brought women into leadership
roles. The progression of women in Star Trek has been appropriately timed and has even pushed a
little bit past the time. Even though Uhura basically played the role of a secretary her role still
pushed the envelope for the time because of her race. She was a black actress during or right after
the civil rights movement. She even thought of quitting the role because she felt that she wasn't used
enough for her role in the series. However, after Martin Luther King, Jr. talked to her and told her
how important it would be for her to stay on the show, she did. Women in Star Trek have progressed
from a secretary type, to a doctor and counselor, to the second in command and eventually the first
in command or the captain. Their progress allows them to be more influential.
Let's talk more specifically about the Next Generation series. The Original series showed the four
starring male roles to provide everything for the crew. This is not the case in Next Generation. Next
Generation is more like a family with a father, a mother and children. But who were the biggest
members of the family? There are four characters, which give the presence of a family on Next
Generation.

Personal Narrative Essay
One day a little bird came to say hello and decided she liked the room under my hood. Soon, she
brought her whole family to stay.
A raccoon came in one cold, winter night and made himself at home.
Now I had many friends living with me.
But I missed my people a lot.
Years later, in 1985, my owner came in with his brother and I thought: This is the day.
I heard them talking as they took the boxes off me.
He noted how I had sunk down in the dirt floor.
How all my tires were broken and flat.
How my floors rusted away from the dirt and dampness.
How my gas tank now had a big hole in it.
How all my wiring was falling apart.
As they took parts off, they said that I was too far gone and no one would want me.
So my owner put a For Sale notice in the newspaper.
But no one came. I guess they were right. Nobody wanted me.
I got nervous when my owner said that the junk man was coming to get me next Monday.
I became really scared when he said they would put me in a "CRUSHER".
He shut the garage door and left me in the dark with my little friends trying to comfort me.
Later in the week, something really strange happened.
It was Thursday night, right before CRUSHER MONDAY.
The garage door opened to reveal my owner with a flashlight. A strange man came in with him,
holding his very own flashlight.
They moved all the boxes out of my back seat and lifted all the other junk off my hood and trunk.
The stranger kept shining the flashlight everywhere, inspecting me with a keen eye.

Each Shovel takes 11.5 m3 / load with 480 m3 / hr to get 0.024 hr/load. Each Truck takes 36 m3 /
load with 128 m3 / hr to get 0.28 hr/load. Load a truck 36 m3 / load with Shovel 480 m3 / hr to get
0.075 hr/load. Dump time by a truck in hr is given as 1.7 min or 0.028 hr. Calculations | Shovels |
Trucks | Hr / load | 0.024 | 0.28 | Load time for a truck / shovel by hr | 0.075 | Dump time for truck
by hr | 0.028 | Trip time for truck without load and dump time by hr | 0.177 |
The whole trip takes 0.28 hrs or "16.8 mins".
Trip= time taken to load truck by shovel + time taken from shovel to crusher+ time taken for
dumping+ time taken to drive back from crusher to shovel.
So 0.28 = 0.075+ time taken between shovel and crusher (twice) + 0.028
So time taken between shovel and crusher (twice) is 0.177 hrs, so each trip takes 0.0885hrs (5.31

team, a sport that requires a lot of strength, speed, agility, endurance and explosive power I will give
him the 1rm bench test for his upper body strength and for his lower body strength I will give him
the 1rm strength test using the squat instead of the leg press as the squat is a better overall leg
exercise that recruits more muscle fibers than the leg press. The squat is also more practical to the
sport of wrestling as many of the wresting takedowns require the wrestlers to squat low to the
ground. For endurance I would give him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Task P5. Hand Powered Can Crusher

  • 1. Task P5. Hand Powered Can Crusher Task 1–P5 Hand powered can crusher The hand powered can crusher design is of a can crusher that is operated by hand. The material the crusher is made out of Cast al–alloy, this is a relatively strong material as well as having a low density, this is good because it will be light enough to carry around wherever you go. The height of the can crusher is 150 mm and the width is 70 mm, these are ideal dimensions because the dimensions of an average beverage care are 122.7 mm height and 54.1 mm height, this means that the can crusher will fit the beverage can inside it whilst also being easily storable when not in use due to the small size. The crushing plate of the can crusher is made out of low carbon steel (mild steel), this is a good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The top part of the can crusher is also removable, this is for easy storage and it is the only way of getting the can inside the crusher to be crushed. The crushing plate has a thickness of 20mm. The can crusher is hand a foot operated so it can be used by everyone; this includes people with disabilities such as not having the use of their arms or legs. Electrically powered can crusher The motorised can crusher design proposal is about a can crusher that is powered by a motor that will push the crushing plate towards the can to crush it, there is a button on the side to turn the motor on. The material used to make this crusher is stainless steel for the casing and the crushing plate is made from aluminium of thickness 15mm. the height the can crusher 200 mm and the width of the can crusher is 250 mm. Task 2–P6 On separate page. Task 3–P7 Hand powered can crusher The hand powered can crusher meets all the criteria set out in the design brief. • 5. Separation of Gold The industrial separation process that I have decided to do is gold separation. Gold separation can be done in a number of ways but there is not always one way to do it, but the combination of a couple of these processes to extract pure gold. Gold is obtained form the lithosphere. It is separated from the ore found in the lithosphere. Gold's symbol is Au. Its atomic number is 79 and has an atomic mass of 196.96655 amu. Its melting point is 1064.43°C, while its boiling point is 2807.0 °C. It is a transition metal and is yellow or gold in colour. There are also many principles used in the separation of gold. One of these is boiling points in the process of smelting. In Froth floatation, the principle is the organic chemicals in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Smelting and roasting are classified as pyrometallurgy, which is, the use of heat for the treatment of an ore Heap Leach Process: Low grade gold–bearing ore is mined in an open cut, then crushed and screened. Lime is mixed with the ore to control the pH of the leaching operation. The ore is piled into heaps on polyethylene pads and cyanide solution is sprayed over the heaps. The cyanide dissolves most of the gold as it trickles through the ore, producing a "pregnant" solution which is collected in drains at the edge of the heap and pumped to a gold recovery circuit, usually a Carbon in Leach Mining: Gold in the ground occurs either mixed with loose materials (alluvial) or as grains locked amongst other mineral grains in solid rock. Some gold may be chemically combined with other elements in the mineral grains. To obtain a sellable gold end–product, ore must be mined and concentrated. The gold must be liberated from other interlocking minerals then separated from all other contaminants. Dredging: Some of the alluvial goldfields discovered early this century were mined using floating dredges. In Australia, some rivers in the Snowy Mountains and particularly in central Victoria at Beechworth, were mined by this method.

  • 10. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Recycled Aggregates The recycled aggregates can undergo some processing procedures and adaptation to the desired characteristics. Some of these processes are: homogenisation, crushing and screening and autogenous cleaning. The homogenisation process Material aims to standardise and remove waste materials such as wood, steel, plastics, among others. Initially, construction waste and demolition are separated by the predominant color: gray or red. It is then performed quartering, where the material is distributed in different layers along a plastic and from the middle section, they are divided into several sections entitled cells. The material is then sent to a crusher where grinding occurs (Kwan, Ramli, Kam and Sulieman, 2012). The crushing and screening aimed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In general, the durability of concrete covers directly on the ease or difficulty of fluid transport within the concrete, and classified as a concrete or too little permeable. The main transport agent fluid is water in the concrete, which may be pure or contain aggressive agents, such as dioxide carbon and oxygen. The displacement of these elements will depend on the concrete structure hydrated cement paste (Neville, 1997). THE Concrete durability of recycled aggregates also it depends on the ease or otherwise of transport these fluids. Olorunsogo and Padayachee (2002) studied properties related to the durability of concrete as the conductivity of chloride ions, sortividade permeability to oxygen and water, containing percentages of 0%, 50% and 100% replacement of natural aggregates by recycled. The results showed that the durability decreases increases in proportion as the percentage of replacement for all properties evaluated. However, these properties improve with increasing age and with percentages of 50% recycled aggregates in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Research Paper On Jaw Crushers Abstract– This paper describes the weight reduction of jaw plate and materials for jaw crushers in mining industry.. The interaction between the jaw plates and material is an necessary process in crushing of stone. Where moving and fixed jaw is used. The movement of the moving and fixed jaw is described in detail. The continuous crush of mining results in wear of jaw plates which results in reduction of weight of jaw plates due to which efficiency of plates decreases in jaw crusher and after certain period plate failure occurs which require continuous change of plates due to which cost increases. A suitable material selection may avoid the this failure an improve the life of jaw crushers. Keyword: – Jaw crusher, Crushing, Abrasive wear, material. I. INTRODUCTION Jaw crushers generally of heavy duty steel box, fitted with fix vertical crushing "jaw" at one end and a moving "jaw" opposing it, with a method of transferring motion to the moving jaw. The moving jaw swing towards and away from the fixed jaw, creating a compression action on the rock. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was designed in 1857 by Eli Whitney Blake. In the double toggle machine the moving jaw (swing jaw) is pivoted at the top on the concentric swing–jaw shaft fitted with plain bushes, either in the frame of the crusher or in the swing jaw. A reciprocating action is imparted to the swing jaw through the toggles, on either side of, and actuated by eccentric shaft, generally with roller bearings. The eccentric shaft generally has two flywheels fitted, depending on the design of the machine. The swing jaw is held against the toggles by tension rods and springs. Adjustment of crusher setting is achieved by moving the toggle block and adding or removing shims as required. The toggles are the overload protection devices for the machine, being designed to fail in the event of a crusher overload, thus protecting the main crusher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Essential Materials And Establishing The Compressive Strength Introduction Concrete is a vital construction material and establishing the compressive strength is key as the ability to maximise the compressive strength will enhance a structures lifespan. Mortar is formed through the mixing of cement and water before being cast to harden. When the cement and water is mixed the process of hydration occurs forming a paste which then hardens. Once concrete is cast and dries the presence of curing time is important. Not all chemical reactions occur quickly, therefore by curing concrete in water for several days it allows all reactions to complete. Therefore allowing concrete to cure for up to 28 days should ensure that the compressive strength is maximised and it should meet industry standards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Methodology In preparation for the laboratory concrete specimens should be prepared in line with the Civil Engineering technicians' standard mix. 4 concrete cube samples with no plasticiser should be produced and another 4 Specimens should also be produced in line with this standard mix but with the addition of plasticiser as well. The 8 specimens should then be left to cure in water for specified time periods: 0, 7, 14, 28 days. In the laboratory the dimensions of each concrete cube was measured using callipers. It was ensured that before each reading the calliper was zeroed to minimise any errors. The length, width and then depth was measured before proceeding to the next sample. 2 members measured the samples whilst 2 recorded the results. After all dimensions were recorded the mass of each cube was obtained using an analytical balance weighing the samples cured from 0 days up to 28 days. Next the cubes underwent the compression test. The author accomplishes this by making the writing understandable and believable(p.22). Graham also provides sensory details such as similies to help the reader visualise the story. The author, Bob Graham is not afraid to use precise vocabulary. Throughout the book, the writer shows instead of tells, which give the readers a sense of feeling and seeing what the character Stella is experiencing. An example of this was when the author depicts the image of the bus settled on Stella's front garden, " Weeds nudged up around the tyres, snails made silver trails and a pair of sparrows nested in the engine". If speech is not natural and individual as a particular personality, it can demonstrate the character as stiff and shallow (p.26). Graham uses appropriate dialogue to describe the characters' motives for wanting to keep the bus and the appreciation they have for the bus being in the community. In winter, however, driving becomes a lot less fun. Nobody likes standing in the cold at seven in the morning, trying to pry the ice from their windshield. To shorten the ice removal process, you should get your snow gloved hands on a car scraper. What Is A Car Scraper? – During the colder months, ice collects on idle cars overnight, covering windshields, bonnets, and pretty much every inch of a vehicle's exterior. While a little bit of ice on your car door or bumper isn't such a big deal, the ice gathered on your windows is cause for concern. When your windshield is covered by a blanket of frost, it becomes impossible to see through, so you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pros American Made – If you want to purchase an American made car scraper, the Ka–Bar Lake Effect is one of only a few available. There are a number of reasons one might chose an American made car scraper over one manufactured elsewhere. For a start, doing so will stimulate the American economy. Furthermore, employees in Chinese factories – where many other car scrapers are manufactured – are often underpaid and poorly treated. The Transactions Between Bell Hospitality Limited Question 1 The transactions between Bell Hospitality Limited (BHL) and Costbite Limited (Costbite) is undoubtedly a dealing in the course of business and a sale of goods contract, therefore, it will be governed by the Sale of Goods Act 1979. A contract of sale is a lawful agreement to transfer the ownership of any particular goods in exchange for an approved monetary consideration from the other party. This transfer of ownership is also known as the passing of property. The issues highlighted by BHL focuses on if there is any passing of property and ultimately, who bears the risk of goods that have been part of the contract. By discussing each of the goods – the 20 bottles of Hollinger finest champagne, 12 bottles of Australian Premium white wine and the 12 bottles of South African red wine – separately, we will be able to determine if the property has passed to BHL and whether or not, Kerry bears the risk of the loss of the three goods due to the floods. Generally, it should be noted that the transfer of ownership does not only occur when there is a handover of psychical possession of the goods. At times, the seller may still have possession of the goods but the ownership would have passed on to the buyer, and on certain occasions, the buyer would have possession of the item but the ownership may still remain with the seller. Thus, many a times uncertainties have risen due to the seemingly challenging task of needing to prove that they have ownership over the goods but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 63. Famous Volcanoes Quiz Magma can also push up under the middle of a lithosphere plate, though this is much less common than magma production around plate boundaries. This interplate volcanic activity is caused by unusually hot mantle material forming in the lower mantle and pushing up into the upper mantle. The mantle material, which forms a plume shape that is from 500 to 1000 km wide, wells up to create a hot spot under a particular point on the earth. Because of the unusual heat of this mantle material, it melts, forming magma just under the earth's crust. The hot spot itself is stationary; but as a continental plate moves over the spot, the magma will create a string of volcanoes, which die out once they move past the hot spot. The Hawaii volcanoes were created ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of this difference in density, the magma pushes upward with great force (for the same reason the helium in a balloon pushes up through the denser surrounding air and oil pushes upward through denser surrounding water). As it pushes up, its intense heat melts some more rock, adding to the magma mixture. The magma keeps moving through the crust unless its upward pressure is exceeded by the downward pressure of the surrounding solid rock. At this point, the magma collects in magma chambers below the surface of the earth. If the magma pressure rises to a high enough level, or a crack opens up in the crust, the molten rock will spew out at the earth's surface. If this happens, the flowing magma (now called lava) forms a volcano. The structure of the volcano, and the intensity of the volcanic eruption, is dependent on a number of factors, primarily the composition of the magma. • 67. Grief In A Day And Ray Bradbury's Poems Grief is a powerful thing. It can consume someone and spit them back out without a second thought. A person can be absolutely devoured by this unsavory beast, and once you've encountered it, no matter how much time has passed, you never truly escape the beast. And said beast can make you become a totally different person entirely. The song "Again" by Crusher–P and the short story "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury both touch on the power of grief and what it does to the person and the people around them. While they both have their differences, both have something in common. Both texts refer to the idea that when you become cold and reclusive because of the pain of loss, you are fully responsible for the pain that comes your way. Crusher–P's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Margot and the main character of "Again" have not gotten over the pain of whoever they've lost. But the connection between these two characters brings up an idea that may not have been seen in the two passages. Because these characters have completely changed themselves from the pain of losing someone, they are directly responsible for the pain they endure. Going back to Margot, she seems like "the rain washed away the blue from her eyes and the red from her mouth and the yellow from her hair." (Bradbury) She looks dead. And in "All Summer in a Day", the children pick on her and mostly ignore her. While they were jealous of her for seeing the sun, they are also human. Would you want to hang around someone who seems dead? No, you wouldn't want to, now would you? These children are human, and they cannot be expected to absolutely coddle someone who looks and acts like she's dead. "Again" takes it a step further and the main character is, in fact, aware that they are sending people away and acknowledges the fact. "I haven't been myself lately, I don't blame you for not wanting to stay." (Crusher–P) They know that they are sending people away. • 71. Business Structure Of The United States For many, the American dream involves owning a business and achieving financial stability. However, to achieve this American dream, one must create a business plan that involves the consideration of appropriate business structure. In the United States there are several business structures offered for consideration. Sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies have their advantages and disadvantages. Any new business must evaluate the available business forms to determine which structure will be the most advantageous to the new business. The three most important aspects to determining a business structure are taxation, liability, and growth opportunities (capital mainly). In a scenario involving the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sole proprietorships are simple to set up and simple to begin conducting business. However, there are several significant drawbacks to sole proprietorship. Sole proprietorship has one owner and is therefore limited in its access to capital (Cole, 2011). Without access to additional capital, a business could struggle and would be unable to grow. Another significant drawback is legal liability. Given that there is only one owner, all liability resides with the one owner (Cole, 2011). This sole legal liability puts the owner's personal property and business property at risk. In the business case involving Mr. Picard and Ms. Crusher, sole proprietorship is not an available option due to the presence of two owners and the concern of legal liability. The Final Frontier would be not appropriate as a sole proprietorship. Partnership Similar to a sole proprietorship, a partnership business structure is simple to create. There are no legal forms to file and agreements between the partners are not required (Kubasek, Browne, Herron, Dhooge, & Barkacs, 2016). A partnership business structure allows two people to combine resources to enhance business profits (Winrow, 2008). With the addition of another owner, capital funds are increased, resulting in additional growth potential. Another advantage to engaging in a partnership is the method of taxation. Despite the atrocious consequences of this disease, it yielded a favourable aftermath such as the stability of the European population and the increase in demand for work (Damen, 2015). Similarly to The Black Death, the novel Crusher by Niall Leonard shows that positive outcomes often appear from situations that may seem negative. The protagonist of the novel, Finn Maguire, finds himself as the prime suspect in the murder investigation of his father, Noel. The murder of Finn's father and his pursuit to clear his name reflect the notion that there are trials that appear bitter to the core which are often blessings in disguise. As a result of Noel's murder, Finn forms a passionate relationship with a girl named Zoe, reconnects with his mother, and obtains a grand inheritance from Noel's friend. Meeting Zoe is one of the positive things that happen to Finn as a result of his father's murder investigation. Their paths intersect when Finn is gathering information about Noel from his friends. Zoe and Finn are the first person in each other's lives that reciprocate the love and affection they have to offer.
